Nice setup, I have a small kit I put together. I have QCX mini for 20 meters and I made a 28 guage speaker wire doblet that’s tuned for the CW portion, I have 2 aluminum tent stakes that I cut down to about 4 inches and use about a foot of cord between the ends of the antenna and the stakes. I’m using a W1REX (tuna can kits) circuit board straight key built into a mini Altoids tin. There’s a write in the rain notebook and a mechanical pencil in the kit and 2mm dyneema cord and a small throw weight. To power it up I’m using a battery pack intended for AA batteries with a built in power switch but I’m using 4-) 3.2 v rechargeable batteries. Everything fits in a small Maxpedition pack. Obviously I’m bound to just 20 meters but it’s easy to throw in a backpack for a quick POTA (and when the weather in NH gets nice out, I’ll do my first SOTA activation).
KK7SWB- new ham here with another question- i have looked at the plug lengths on the link for the mic/ear, and they look different- like you see on a HT, but yours look the same- are they? and also, if i dont have access to a 3d printer, where can i find that plug? TY
That's a pretty great kit! Thanks for sharing
