the part with the demon was amazing. but when he started fighting the animation was actually disgusting. it was so terrible. probably the worst animation ive ever seen in anime. literally copy and pasted tree models, the lighting was ugly as fuck and the colours was nasty.

Idk why this episode is so controversial because of the animation, it suited the situation completely and a few shots are so unique and disturbing, fitting for a dark story, shounen protagonists need to drop the good guy act and be realistic, but maybe people prefer otherwise
Coz this was an experimental episode. Studio Pierrot had issues with budget cutting and low animation for Black Clover before this episode. The director basically just said f*ck it and let the animators do something different and just have fun with it. They even outsourced animators for this episode and you can tell how unique this episode looked from any other anime or just any other shows Pierrot has done in the past. That's why some didn't liked it and some liked it, at the end of the day, if you're a BC fan this episode is still epic.
@@NIREV you're right but it's because of the schedule most likely, not budget. people who worked on it are very close friends with Yoshihara so it was a passion episode. Some of the techniques here were actually used on later episodes and it was very polished. ( example: #84, #93 and #100 )
