I saw that video paul. Was very nice having a walkabout around Gaydon with you. Who knows one day this car may be at a level it could make an appearance… perhaps next year when restoration should be complete
Have the same thing with the driver door on mine where the whole panel is just unhinged now. Jaguar said it seems like it was in an accident because there’s some signs of paint work and subframe shifting. Interior door handle is loose and not locking. Outer keyless lock push button isn’t working either on driver side. Only keyless entry is working. Passenger door is fine. Rear leather quarter panel on driver side interior is also somewhat unhinged and the last little section of it has separated from the factory glue and fallen out.
Get it over to Mark at Jaguar Chiltern… he knows exactly how to get your door cards back on replacing all the clips with OEM equivalents. Apparently there is a specific technique to getting them on right and a lot of people get it wrong. This is where experience comes in.
Just bought my xkr today after watching you from your previous jag.
Congrats Simon! Well done mate. You’re going to love it. It’s just such a great bit of engineering. Best of the modern British classics in my opinion.
Very sensible approach. Love the car and really enjoy the videos. Thanks for creating the channel.
Thank you so much for the encouragement and I am glad you’re enjoying the updates
Looking good, slowly getting there. 👍👍
Hey buddy, I was at Gaydon today and there was 100s of XKs and I didn't see any in British Racing Green. It's definitely a rare colour 👌👍

@@KausarClassics I wish I had a place like that. I’m in the US. I appreciate the info though.
Hope the car doesn’t need to much surgery. 🤞
Very good. It’s looking a lot better
I think your right to get the oily bits sorted first. Looking forward to seeing what Jaguar Chiltern have to say.
Another Nice video, have you thought of using a clay detailing kit on it, just done mine and it comes up a treat, although it’s very time consuming.
I have thought about it but I would probably get someone who knows what they are doing as they would likely do it much better than me.
M8. Are you wearing white trousers?! 👍
Lol. Yea! I was at a garden party so decided to bust out the linen trousers
Did you do your own head lining on your own car your sincerely Mr David Payne.
No. I used a local re-trimmer, details in that video
