I agree that the packages are great and the customer service is second to none! Please tell me how you made the guides into those gorgeous little booklets! Fantastic video, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think the make up guide is next for me, I'm a light summer and all my eye shadow palettes are warm toned!
I used the company DoxDirect, I think I linked it in the description box. Really easy to fill out online and quick delivery, plus they send a pack of sweets with it haha :) Yes you'll need some cool toned makeup then! Being a makeup fan I think the makeup guide is my favourite booklet :)
Very good comparison of the two companies. I ALMOST did HOC but decided against because the consultants near me are new and I wanted someone established and very experienced for the amount of money I would be spending. I have subscribed just now to Curate Your Style. They seemed to have given you a way more personalized accurate guide overall.
Yes that's understandable, it's a lot of money so you have to do what you're comfortable with. I agree, I think Curate Your Style was a bit more personalised despite HoC taking into consideration personality and lifestyle with the style aspect.
Seems like a great service ! ❤ When I first started with color analysis about 20 years ago it was with an old Color me beautiful book and I figured easily I was warm but I probably went through all the Spring and Autumn seasons for a while 🙂 Totally worth having it done by professionals to have it right , save time and it's a lifetime of very useful informations , and it embarks one on a great personal journey . Eva ❤
Thank you so much for this video. I have had my colors done with HOC. I am looking at Curate Your Style for more detailed information. You video has really helped me with this decision. It sounds like it is exactly what I am looking for.
This color you're wearing today looks stunning on you! Personally, I did 2 online consultations, one with a 12-seasons consultant and one with a Colour Me Beautiful consultant, who used the Munsell/Tonal system. In both cases I was analyzed as a soft Summer, predominantly soft, neutral but leaning more cool (I still can wear some Soft Autumn shades) with medium depth. I must say that the custom palette I got from the 12-seasons consultant is spot on for me. I'm wearing some shades I had never looked at before and get tons of compliments. Good to know that Curate Your Style has so many other services though, I feel like they can be a good complement!
Thank you so much! I never really used to wear blue but I love this kingfisher shade :) That's good both services assigned you to the same season and that you're rocking your colours :)
Hello! I have a suggestion for one of your next videos😊 What if you made a "Start from scratch" video but in terms of your wardrobe? I think you could also make it seasonal, as the person's needs and preferences in clothes are different in each season. Thanks for reading this!❤
I recently did my color analysis with Curate Your Style London online. I’m a dark winter. I knew I was either dark autumn or dark winter, so it feels nice to finally know which one I am! 😊❤
Awesome review, thank you for doing this! I had heard of this company but didn’t know if it was good or not. I will probably check them out now. And btw, the teal color on you looks gorgeous. Brings out your eye color and your makeup is a perfect complement to it. Beautiful!
Plus I think it could be interesting if you made a video about your top-3 products of all time (top-3 lipglosses, top-3 mascaras, top-3 skin primers, etc.)😊
I love that booklet😍 A thought on the lipstick thing: I agree that bright red is too bright. The when in super hurry only wear lipstick tip I don’t think works for everyone😬. Does it work for you…? I think if in super hurry a touch of eyeliner works best, lipstick with a bare face gives me the feel of stilettoheels without an elegant dress- like something is missing🤔 😅at least on my face. I find that soft seasons easy get overwhelmed with too filled in brows aswell, because brows need to be precise (not blended like two clouds haha) so that ”preciseness” does something with the overall softness.
I am a warm autumn with dark blonde hair and hazel eyes. I rarely wear any makeup but a tinted lip. Guess it depends on where you lack color og definition the most 😊
@@pizzakrydder2515 haha thank you😸😻 it is my silly cat, the picture is a screenshot from a video where we brush her teeth and she only wants to eat up the toothpaste😂
Hi Vicki, You are a summer. Note how lovely you look in the soft pink. Here is a tip. Cover your hair as it is throwing warmth and apply some cool summer make up and compare the clarity of the 2 images. I do have an online colour analysis on my website that has helped people around the world. That way i can give you some wonderful guidance.
Hmm I'm not sure I'm a summer as I'm not cool toned. When I've worn cool toned makeup and clothes in the past I look drained and tired. When I had my House of Colour in person analysis the consultant covered my hair so it wasn't affecting the results.
Excellent break down of the the two companies!! I recently done HoC but wish I used Curate your Style as it was cheaper and get much more out of it!🤦🏾♀️
@@vickilouise7764 I wasn’t at first as I always assumed I was warm toned but was assigned sultry winter cool toned! @@vickilouise7764 I decided to do an online silver package at Curate your Style and they assigned me as a Dark Winter! 😅This has now put my mind at rest and I have now embraced being a deep winter! @@vickilouise7764 deep autumn and summer. I think deep autumn from curate feels more accurate. Crazy enough I had 4 analysis done by 4 different people to get some sort of consensus which made me doubt the whole thing. I got (time order) - true spring, deep autumn, summer, true autumn
Thanks for a lovely video! As a fellow true/warm autumn I am having a hard time finding lip products in store that are warm enough and feeling apprehensive of buying online without seeing the color irl. Do you have lip products that you would recommend?
If you find a really warm lipliner you can mix it in with any lipstick or gloss you feel are missing just a tad of warmth🌡️ Those creamy lip and cheek products in little tubes are great and very easy to mix and blend❤ I had to give away all my warm makeup after my color analysis lol.
@@pizzakrydder2515 hope it works🥰 I tried the Barry M Fresh face lip and cheek tint and it worked great both on bare skin and over foundation. Super easy to work with and not expensive🤓😻
I look at lots of swatches online when I'm looking for lip colours and try to find pictures of it on someone with similar colouring to myself. But also lips can have different levels of pigment so that will affect how it looks. House of Colour is great for knowing the lipsticks will be warm, others are MAC Smoked Almond, Estee Lauder Persuasive, Lisa Eldridge Velvet Dragon. What shade are you after?
@@vickilouise7764 Thanks so much for these suggestions, I will look them up! I found a new color that I love, it's L'oreal Color Riche 108 Brun Cuivre. I am looking for medium shades of brick red, rust, bronze..
I prefer CYS for the style information, it was much more detailed and gave information such as cut and style of different types of clothing. HoC was useful for a style personality but I rarely refer back to my booklet. Colour analysis was more fun with HoC as it's in person so you see for yourself the difference the drapes make. Both systems gave me the same result though 😊
Thank you for the review on Curate Your Style and for sharing the link to the printing source you used. Your help was much appreciated. Best wishes!
