Warning: This video is short! But then the demo is short! I'd usually bundle things like this with other news but there isn't much homebrew at present.
@@protocetid I know there was official releases that used both, but they was all FMV games, it would be neat for someone to make a demo and a game using both.

I'd like to see a 3D tech demo, the Sega CD 32X would probably be more of a nightmare to work with than the Saturn lol. Can't be a coincidence there's more homebrew Saturn software than SCD32X.
Impressive???? Hahahaha it’s sluggish & slow, has short drawing distance and i don’t see any textures, and even so,even the super fx chip could do this, What an utterly shameful demo is this, hahaha how droll how very droll👎👎
@@johneygdthe limiting factor of the 32x is the amount of RAM it has access to, which is almost none. 256KB. Given enough ram, the SH-2s in the 32x can compute over 50,000 fully textured polygons per second. That's a lot more than the super fx chips can handle.
@@johneygd Err, I meant, good luck getting that to work on SNES. This is what I like to call bad coding, by the way, and see Zyrinx on 32x. Way more impressive.
If you take 32 and then subtract X, which means 10 in the lasagna language, then add 2000, you get 2022. A coincidence? I think not! 2022 is clearly the year of the 32X. You read it here first! And last, probably.
And it is written in C and basically a port from the Arm consoles (GBA, 3do ) thanks that language. I did not understand why on Git the branches are separated so deeply
It’s too bad it has a terrible frame rate. Even many SEGA GENESIS demos have higher frame rate than this- though those had fewer polygons per frame and wern’t textured.
is the 32x technically not a 3D machine, but instead, just a 2D powerhouse of sorts? from what i've read, the Saturn was only made to do 3D at the last second (and not very good at it)... despite the fact that shen mu development looked better than any PS1 3D game lol... but the 32x should be able to do a crude crash bandicoot, no?
Well, the 32X could do a very primitive 3D (so no Crash Bandicoot, I'm afraid) and its 2D graphics were nothing to write home about either... nothing the SNES with Mode 7 couldn't already do, in both cases. As for the Saturn... there are some games, like Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter 2, Sega Worldwide Soccer 97 and (oddly enough) WORLD LEAGUE SOCCER 98, that would be impossible to do on a PS1 (or, provided they indeed got a port, like WLS 98, it was definitely downgraded), so...
The Saturn is very capable at producing 3D. Sonic R, The Need For Speed, Duke Nukem 3D, Croc, Quake, & Dead or Alive are good examples of the Saturn doing 3D just as well if not better than what Sony was doing. Homebrew games such as Hellslave by XL2 further proves that the Saturn can do 3D even better than PlayStation
There's not much to speak about for a demo that's just over a minute long 🙂 Other than to show it. I'd usually throw in other demos to make the video longer but there aren't any at the moment.

There is no reason to feel pressured by your projects. Take you the time they need and they will get perfect.

I always wondered about the 32x and the supposed 32768 colors. I always was jealous of the SNES palette
Pixel Perfect: 256 colors at 320x240
Direct Color: 32,768 colors at 320x200
I suppose more developers used Pixel Perfect Mode.

It actually HAS the SNES palette. 32768 colors = 32x, (future) super 32x, and SNES
