I do not work for UP; but the Roseville Amtrak Station does sit immediately adjacent to UP’s yard activities and where all the action in this video was filmed from.
Brent, this is a great video. Roseville yard was much different years ago. I would park along Atlanic St. and watch switching operations as all the local freights were built up there. In the background I would see all the through traffic and Amtrak. Listening to SD 7 & 9's pull up the grade in the yard was a great sight and sound.
Herman Darr Thank you Herman ! I can only imagine the days when Southern Pacific were still around and hearing those impressive EMD 567s working the yard. There would’ve certainly been more activity during SP’s time than with what we see today.
AmCalJojo459 Rocklin is an Amtrak station, although the rail service is funded through Caltrans via Amtrak California and the Capitol Corridor. It is not however associated with Caltrain, a commuter rail service in the San Francisco area.
Nashafiq Norazli There is a lot of information regarding the two, but essentially, BNSF is the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railroad. Prior to 1996, both the Burlington Northern and the Santa Fe Railroad were two separate railroads, however, due to a significant number of financial reasons, many railroads merged, including the two as mentioned above, thus forming the BNSF Railway.
A good source is Wikipedia. For the most part, the history is OK. Avoid opinions. The heritage of the BNSF includes many former Class I railroads in the Western USA, as does that of the UP. Appreciate your interests.
