I think both sides look good honestly. I don't mind knowing what is considered to be a trend, but these are all just makeup techniques and you use different techniques to enhance features differently. It may be 'in' to use blush that high up on your cheekbone and side of your face, but blush placement should be dictated by the shape of your features and and the effect you're trying to achieve.
I love all the new blushes.. but I agree that both sides look good, I actually prefer the old method as it’s more natural.. when you get flustered you get flustered in the balls of your cheeks but I also agree doing it higher lifts the face and cheek

I went also to makeup classes in Paris and the classic way is just the traditional placement. I would call this more like a trend 😅

Honestly the old style looks more pretty for me I would go for the bronze for the jaw line but for blush you need your cheeks to jaw line that gives that pretty look but truly you look good in that old style trust me 🔥
I use since years lipsticks as blush as i never liked regular powder blush and so im really looking forward to trying this new product. I always felt powder blush just sits on top of the skin and looks cakey while a creamy texture like a lipstick or Hudas new product goes deeper into the skin and looks more natural.

Actually applying blush not only on cheeks but on forehead, tip of nose and chin was something women did years ago in the 60's. They used a terracotta powder called Rubiglo or something like that. My mom and aunties all used it and they applied a little bit on their lips with a dab of Vaseline for shine. Evolving of times and techniques but the base is the same - it is more a natural and not so glamour like look.

It really does look like that natural flush, wow! As it is a cream blush, will it make your makeup look cakey if you wear it after setting/baking your under eyes? Personally, blush is the last step in my makeup routine. That’s why I opt for powder blushes. That way I don’t need to worry about any last minute disasters especially when I’m running late. Also, can you apply it via the stick and then blend it out with a brush?
Both sides look fine everyone’s face is shaped differently so this new blush trend don’t work for all imo it looks weird applying blush so high up normally where you’d put highlighter idk that’s my opinion on this blush trend

It's funny to me that this is coming back around...... Mary Kay back in the 80s sold blush duos, a lighter and darker shade, and we learned to use blush to contour if you will, define our cheeks.... And would use both to create a lifted, contoured, ombre effect..... And honestly I myself have been asking, this last year especially, what is the point of contour, bronzer and blush, all in pretty much the same area..... I'm learning how to apply minimal bronzer as my "contour" and then blush it up!!!! Not because I have mature skin but because I love blush.... It's my favorite part to do in my make up... And I love darker & brighter colors.... Yeah at almost 50 I'm suppose to be boring mature make up and I'm like, nope, it's my face and it washes off so I'll do it how I like thank you very much.... I think both methods actually did look good... The 2nd method can be done wrong but if you blend it correctly, it'll look pretty!! I also a couple of years ago taught my mom, whose like 75 or 76 now, how to place her blush to get a lifted effect, and she loved it and how many compliments she would get.....

Both sides look fine actually. Your blush placement depends on your face shape. The blush on your lifted side makes your cheeks and face look more plump. The side on your apples makes your face look slimmer. It’s just a different look. Both not wrong. I actually think the non lifted side suits your face shape better.
I don't get why so many makeup artists say that blush on the apples of the cheeks is unflattering. I've noticed most celebrities wear blush on the apples and they always look youthful. You never see any of them with crazy contour or high blush placement. I think the Kardashians started this ridiculous trend years ago of having chiseled cheeks and everyone followed suit. To me there's nothing more youthful than a pop of color on the apples of the cheeks. Nothing too over done, just a pop of color. Blush placed as high as the temples, as I see EVERYONE on TH-cam doing now is just so silly to me. No one blushes naturally like that.
