High frequency heating has been widely used in heat treatment, melting, and welding of metals. Induction welding is based on alternating magnetic field. The eddy current effects on the workpiece in the electric field induction field heat the workpiece, causes the workpiece to melt, thus realizes one method of welding. The welding equipment is made up of AC power supply and induction heating ring. AC power supply is divided into high frequency and intermediate frequency according to its frequency. High-frequency power supplies are widely used because of its high frequency and rapid heating. Induction coil is an important component of induction heating equipment. The energy of alternating current power supplies is transmitted to the welding parts to realize heating. It is usually made of copper tube, and the tube is cool by water when working. Induction coil can be designed to be reasonable structure according to different needs , which has a significant impact on guaranteeing to weld quality and improving production efficiency. Induction heating power supplies as early as the 1950s has appeared, there were mainly: power frequency induction furnace, intermediate frequency generator set , tube oscillator type high-frequency power supply. The appearance of silicon thyristor in the late 1950s triggered a revolution in the technology of induction heating power supplies. The induction heating power supplies and its application has been developed rapidly . By the 1980s , the invention of IGBT switching devices made induction power supplies up to 100 kHzs in frequency and MW in power.
Induction welding is a form of welding that uses electromagnetic inductions to heat the workpiece. The welding machine contains an induction coil, which is charged with electric current of radio frequency. This creates a high frequency electromagnetic field, which acts either on electric conductive or on a ferromagnetic billet.
In the electrically conductive billet, the main thermal effect is resistive heating, which is due to induced currents, called eddy currents. In a ferromagnetic preform, heating is mainly caused by hysteresis, since the electromagnetic field repeatedly distorts the magnetic regions of the ferromagnetic material.
In practice, most materials are subjected to a combination of these two effects.

Is the full weld penetration? Or is it only partial depth weld?
