(How did a five minute animation take less time than like 3 minutes of animation……looking at you Ruthlessness)
Anywaaaaays I hope you like this! As well as mu designs! Here’s some info on my thought process!
Athena: already in my community tab but recap her design is inspired by a really pretty painting as well as Wonder Woman
Ares: basically the typical helmet covering face man but it’s inspired by his Wonder Woman counterpart as well as his helmet off look inspired by Ponyos dad from Ponyo and Howl from Howls moving castle (pretty boy energy and wet rat energy)
Aphrodite: a lot of paintings as well as just some pretty things I wanted to draw her with, little pearls, small chains(if ya know ya know), rings galore, earrings, long eyelashes, moles and beauty marks.
Apollo: drew him in my sketchbook before animating him! He has an arm made of sunlight that can also turn into his bow which I really like, flowers, sandals, and spikey spikes around his bun lookin like a sun.
Hera: no thoughts really besides peacock! And her big kaiju form is just a giant bird lady! He hair and body are all feathers, she’s got claws, wings on the side of her head that cover her eyes in her non kaiju form, and an extra eye with feathers around it to look like a peacock feather.
Zeus: basically just a cloud man, all the time. With lighting in the shape of a crown. But when he’s serious or just wants to he can have one face…or three! One of a man, one of an eagle, and one of a bull! His hair and beard are both made of clouds!
Odysseus: typical ody design, circlet, stubble, nice guy
Penelope: curly hair pretty lady
Telemachus: a mix of both parents hair! Curly and wavy in a ponytail. Not much to say on him or his fam TT

Very lovely designs
Absolutely spectacular animation! Exactly how I imagined her reminiscing on the past with her student and pleading for his release at the end. I gotta say, the build up that jorge brings at the end with the sad music escalating to the intense tune gives me such chills and gives me the tingles.
Also want to add I love the designs, all the characters look perfectly drawn, I would love to see a fully animated/colored scene in the future one day. Subscribed!
I'm a little obsessed with Hera's design! You took her peacock missive as her literal fit design and it's such a cool take! That and Apjrodite being very much a WOMAN. She's gorgeous but could be 30/40+ which is never her representation! She's not the goddess of motherhood and yet she's birthed the different types of love from Eros to agape. It's such a refreshing take!
Ah lol, hyperfixation. That thing that’ll get me out of bed and make a whole dang Vtuber model in a week and also forget to eat and barely survive off of chips and water. Take care of yourself, I know it’s a doozy, but I really love the rush of adrenaline when I find something that makes me excited enough to go guns blazing on work for a long period of time! Always fulfilling, though unhealthy when you forget the essentials of survival 😂
Aphrodite spinning the pendant for "more like busy spiting" and Hera's feathers ruffling after Athena made her case are both great details.

I love how Hera has the most shocked expression at Zeus wanting to strike down Athena with her hands over her mouth. Ares and Apollo also looked very worried and scared even which makes sense because Athena is their sister.
Hera is Athena mom it's equivalent of a mother seeing helplessly her abusive husband about to whip the living daylights off there daughter and she can't do anything than just be shocked
( and Apollo and Aries are the brother who are jerks but too care for there sister but are afraid of dad )

The fact you drew Ares without facial hair makes me love his design the most. The ENTIRE POINT of the helmet he wears is to hide his "childish" face. Removing that from him was a great move.

@@gheata_playz874 Yes and no. So there's two version of Ares: One that looks like a gruff man with a heavy beard. Then one that looks like a handsome youth with no facial hair. The thing is it depends on the time and region which is the one that was used in art. With that said, if we go by representation, the youth would be a better choice for Ares. He represented the more violent aspects of war that engulfed younger hearts, whereas Athena represented strategy and cunning, which to be fair is more expected of older and more trained warriors.

I'm loving this trend I'm seeing of Ares hiding behind Aphrodite after getting scolded by his sister. It gets a snort of laughter out of me every time.

