I love the Quansheng K5 and have a K6 on order. It's cheap and the open source firmware that expand it's capabilities is fun to play with. The hobby needs more of this.
Get on HF with something like a USDX and you'll find all you like.
What do you think of the K6 in comparison to the K5?
I have a Retevis RT3S as well as a tyt md390 plus and both support opengd77. Makes them a whole new radio.
Worth a video if you can get your hands on one.
On my Quansheng, On 220, I get 230 mW output.
Output level settings do not alter output by much real difference.
Cool video! I have had much fun with my Quansheng. I think I just prefer it because I can modify it to suit my needs and wants. I love stuff that can be tinkered with.
No shade on the Wouxon, that is a nice radio too!
Steve was looking like Mr. Evil off of the Time Bandits for a sec, with those face colors!
Great video guys tnx!
I would have imagined you would have compared the Wouxun KG-UV9T (plus) which is also not a high-end radio, with the Quancheng UV-K5
I'd like to use 1.25m because it is use it or lose it, but it requires another radio, antenna, more coax, on and on. And when I listen to the only 1.25m repeater in my area, it is dead silence.
Good morning guys!
Hey mate!
Lock me in for one AIOC Eddie. :)🙏
I'm keen to see what the QuanSheng capabilities will be over the next 6 to 12 months, endless functions hopefully.
I have the KGUV9PX Wouxun, and it's a great radio. I wouldnt mind getting that one down the track. I like it.😊
They arrived yesterday. I just need to program them up and test, then open a online store so people can purchase them.
@HamRadioDX awesome but setting up an online store is a hassle. :/
I'm in no hurry but I don't want to miss out. Are you getting 3d cases made up or just the exposed board's?
@@DonzLockz yeah got a quantity of 3d molds coming too. they aren't cases, only used to line up the plugs correctly, then you toss it out
The Talkpod A36 is not the cheapest of radios, actually. Roughly three times the price of the Quansheng.
I like my old Kenwood HT because I know how to use it and how to fix it. :)
I would have liked to see the woxuns screen close-up
I have been curious...why are these Only available on but two way radios? Is that odd?
Try that Q10H with a hand mic. I have three and none of them work with a hand mic.
1:48... I assume you're talking $AUD... in the US, the FT-4XR, FT-60R. FT-65R, FT-70DR for instance are all well under $200 USD
Yes I would've been referred to AUD.. sometimes I find it hard to convert exchange rate in my head! :)
The Quansheng is not designed to transmit outside of the VHF (136~174 MHz) and UHF (400~470 MHz) bands. The RF front-end and the low-pass filters are not designed for any other band that the chipset is susceptible to be programmed to.
i have a K5 on order now from sydney
I didn't know quensheng existed...but i own the Wouxun...should i regret this!!🤔
THE QUANSHENG WAS THE CLEANEST OF THE LOW COST PORTABLES.
HARMONICS WERE AT LEAST -73dB BELOW CARRIER.
1) It depends on your luck. The problem with these low cost radios, is quality check
2) if this value applies, it's only on the two ham bands (and around). Trying to make a UV-K5 transmit anywhere else, makes the harmonics and spurious figures horrendous
Make the wouxun run on aftermarket firmware before all without are left in the dust with uvk10 coming soon
Ill take 10 of my quang uv6 over that over boofwang priced junk 😂
🎂🍰
This should have been about a 10min video.
Probably, but it isn't.
I think you should ask for your money back!
The interface on the Wouxon looks really cheap & nasty...
And people think the uv5r is bad lol
Buy 20 cheap radios!!
The Quansheng is $17,49 on Ali.. So forget about Amazon.
Sure... if you want to wait two months to get it.
10 days, fifteen maybe
@@HamRadioDX I got all three them in 5 days shipment.
@@Lagomosa To the Netherlands free shipment and it usually takes 5 day to get here.
Amazon sponsored is strong in this one
You need some music lessons..
It’s one thing I never did at school well
Wouxun it's expensive and it has worse screen than an uv5r, total garbage
Superheterodyne vs homodyne
@@RKingis you don't know shit
I HATE chirp....absolute junk!
Perhaps you could develop your own vastly superior programming software and give it away for FREE!
Always a great video .... thamls N7ZXG
