Put them in a really good lathe and wet sand precice and polish.Could even add tuna or barrel shape for better aero dynamics.

Not that it would hold up to allot of shots but it would be a way to add weight up front on hunting arrows and the back could be left black to mess with fletching. I have some store bought arrows that look like that.

Wonder how much weight this adds to the arrow. Seems like it would mess with accuracy

Much less than a wrap that's for sure.

Best way to lose an arrow yet.

Just spray paint and water? No specific brand of paint?

I gave this a whirl and it mostly worked as shown except the paint was kind of lumpy on the arrow and required wet/dry sand to smooth it out. It was hot (80ish) wondering if the paint was already setting up on the water surface before I dipped the arrow. Looked semi congealed. What temp was it during your video. Also I used Krylon paint. Maybe the rustoleum works better.

I have the exact same question even the same paint. Doesn't look like you got an answer though.

I have the same question. I’m going to try the rest oleum on a cooler day. I used KayLin paint.

How well does this hold up to reflecting?

Sorry, but I'm not sure what that is in relationship to this process.

@@kayaktote if you were to rip off of strip the fleching will the paint rip off as well? Or does it hold up.?

    • @kayaktote

That would all depend on the glue used and why it ripped off in the first place. If the vane fell off just by shooting it through a whisker biscuit it won't hurt the paint at all. Now if you shot it through some plywood and 2 of 3 vanes were intact I would assume some paint would be stuck to the ripped off vane. I've removed a vane because it was damaged by another arrow. Some of the paint came off with it, but that was covered up by the new vane and the arrow shoots the same.