Ares being baby faced just like in the myths, Zeus having a triple head of human with bull and eagle to show his two sacred animals, the gods being scared of Zeus and shocked by him attacking Athena, Zeus relenting without Athena collapsing, I love all of this animatic, it's so great!
And Hera holding Athena in her hand is so cute.

This is the kind of version I wanted to see, where instead of Athena getting killed, she is just very weak and begging her father, who relents because it's his favorite child, his baby girl, his precious smart bean... And he may have over reacted when he hurt her too much.

@@kaykay8855 I mean, it did considering how she got scoff free from being punished when she helped Hera, Poseidon and Apollo try to overthrew Zeus. Which failed and caused the three to get punished while Athena didn't get any. Also, in the actual Odyssey, she just asked Zeus to free Ody which Zeus did cause it's Athena that asked lol.
Well as far as I know it isn't confirmed she's dead, that's why the canon ending is such a painful cliffhanger bc she could be dead but also alive we don't know
I like how Athena held up Ares' helmet looks very reminiscent to how Perseus was holding up Medusa's head in many depictions of that, and showing it to Ares and Aphrodite!

I absolutely LOVE how you keep Zeus's face hidden until he gets angry at 3:53 given the feeling of an untouchable boss until she beats all the minibosses and is now on his level

I love how for Aphrodite, Athena has to properly beg her case to make her reconsider- she must appeal love to the embodiment of it.
And even with Ares, she's being protective of the two mortals she considers friends, that's why it works.
WHY is NOBODY talking about Zeus’s design? His face being covered with clouds was such a cool interpretation. AND THEN to see the absolute MENACE underneath it?! FABULOUS!

I am OBSESSED. The way you took details from statues of them, their roles, and their sacred attributes to make their designs; the video game introductions; feminine Apollo and disabled Hephaestus and baby faced Ares using the helmet as a mask; the tattoos (the fire scarring on Hephaestus's back?!) and little details like the back of Apollo's tunic mimicking one of his sacred birds, Aphrodite's spinning pendant or Hephaestus smiling at Athena before schooling his face back into neutrality, the colors, the facial expressions at the punishment, just EVERYTHING, this is absolutely amazing and I'm in love

OH MY LORD!!!! You are an amazing animator and your representation of each of the gods is incredible especially Hephaestus and his disability. You also add that needed anger for Athena when Telemachus was insulted by Ares and Aphrodite blaming Odysseus for his mother’s death.
Okay I love the reveal of Zeus' three aspect face. The eagle, the bull, and the man. What a delicious reference to his more famous transformations.
I like that Zeus and Hera are more animalistic than their children. Kinda showing that their from a more primordial age before human society was as established.
I bet the titans would look like straight up prehistoric giant animal human hybrids similar to typhon or the kaiju from the monsterverse
I think this is the most accurate I've seen anyone draw the original Greek gods/goddess. This is also so beautiful I especially love at 3:38 when Hear's feathers puff up. Also no one else has actually made Athena cry in any I've watched so thank you for making it more accurate and making her cry for Oddessyes
I cannot stop watching the thunder bringer segment. The reaction of the other gods, her family, is so poignant. It gives me chills everytime. You have truly painted Zeus as an egotistical, mercurial tyrant. Kudos :)

I love everything about your designs. I love Hephaestus having his crutch, I love Apollo's arrow-like hair ornament, I love Aphrodite's pendant/mirror/whatever it is, and Ares' boar tusks on his helmet, as well as the babyface and hiding behind Aphro's chair (chaise lounge? sofa? her seat) when Athena gets angry. I love Hera's peacock feathers and towering size, and everyone's shock and terror at Zeus striking Athena. Love the shrouded face to reveal the three heads of Zeus, and Athena's owl wings. Until EPIC animatics I never considered Athena having wings and now I can't imagine her without at least the ability to have wings in her humanoid form. Also i love that you made Ares look genuinely distraught for "is she dead?" The fandom seems very split on whether he was concerned or lowkey excited (that doesn't sound right but I can't express what I mean, some people think he's very like "haha she got what's coming to her let's poke her with a stick to see if she's still alive"), but I like the versions of Ares that care about his siblings, especially when Zeus attacks them, cause he's also a victim of Zeus being The Worst so he sympathizes.
Apollo's hair ornament also looks like sun rays!! The design is genius
And I agree with you on Ares, these two were always fighting but it was a case of "I can hit my sister/brother but if anyone else tries they're catching these hands" and since he can't do anything against Zeus he's very worried 😟

