    The 2.5 micron particulate works by laser scatter like a photelectric smoke detector works, not but what gets in between the laser and detector plate.

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Particle measurements are based on the fact that when a particle passes through a beam of light, some of the light is scattered. The detection of scattered light caused by the particle in the air is recorded on the photo or light detector sensor plate. Unfortunately I may not explain everything perfectly in my over 600 videos. How come you have a habit of being a pedant on my channel? Just curious. You're the only one that stands out.

      I have the TemTop m2000 and it is awesome, a bit more money but when it is a matter of life or death - I think we may need to spend a little more to not get a fake LOL. I see so many fake meters with only one sensor inside to give 6 or 7 different readings and that is just not possible, so many people are buying them thinking that the information is keeping them safe while all along the information is faked by mathematical equations performed by a micro-processor instead of genuine sensors. Hope this helps. You may also want to look at the TemTop M10 - it is a bit less expensive and is still up to the TemTop high standards of quality. I am getting ready to create a video about fake and legitimate meters and am looking forward to hopefully saving someones life from buying a fake meter.

    I like the idea of this monitor and currently I'm on the search for one with multiple sensors such as this, however it looks like ill probably need to get a separate monitor for radon and ozone since its nearly impossible to find all of these in one. I live in Canada so Ozone isn't the biggest concern during winter months but when summer comes around there tends to be some smog and it is recommended that we have radon monitors. My only concern with this meter is the precision, for the price that it is, I cant see it being that precise even after calibration. I tried doing a bit of research to see if the company listed a variance but came up empty handed.

      @@electronicsNmore That's definitely true, although it is an awesome device I'd rather know how big the margin would be. For instance if its +-20% that could make a big difference than +-5% on whether to invest in air purifying equipment or not. Also that would be awesome if you have a couple devices which are a bit more precise to share.

      It doesn't look for lead, it looks for all particles in the air. Lead is heavy, so it won't stay in the air for long unless it's lead fumes.

      @@electronicsNmore I have had the house tested by a number of home inspectors proving that it’s loaded with fiberglass insulation and I’ve had Industrial air purifiers to take
      Most of it out but it’s still in all the furniture, on me and my clothes and in the air outside because of storm sandy in 2012. My problem is I can’t get anyone to believe that fiberglass is dangerous when it’s airborne and after researching for six years, it’s airborne everywhere and becomes airborne from our landfills all over the country, probably in the world. I can’t even find food without Fiberglass in it which is causing me to have colitis now. It’s been covered up just like asbestos was only it’s more dangerous because it affects more than the Lungs. What do you suggest when you find fiberglass in someone’s house? The EPA won’t help because it’s a residence. Thanks for any info you can give me, it is starting to affect my breathing now and I am frightened.

    Mine was fine when first got it had almost perfect readings but 2 days after that it just stays stuck on 1.9999 HCHO and 9.999 TVOC 😟.
