I'm like 1 year late but I think it's pretty important to translate Chinese to English exactly because for example at 1:12, in Chinese Lumine said "I will introduce Xiao to them one day! (我会把魈也介绍给他们哒)"
While in the translation it's just "I will introduce *you* to them one day!"
The "Xiao" in Chinese Lumine's words is actually a foreshadow to the ending---Lumine wasn't the one who lost her memory but Xiao is. Mentioning Xiao's name in her words reflects that Lumine knew the cat is Xiao, but since she's been making herself live through the same days over and over again, she starts to lose awareness of not mentioning his name. While Xiao is obviously used to people calling him his name, so I'm assuming he didn't react because he didn't realize it too.
But anyway, thank you for translating and put this on TH-cam, I feel unreasonable happy that more people can be able to watch this :D
If I were Xiao in this situation I'd be both mad that Lumine is wasting her life but also honoured that she'd waste her life with me.
During the beginning and middle I'd be smiling and crying, but now I'm sobbing for Xiao😞😞😞 this was amazing, even if it shattered my heart into pieces 😭😭😭

I watched this on bilibili and read a couple of summaries, so I knew the gist of it, but still... I started crying right from the very beginning, and I still am crying. This is a beautiful and touching story, thank you so much for providing English subtitles as well! I admire Lumine so much for her determination, and I know she will stop at nothing to allow Xiao to recover. I know Xiao would do the same for her (and that thought just makes me want to cry harder). The animation is amazing, the voice acting is topnotch... and I feel like I will always cry whenever I watch this.

It was the cutest yet the most emotional animation I've ever watched. Xiao playing with ball is what my two cats did and the ending got me tears... very bad. Because it reminded me my two cats, which were the light of my life both died long ago. The first cat of mine was dead from a fire bite of the street cat and buried in the garden behind my house. While being buried, my second cat looked at his brother's body, and joined to help with bury him. From then, he was living with me without his brother. He just kept living positively in my house, playing all time, like he forgot about his brother. But who knows if he tried himself to forget about the loss? Everything was fine, until one day, I witnessed him vomiting after everything he ate, and blood came out from him while he was taking his own bathroom. He became weak, skinny and frail. In his very last moment, he left my house twice, the first time he left, he was gone for 3 days and I didn't help him out in time, made me worry to death, but then he came home safely. But as he returned home for 7 days, he left again. And the second time he left with his sickness untreated, there's no return till today. As if he had a human mind, he saw himself as a burden to me, he didn't want me to worry about him. But with untreated sickness, he must've died on a lonely and cold street later...
Hearing cat Xiao say the exact same thing that my second cat used to do in the last moment he lived, tears from my eyes rolled down silently. But at least, Lumine got Xiao's back, and I'm relieved for them. Absolutely a masterpiece.

@@variezay8375 If I understood right Lumine was badly hurt and Xiao rescued her, but he got injured (?) in the process too causing him to lose his memory, so everyday he's convinced that he's helping her recover for the first time, while the truth is that she is well already.
She doesn't want him to know because knowing how proud he his she, rightly, thinks he would leave to avoid dragging her down, but since she doesn't want that and she's willing to stay as long as he needs, she tries to hide the truth from him

I believe Xiao is actually the one who got injured, not Lumine. Due to erosion, he can't remember anything for longer than a day and misunderstood that she got injured from protecting him. In truth, Lumine is helping him recover by making sure to follow a schedule everyday, doing and saying the same things without fail. Through this, every single day is the same for him and leaves less of a burden on his body. Lumine put her life as a traveler behind and has been doing this for at least a year now. Each time Xiao finds out the truth, she gets rid of the clues and he forgets after a day. She knows that he'd rather die than bind her to him, that's why she doesn't tell Xiao the truth. They're both in a constant loop, Xiao is unaware of it while Lumine keeps it going so he can heal.

Ohhhh tysm for the English translation!! I watched the original a little while back and only recognized a couple words here and there so I was trying to figure out what was going on and just appreciating the visuals and tone of the story, and getting to actually understand it this time was amazing (and also reminds me of why I kept Xiao benched for so long after I got him- from about 1.3 or 1.4 all the way to 2.7 when he proved that I can't keep him from hurting himself for the sake of others anyways T^T)

Xiao tomó la forma de un gato para cuidar de Lumine, porque ella había sido herida por protegerlo a el, aunque ella se recuperó, su salud sigue frágil y tiene memoria de corto plazo, por lo que ella solo puede retener un día de su memoria, por lo que vive en una rutina donde repite el mismo día una y otra vez.
Xiao y Lumine viven su día a día, hasta que Xiao descubre que en realidad quien quedó con con la salud frágil y la memoria a corto plazo fue Xiao, y Lumine es quien lo cuida a el.
Lumine renunció a su vida de viajera para cuidar de Xiao.
¿Por qué Xiao tiene forma de gato?, es porque su cuerpo quedó tan débil, que la única forma en la que su salud no se vea tan comprometida, es siendo un gato.