Athena and Ares are THE sibling energy of the Olympians. People think it's Artemis and Apollo, and I admit they have it too, but Ares and Athena are the "beat the shit out of each other and then help each other up, and will absolutely burn the town down if anyone else tries" kind of sibling energy

Quite honestly, I love this one detail, how you had every single god, Apollo, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Ares, even Hera are afraid during Zeus' verse. My interpretation isn't they are afraid of him, as Hera would know how Zeus is when enraged. More they're afraid for Athena, worried about her, because as much as they fought with her, Athena is still family to them.

I think this is my favorite depcition of Zeus. I love that you leaned into him being head god so we're unable to see his face!! Being the god of storms/thunder it makes sense his head is in the clouds (hehhee). And he only shows it when in Final Boss Mode or when he relents to Athena.
And Hephaestus!!!!!!! Drawing him with the crutch does me so well

The designs of each of them are so amazing, Aphrodite and Hephaestus have to be favorites, especially with giving Hephaestus the crutch when you think about his depiction of being born with "his feet on backwards" according to the stories

I absolutely love all of the details, but I am a major fan of the subtle detail of Aphrodite spinning the pendant. It’s so small, but I love the fact it shows Ody with his mom with a heart, then spins to show the heart broken and the person on their knees. It’s such a good detail that I couldn’t help but point it out.
This has my favourite designs for the gods. They’re distinctive and inspired, while remaining recognisable. The detail and expressiveness is amazing.

Zeus and Hera had me thinking; what if these are their true forms, the ones that melt mortals of they look? They’re kind of monstery, very imposing, very strange. It’s a cool setup.

Also, this might just be me but this moment at 3:02 with Athena holding up Ares' helmet is very Perseus-holding-the-head-of-Medusa coded.

I absolutely the designs of the characters, especially the fact that the first ones show their faces, and the more we progress, the more they hide it at first.
Ares got his helmet, and then Athena takes it off.
Hera got this thing on her face, but then when she faces Athena, she lets her see her eyes.
Zeus first has clouds all over, and when it's time for Athena to confront him, the clouds disappear.
And I love Athena being Ody's wing woman, supporting him with Penelope!

Hi yes THIS IS AMAZING!!! I love all the character designs so much! Athena is just Amazing! Zeus's bull and eagle heads are super cool to see, Hera's feathers look awesome, Ares design is great both with and without the helmet which I love how Athena just causally rips off him, Aphrodite has so many little details on her that I love, Apollo low key has me swooning like send help, and Hephaestus having a crutch is such a perfect detail for him! I love the pan between all of them when Zeus is getting ready to strike Athena and just how disturbed/shocked they look like they really didn't think he'd pull something like that this time and Ares seemingly genuinely concerned face when he asks if she's dead is just Great. And the flashback scenes during the warrior of the mind instrumental always seem to shoot me in the heart I saw. Athena in the background giving Ody a thumbs up with Penelope did lighten the feel at least a bit though. I also love how her begging Zeus is promptly followed by a happy Athena as Zeus begrudgingly tells Hermes to go release Ody.
Zeus Face reveal at the end was so sick, also loved how you implemented the Gameplay Element!!
I love how 'never once has he cheated on his wife', is what got Hera to agree to releasing him. Athena really went there just to get what she wanted 😂
