♥️This song stayed #1 on the Rap🌆City's top ten when it debuted back in 1993. We literally ran home from school to catch the 4:00pm exclusive episode because if you missed it back then it wasn't coming back on until the next day. That's crazy to think this was 30 years ago and it still sounds just as fresh now as it did back then. This was true hip hop in it's finest hour and that's a fact. This was a great reaction video PrettyPooh and I know you'll keep them coming.👍😁😎👌
FUN FACTS. 1) Do-It-All (The first guy rhyming) is now a City councilman in Jersey. 2) Marley Marl was their producer 3) Redman was their first/original DJ (Yup THAT Redman)
The dude with the second verse is a politician in new Jersey now!! One of my fave groups i miss the 90's sound im proud to say i was 19 when this came out!!
Uniqueness and originality is what you have noticed doing these reactions others have noticed it as well. Biting another's one's style wasn't allowed nor tolerated that was one of the many rules to the foundation of hip-hop.
yep! I use to listen to all because they were all different.. from chris cross, to house of pain to cypress hill to mc breed...to phycyde and on and on
Lords came through with this hit! I was in college when this dropped. Instant jam in the parties. This video and time showcased the true elements of Hip Hip. So many diverse styles in the 90’s.
"Here come the lords" is another firee track of them. You have to check it out 🔥🔥 In case you would like to watch music video - it's actually tricky, because it is like a mix of two of their tracks (one with the main title and "Lord Jazz Hit me one time") 😅
Another banger from that album was Here Come the Lord's. Dope shit! Be careful though, I see your watching a lot of censored versions of the songs. It's not like I just wanna hear cussing and shit but you miss the real first time experience without all the lyrics. Watch u everyday. Keep it up! Love to watch u react
I was born 97 in germany and I listened to this in elementary. Like, I listened to this before I could speak english and before I even knew what Hip Hop is. The beginning of a big ass journey into me becoming a Hip Hop head. Music is truly a universal language
Sometimes you have ONE song to say ALL rhat you wanna say, because it could be the only thing that lives forever... LotU went for the FINAL shit, every time. 💯 They played every song like it was their last.
Lord Of The Underground From My City Newark N.j A.k.A Newark Brick City Stand-Up 973 They Straight Hardcore 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Lord Of The Underground And Redman From The Same City Newark N.j
That style didn't last long, but it was so 🔥while it did. Checkout Das EFX and Fu-Schnickens for a similar sound. "Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka" by Heltah Skeltah/Fab 5, is another one, that song still got me saying "yes yall" till this day! ...I know, the names 🤣 .. throw in a chinese name like "Wu Tang Clan" 😂 we just different in NYC 🤣
That season of rap, EPMD also released their track "Crossover" which spoke of the potential fall of real hip hop. Hip hop went pop after Hollywood recruited such acts as L.L. Cool J. Big Daddy Kane. Also, West Coast rappers as Tone-Loc, Sir-Mix Alot and others surprisingly crossed over to pop radio. What a shock that was.
You got to overstand we were pissed off about sooooo much back then that no one smiled unless yo momma or grand momma told you to! Or you just got some good COOKIE!!!!! lol
What happened to HipHop groups ? Back then there were so many groups, somewhere along the line the record labels decided that they were only signing solo artists because it's so much easier to control one person instead of a group.
Hi, I'm Colombian! You have no idea of the impact and nostalgia that this type of rap from the 90s generates in those of us who are part of hip hop in Latin America... However, to me and many fans of 90s hip hop in the US, many doubts and questions arise. Why nowadays those who listen to rap from this era, or rather "trap" are no longer interested in these rhythms and this style? I see videos of rappers reacting and many don't know anything about this era and its artists, it seems strange to me, as if trap had completely separated from hip hop? I feel that this music today is no longer listened to by the rappers out there! I even feel like they don't care about it or like it at all.... It's very strange.

@@KelzKelz it was very seldom they did but I just hate edited songs. It ruins them for me when lyrics get altered for whatever reasons
