"...because of basic physics." 😆🤣😂Love it! Great job! I've been trying to figure out how to mount a camera from the ceiling. Thanks for the inspiration.
that's a nice easy solution but just looking again, your window is wide on the edges, you could fix two "adjustable shop shelving rails", one either side of the window, and then make a cross beam that attaches with the shelf brackets... you can usually fine the shelving rails and brackets getting thrown out, when they do a shop refit :)
That was actually one of my earliest plans, but then I introduced more constraints on myself: What if I wanted to wanted to move my setup to the other alcove? This was the only thing I could think of that would actually be sort of movable...
When I worked at a TV station, they had a mirror hung from the ceiling and they just pointed the camera up at the mirror when they needed an overhead shot.
I linked to this video from John Meyers recent post highlighting setup for top down shots and you and he are addressing some of the issues I’m having and it’s great to see these things being tackled and shared as it can really be a barrier to progress if you’re starting to consider filming like I am. Being handy with the spanners is also a plus I think luckily I’m a keen diy’r 💪🏼 thanks for this, now I’ve subscribed I’m off to delve into your musical content!
Hi Dave, an off topic question that I think you’re the right person to answer. I don’t have any experience in programming, and I’m curious about how/where to start. Do you recommend any specific language that is more “useful” for musicians? Do you recommend any specific online resources? Thanks for the inspiring content you create!
I usually do an on-camera clap at the start of my videos and then I sync everything up in Premiere based on that. It works well except when I forget to do it. :)
So THAAAAT'S how you do it, I always wondered how the lighting looks so good. Had no idea it was natural lighting xD

As an illustrator - this is immensely helpful!

Love your videos!
Always very helpful.
Thank you.
Awesome. I've been working up the courage to start sharing content, so this is timely. Thank you!
Do it! Making videos is lots of fun.
I had a rig for a photography backdrop, and I picked up a camera clamp for it. Works pretty well! Now I just need a bigger desk.
Thinking of building something for my studio too. The 50s are hard work in tight spaces.
Glad I found your channel man. So calm & collected lol
Very nice and inspiring tune at the end of your video.
I’m gonna do that! Thanks 🙏

How are you syncing your video and audio?

@@DavidHilowitzMusic then the wave form sync comes in handy
