I'm so confused by food safe 3d prints.
I want to print cookie cutters but now I'm not sure.

Could I print a cup and only put water in it though?
    Would that be safe?

It depends... I would not recommend it if the filament is not food approved.

Can you recommend an apoxy to use for food safe platters?

Thank you I am only a newbie at 3D printing but was wondering how safe PLA v TPU etc was for cookie cutters but also for icecube trays? Maybe you could let me know when you can :) Maybe there is a better filament I could use or should I stay clear of the trays? Look forward to hearing your thoughts again thanks so much :D

If you really have to, I suggestion is to use Food Safe filament like the one you find here, and don't heat it too much: filaments.ca/collections/3d-filaments/diameter_1-75mm+application_food-safe

Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this topic with us! Amazing video! I saw in some other videos, and in some websites that, if you coat your printings with food grade epoxy resin, they should be good to go, since it creates an even surface, that theoratcly, inhibts the growth of bacteria. As you said in the video, special care should be taken when dealing with temperature. But what I was thinking on coating with epoxy resin is cookie cutters. I thought about after printing them, expose the pieces to direct UV light for some time, and then coat it. What do you think? Thanks!

Glad that you find it interesting! I don’t have experience with epoxy, what you suggest makes sense. If you want to make your life easier you can try this filament. I bought a roll and still haven’t used it, but it’s made in Czech Republic 😉 www.3djake.com/fillamentum/nonoilen
