i have a carri chef 1 from about 2005, these are not very common here in the usa but i found one for sale on closeout for a very good price so i bought it, as far as i know they are no longer sold here. the pot support is slightly different, it came with the bbq grill and the scottle pan, i have found that the scottle pan works best with the pot support removed. it did not come with the chefs pan. my only complaint is that it can be difficult to clean, the parts that get dirty have a lot of sharp corners so wiping it isn't effective, you need a brush to get into the corners to get it really clean. but it is stable and reliable and nothing has broken in the last 17 years.
Dan, I wouldn’t put the burner face down on the ground (especially on stones and gravel) when your fitting the legs. If you damage the igniter your Cadac is knackered my friend and might be unsafe? Great review, happy travels. 👍🏻
Great job - a proper honest review. We have the Safari Chef 2 LP as we’re limited on space/weight. The quick release valves are definitely easier. Good quality products by Cadac. The tapas set looks handy, may be our next purchase. Thanks guys - love your vids 😃
To use the Skottel, you remove the pan stand. The skottel should have 3 notches that make the skottel rest directly on the barbecue. I’m quite surprised to see that the skottel doesn’t come with the heat diffuser, so your skottel could get hot in the middle, but not so much on the outside, but I guess that’s normal, it’s basically like a Wok, and you use it mostly for stir-frying, not much else. We have a 20 year old Carri chef, and for the skottel we use the heat diffuser that used to come with the old Carri chef, Not with the new one anymore…
Great review one of the best I've seen on a product showing us the built up and strip down of a product you certainly know the product well. It's a great asset to your cooking features.
Well done 👏👏👏👏👏 got review, we haven’t been able to use our one yet this year but all your cooking 🥘 is making me desperate for some nice weather so we can get it fired up, the best thing is the pizzas 🍕 so keep trying 😋
Hi guy's good vlog nice to see your haveing a good time we got the 2 ring burner by cadac which has a bbq plate and a flat plate plus you can use pan's on it aswell we find it's good for 2/4 ppl 👍👍stay safe 👍
At the NEC shows the Cadac demonstrators recommend putting some water in the lower black tray when grilling which stops any fat dripping from the grill plate burning/sticking to the bottom.
I have the same grill as you, if you want to use those mat things, get them a bit smaller, the slots around the outside of the plate let the natural fats fall through into the donut ring to keep it as healthy as possible then you just wash them in the sink, I take mine to the washing area to keep the mess out of the caravan. The pot stand sits in the three keepers inside the donut ring it doesn't sit in the bottom and i think the pizza stone sits on the pan stand. Had mine a couple of years now and the pezzo ignition wire is toast so I light it with one of those gas lighters with the extension bit on it. My review is they are the dogs watsits.
Nice video, because of the clumsiness lol… proper real world review. I did cringe when you were kneeling on the burner upside down… horrid moment lol. Keep up the good work
Great review Dan. I have a Cadac and do my full breakfast on the pan, but have difficulties frying eggs due to it been unlevel. Do you mind demonstrating a full fry up and how you would fry the perfect egg!!!!!😋😋🍳🍳
Dan/ Mazzy you don't need the lid to use the stir fry plate, you don't leave it to cook you stir and fry just like you would do in a wok that's why the lid doesn't fit.
I still have the Carri chef 1 it's around 13 years old..it appears better made than yours..I think if I was as heavy handed as you it wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes...I too have a quick connector...It cam with a cover and for the legs.. I know I paid £95 for it....delivered...It's brill...I have a 5 meter hose which I bought desperately so when plugged in the caravan it will go anywhere...The pizza bases were £5 from Aldi 3 years ago.. I do prefer the higher sides on your tops as on mine there a little shallow. My top tip is a little door stop triangular wedge which you can use to level it...by popping it under one of the legs...simples... I'm on my second cover...and second frying pan..however the none stick pan lasted me 10 years...no Brillo pads just soap n water to clean.
I noticed one thing in putting your grill together. It appeared that the first thing you did was to place the burner or gas head down on the gravel and from what I could see it was higher than the grill body. While putting on your legs it was in contact with the gravel and at one time you even put some your weight on it trying to get the leg on. I'm no expert and have never even seen a Cadac but I'd be very concerned about the wear and tear on the most important part of any grill, the burner, especially since your are taking it apart and reassembling almost every day.
Left a like just came in from a though day and I lost me purse and me cards are in there including my free travel pass bank account card and my national trust membership card and my id along with others glad to see your videos coming a lot now
I flinched when you put that burner on the gravel. Fun though
Great review really enjoyed it ♥️

The Old CADACs are The Best, hang onto yours for dear life, that’s what we do with ours.

At the NEC shows the Cadac demonstrators recommend putting some water in the lower black tray when grilling which stops any fat dripping from the grill plate burning/sticking to the bottom.

The hooks on the two legs is for the lid to slit into so you don’t have to put it on the floor Dan . We love ours
Yes but its too fiddly
🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈😂😂
Next time try doing it after eight cans of John Smith... that would be impressive
Nice video, because of the clumsiness lol… proper real world review. I did cringe when you were kneeling on the burner upside down… horrid moment lol. Keep up the good work

Did you keep the lid on when you did the pizza?
Yes
@@TravelTrollsTV good answer
I bet you have to romove the centre silver pan stand when you use the curved wock type thing
Fantastic 😊😊😊
Cool
