Thanks, Tom! Your video was the first one, after watching several, and looking for images, that actually showed me how the MIK system works. Thanks for making such a clear, educational video. I now know that I don’t need the carrier adapter plate, but I do need the mount adapter plate for my wife’s bike and saddlebags.
Great explanation, thanks for posting it. My only tip would be to use a white table cover, as it makes it easier to see black on black for the product demo.

When looking at it, it seems like the adapter plate easily damages your (MIK compatible) carrier rack through use. Anybody have experiences with that ?
Hi Koga, thanks for the comment. As most carrier racks are made from metal and the adapter plate is a composite / plastic material there should be no real damage done do your carrier. Perhaps some light scuffing after prolonged use, but nothing that would stop either side of the connection from functioning. Hope this helps.
