This "mystery" piece is actually an excerpt from a composition named CHARTRES (Noël Varié) (From Four Carol Preludes) written by Richard Purvis 1946. After the initial statement of the theme marked Lento, three variations follow: Variation I (Quasi Carillon), Variation II (Cantabile), Variation III (Grand Choeur). Here John is playing Variation II (Cantabile). I was privileged to have been a student of John Binsfeld back in high school from 1981-1985 before moving on to college. I have such fond memories of him, my Saturday morning lessons, and countless trips to the Wanamaker Store to hear and watch him play. I will be forever grateful for these memories and for his friendship throughout the years.
Just Marvelous!!! Totally love the strings!!!!!!!

I'm so sad you may not be able to make more recordings of this instrument, at least for a while.
