They are the most amazing dog. They can jump across a house
Incredible abilities, these breed is unique. Every time I am holding my breath while watching their jumps. It is spectacular but the question arises: how much this intense training contributes to developing of hips dysplasia in Malinois? It said that it is one of their health problems. Thank you for video.
It's not as bad as you would think it is. It's like anything else, if you train them to jump properly, and aren't forcing them into extreme landings, my understanding is that they fair better then German shepherds do from it. My Mali runs and jumps all over, has for years, no issues here. I've seen him snatch a crow out of the air that wasn't fast enough off the ground, took it at about ten feet using an oak tree as a springboard. Health wise, just a very robust and hardy breed, just too much energy...

LOL Probably because the Mal almost looks like a cat when it comes to the incredible jumping ability it possesses. An adult Cougar has the longest horizontal jump (up to 40 feet), and those crazy Mals obviously can't jump THAT far, but they just glide through the air, unlike really any other dog breed.

Amazing breed. You need a 50ft fence to try and keep on in if not trained not to jump one lol. My malinois can clear my fence if she were allowed but she isn't. She can also run, jump and run up wall to top floor window. Super agile breed.

I understand these dogs are amazing. And yes they are natural and agile jumpers and climbers, but the lack of responsibility taken by some owners in the nature of the jumps (which would not naturally occur in the wild) and the lack of having someone catch them in numerous clips is shocking! These trainers/owners/handlers are jeopardizing the dogs' physical health and are probably going to reduce the number of years in which these dogs will be able to lead an active life!
