Thanks for the video! You answered some questions I had after flying her in Puerto Rico. I may not be a Carenado fan but with this plane I am coming around. The seats look very Carenado by the way. Thanks again, -Mike
Me too. I used to fly both the 404 and the 421. The best 400 series Cessna is the FlySimWare 414. The 404 in 2024 does not have properly modeled turbocharging.
Thank you Jonathan for another very welcome and informative video. I would be very interested to know if any of the team who designed this aircraft had flown one for real. It's that one factor that makes those that do stand out from the rest and make it worth your time.
It is definitely Carenado. It might even say in the aircraft menu. Have to check when I get home. But back in the P3D days they published the 404 under the Alabeo title, but it seems they’ve merged under Carenado now. Always enjoyed hand flying it even though it didn’t have the most accurate systems modeling. Seems better now however
The lights don’t work on any of my planes and the gps only kinda works on some. I hope they get it straightened out soon. I can only do free flight. Career mode won’t load and open
I still cannot get a key to switch my view from inside the cockpit to an external camera in chase. In 2020 it let me use “end” key, but in 2024 nothing i have done works.
Backspace. If you've changed the keyboard mappings away from 2024 already, that will be the root of all your problems - because half the keys won't be mapped any more.
Great analysis, thank you! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Jonathan, somewhat off topic, but back in the days when I was a student pilot one of the first things you lean about is airspaces, type B,C,D and A. A question any instructor will is ask you is pointing at a random location on the nav chart, and have you explain at which altitudes the various airspaces starts. I haven’t seen any nav chart where airspaces are shown, and you’d figure that would be one of the main things they test you on getting a PPL in 2024. Any idea why?
The PPL test in MSFS 2024 is laughable. CRTL+E to start the aircraft, fly a circuit through some boxes hovering in the sky, then CTRL+SHIFT+E to shut down... It's really aimed at the gamer crowd.
Also, you are a serious simmer so would love to see a video where you follow the various airspace restrictions, just in a VFR flight. Somewhere around a big airport.
@@sedlund1 I have done it in the past - used VOR navigation as an excuse, and flew a lap of London, avoiding Luton, Gatwick and Heathrow as required. It was fun. Maybe I'll do it again to illustrate how VOR navigation works (although saying that, VORs are going the way of the dodo)...
Funny how Microsoft woke up and saw all that they should’ve added to 2020 but was to late cause modders had already been doing it are now in 2024. Doors opening, windows opening, having a Cessna 400 series and what other aircraft that are mods in 2020. All that should’ve been in 2020 to begin with. It seems FS2024 should’ve been the actual next flight sim after FSX instead of FS2020. I see from this video, this aircraft isn’t close to the Flysimware 414’s quality.
Jon, There seem to any number of videos showing the Tobi eye tracker working fine in 2024. Is this problem unique to you, or are they all using the Open tracker software like you are?
Eye tracking works. If you go into the Tobii hardware settings to configure it, it crashes to desktop instantly. As of a few days ago, Tobii were telling people to install OpenTrack, so they're probably all doing it. I'll have another look over the weekend - see if anything has been done about it yet.
@@danielrobb2381 go into the control configuration, and for the device you're expecting to work, search by input and press what you're trying to use - it will show what is mapped to it.
It's unfortunate that it's a Carenado. Their "quality" has really taken a nose-dive with 2024. Even before, with the likes of Black Square, A2A, Just Flight and others in 2020......they hadn't released anything new since June of 2023, so it wouldn't surprise me if they just gave up doing anything in-house.
I think you'll find they were building all of these aircraft for 2024, and converting their old aircraft - I suspected that was the reason for their absence. Don't under-estimate the amount of work required to make aircraft - especially against a simulator platform that is under active development, so has been changing all the time.
@@MarcDavison I think you'll find they were completely re-built, re-skinned, and re-developed for each simulator. It's not as easy as many people think.
Nice,thank you! I´ve got my multi/ifr trainning on the smaller,superb Cessna 402B!
I had one of these and flew the hell out of it..until it quit working because the sim changed its version.
This one flys well!
it will be ok when the manage to sort out the engine/turbocharger system. the performance the 404 has at the moment is woeful.

Love this bird. ❤
Love this kind of instrument panel.
Love the BONANZA type of airplane.
I very much enjoyed your video.
I am in.
Cheers
I agree, flew it for the first time yesterday and it's really good and sounds great too.
Very cool! Wish it was a 421 instead (pressurized), but this is great minus the bugs.

The Carenado aircraft usually strike a balance between realism and accessibility.
The gps autopilot worked super well
You are right, it looks like a Carenado made aircraft.

I’ve been flying the wonderful COWS DA42 around Alaska in 2024, would throughly recommend you give it a try.
The COWS DA42 is fine if you start on the runway - it has the common parking brake bug if starting from cold and dark though :/
Can't turn the blinding Garmins off at night. 5/10
Pretty close to the 414
Hi Jonathan, the airport you are landing Cormeilles en Vexin, where do all the GA planes come from, scenery or traffic setting? Thanks!

I have the same TM quad, could you post your profile for the one you used? im having a time trying to assign controls. Thanks
Just play with the different axis. It's pretty straightforward - I did a video on setting up controls in 2024.

No cockpit vibrations?
True, It would be nice if it could be added somehow.
With all these aircraft that come with the sim, can you hide those that you don't want to fly from appearing in your selection area in sim??
Probably quicker to only display those we want to fly 😂
Its not selection are. Its just parking space and sim creates random planes to be parking there.
Not yet. It's coming.

Can we change co pilot or pilots clothes as mine had the pilots gear. But would like him to have normal clothes in the smaller planes?.
Yes - in the main menu, go to the top of the screen, and change your pilot.
