I got one of these a while back and it is very nice. Quality made and fits like a glove. It is identical to the original and the materials are much improved over the original. Worth every penny.
The Mini-14's are cool. Granted they don't have accessories like the AR's but who cares. have both. I have one in 'Blue' from the 80's with about 5000 rds through it. Never had a problem. More recently I got the Stainless and put the A-team stock on it. Badass

Some untruths were told. Riger originally made this as a whole rifle, I think as a A5.56 target. It had a factory giggle lever right at the right rear of the receiver. Unfortunately a few of these were used in the FBI Miami Dade shoot out. Ruger thought it best to distance themself from its manufacture. Public demand INCREASED. Samson and Ruger made the deal to separately supply parts for the Icon.
Yeah, 'Face'/Templeton Peck namechecks the rifle in at least one episode to a client who has just hired them if I recall. I think the version was the Ruger AC-556 but it seems pretty much identical, at least visually, to this model here.
Not only the grip on the new one is a much better one, but the wood of the Samson new one is also walnut..., instead of the cheaper 'hard wood' of the original one.
I'm currently installing a Sling which is tricky if you want an exact like the A-Team had...other than the fact theirs were actually the Ruger AC-5.56 Full Auto [Corrected]
I carried a mini 14 for years and just picked up a mini 30, this looks good, any problems with the mag well in this unit or a mini 14 stock. I dislike the plastic stock my mini. 30 came with but love the wood look better and this looks sweet.
These WERE an oem part for the select fire ac556. But it was not readily available on the civilian market. The new versions ARE distinct from the original Ruger stock, and I highly doubt the two will be confused by anyone that understands the existence of both. The grip on the original is VERY distinct from the a-tm. That old bakelite looks and feels very different from the new glass filled, injection molded polymer. It's like comparing Glock plastic to a nerf gun. The old stocks have additional cut out for the selector switch, and a VERY loose lock up( by modern standards).
My your not going to view anything as super cool an excellent as what you've just looked at, I'd die happily after owning the mini rugger folder, in stainless yee-haw pilgrim!...
Some collect paintings, some cars others perhaps stamps maybe trains even, put all I want is a mini stainless folder, by some guy by the name eugene stonner, yea you know who I'm talking about don't you?..
I sent my first one back , too. Samson was very accommodating. The Trigger Group was too tight to 'Lock Up'... They sent out a another which is perfect

Have one on my mini14 from the early 2000s, gov model. No issues with it! Swapping stocks is super easy.. just mind the torque on the gas block bolts.

i was blown away by "weight: 4.2 lbs".....isn't that like 3x heavier than a synthetic mini14 stock?
I'm not sure I took mine out of a wooden stock in the 1st place I'm not sure how much lighter the synthetic is versus the wood
