Add the onions, kielbasa and sauerkraut to the slow cooker *if you prefer, sautée the onions in some butter in a skillet over medium high heat until browned then add to the crock pot. In a bowl whisk together the chicken broth, mustard, pepper, apple cider and garlic. Pour into the crockpot. Cook on low 4 hours. Add the frozen pierogi to the crock pot with the butter and mix. Try to have the pierogi under as much liquid as possible. Cook on low 1 more hour. Season with salt, pepper, or garlic powder to taste. *if you like the pierogi crispy, sautée pierogi separately in the 4 tbsp butter in a pan instead of adding them to the crock pot.
