This model is in colors of 303rd "Tadeusz Kościuszko Warsaw" Fighter Squadron also known as No. 303 Squadron RAF. Plane was used since October 1941 by Jan Zumbach, nickname "Donald Duck". He was ace pilot, lt.col. of Polish Air Force, and later smuggler, mercenary and businessman - very interesting character.

Like come on. This plane is such a labor of love to so many people. And Cobi did it justice! Everything seems sturdy, the proportions are good, the detail is well done.
What I like the most is the polished underside of the wings. It adds so much. And they didn't have to go that extra mile. Just look at that sad excuse for a remake that is the Karl Gerät. THIS is what a remake should look like.
If I had to make a nitpick I would say don't make the RAF look like Polish air force. Or in other words give us a Spitfire with regular british markings. Either make it a stand alone set (like with the F-16) or include the printed parts necessary to convert it (like with the T-34-76 in 1:48).
Ok I know there will be people saying that Polish pilots played a big part in Battle of Britain so why do I complain? I totally agree with that statement! Polish as well as Czech and many other pilots from different nations did many huge things in service of the RAF but we should be able to get the plane in colors of it's creator.
But overall this is a magnificent model which will surely take place on shelves of many fans.
Well, Cobi is a Polish company so making the plane have Polish markings is kinda understandable.
Plus it is done in the colours of the 303 Kościuszko sq. (See the roundelle behind the duck, with the stylized US flag with two crossed, straightened out scytes). So there is the added aspect of being done with the markings of the best scoring squadron of the Battle of Brittain (I guess you can see how a Polish company would want to maybe brag a bit).

@@Windhox_cz they sometimes made models with several marking options. I guess they could have done it like that..
But then most people would opt for the he more generic one and maybe they really want to see those Polish markings in videos like this one?😁
Polish pilots and No. 303 Squadron RAF played big part in Battle of Britain and other military operations during WW2. They are part of history, it's concrete plane of concrete pilot from concrete unit, not just DEFAULT model, which belongs to everyone and no one at the same time. So why do you complain? Show respect for Polish Air Forces in Great Britain like they deserve for enormous war effort, which later turned out to be worthless. Poland - occupied by Germans and Soviets - after years of genocide and destruction, eventually became USSR satellite, fully dependent on political will of Kremlin, whose leaders decided to hunt down and kill Polish soldiers and patriots. And British and Americans did NOTHING to stop Stalin. Polish pilots weren't even properly honored when WW2 just ended. Northolt Memorial in London was built because of Poles from Polish Air Force Association - it wasn't even British initiative. What a damn shame! if Polish red & white checkerboard bothers you so much, then don't buy this model. It's as simple as that (but I suspect you wouldn't buy it anyway).

A great diversion from Lego. Finally cool tanks and Aircraft That I love. I thought I would give Cobi a try and am really impressed. The parts fit well - the build is fun and yes NO STICKERS!!!! Love printed parts. And love getting a display stand!
Hi! I just finished building the Spitfire and was curious why I had the two white two-stud claw pieces left over, but I see you got them as well (I don't have a second black propeller axle though).
Anyway, what a great model, and thanks for showing me the alternative way to build the stand, the plane looks way nicer facing downwards 😊
I still got the Vickers Wellington waiting for me here, and after that one, I'll be sure to buy new sets from your affiliate link (hope it works in Germany)

Yeah it seems overall more accurate. Sadly I already bought the old one, so it seems excessive to be getting another one lol. The sloped nose though seems off
