Roger's is more than a plant-buying place for me. I lived in the area for a couple of years. Not a great time in my life. I would go to Roger's every couple of days just to walk through and take in the beauty. Everything was/is so beautiful and yes, so perfect. It was one of the most soul-nurturing experiences of my life. So funny to hear your description, "Disneyland for plants." I used to call Roger's a Floral Disneyland! lol Whether you buy something or not, it's the best of nature's beauty. ❤
I'm way out in the boonies so Walmart is the only place for me to get plants locally - they almost always have Costa Farms, which is the only way I'd get any kind of interesting plants way out here - other than mail order. And I also immediately remove the CF decorative pot since they don't have any drainage holes. I've got a stack of them waiting for me to drill some holes in them, LOL.
Yes, inspiring, fun, I think the small string of turtles was the only good deal. But, a lot goes into maintaining a nice store and all the plants. I am always impressed with your knowledge of all the plant names. I dont think you need to look at the labels much!
A great video, Patrick! And a place I have been going to since I was a kid. I would also mention an old nurseryman's trick for those nasty/annoying Opuntia spines. I use clear packaging tape (strapping tape) over the area you get hit with the spines, firmly cover the area, usually the hand, and then pull. This gets them all. See you in the next video.
OMG, Pat. I was jus there last week and was scoffing at the prices in the trending plant room. The same size Thai Consta at Mezcala Nursery was literally 50% less. Not exaggerating. Roger's Gardens is out of touch. But it's fun to look around and get inspiration.
I often go to these garden artisans to get inspirations then try and recreate them at home as my project. That was a great video Patrick. Thanks for taking us along.🥰
This one cracked me up , 😂 the bougiest nursery lol how the 1% plants shops 😂😂. I love Rogers for inspiration as well and just walk around and take in all the beauty . You can find some deals if you go on the right day.
Hello Patrick Brian from Arizona here I love your shopping videos this nursery was absolutely gorgeous and I love your shopping videos please keep them coming you have gotten me so into succulents and cactus I had a bunch die last year but I totally am going to buy more this year thanks again for the great video🎉❤❤❤❤
I’m so glad you’re going to give succulents another shot! I’d move them in the shade and water them a bit more when it gets super hot 🥵 Thanks for watching ❤️
I love Rogers Gardens, I usually go during Halloween and again during Christmas because their displays are so pretty. I've only ever bought one thing there though because the prices are yikes, I got an awesome string of hearts that was already super long and full
also I think they are microchipping some of the plants now because they have/had a theft problem. There was some jerk recently that stole like 8k worth of stuff (multiple times stealing) and they caught him via airtag
Ohhh! Interesting!! The thieves are thieving in Newport! Glad they got smart with AirTags! Joke is on the thief cause he can’t sell them for the same prices as Roger’s 😂
lol, reminds me of a friend that is a florist, one of his clients thought really expensive lilies looked too much like hibiscus and he had to redo everything, the client was entertaining her priest on her yacht and had nautical themed hand blown glass dishes made for the occasion, obviously trying to buy her way into heaven.
I lived in 92037 (La Jolla, CA) and currently live in 92118 (Coronado. CA), and I am struggling paycheck to paycheck. Lol. Jk. But not. Just cause you live somewhere don’t mean sh*t! 😂 And shockingly, like w plants, we have a bougie local supermarket (like a mini Whole Foods) here in town, where everything is overpriced and never on sale…meanwhile, they have many of the plants in this video for $5-20! Maybe they just don’t know what they’re talking about… 🤫 hehe
So... let me get this straight... they remove the ceramic cache pot that you would otherwise get elsewhere, so that you have to buy it separately.... Why does that not sit right... Not cool.

Even dressing all bourgie for the occasion. Ready to go get a hazelnut and pistachio cream latte.
Pinkies up 😂
Beautiful nursery but those prices were 😯
People living in that zip code are okay with the prices. Everyone's got their own budget.

The Costa plants come in plastic cache pots. But I get your point.
Every plant is over priced. I rather go to a big box store where they’re cheaper.
You seem to like animals, do you have a pet?
I love animals! 2 dogs and 2 cats 💕
Lol, "how the 1% plant shops" 😂
Meanwhile, planning my next trip to Rosales 🤌🏽
That part!
