But how do they perform? It's one thing to do a side by side comparison based on what you can see with the eye, but these are rain jackets, and what really matters most is which one will perform better. I went with the Sitka Delta because it has a Gore-Tex PRO membrane, and while other companies have developed their own membranes, there's no telling how it will actually perform until you're in the field. Gore-Tex has built a reputation over decades, and their Pro level membrane has a well above average waterproof/breathability rating of 28K/25K. Chene doesn't even disclose what their jacket is rated at... Also, the Sitka has pit zips for ventilation, and I don't think the Chene Hydrolock has them. If the goal is to stay dry in a downpour, then I would definitely go with the Sitka because of their Gore-Tex PRO membrane.
@@jarcidiacono1 I have worn the jacket in terrible weather. I hunt on the coast which is often wet, rainy and windy. I have seen no absorption of water, holding of water and have not been wet. I hope this helps. I have worn Gor-Tex in the military and I think this material is better in my opinion.
I would think you would try them on if you are doing a review
U didn't mention the hydro lock cuff.
Dang, you're right! I'm still getting used to doing these reviews. Thanks for looking out.
What size Chene did you go with?
I went with XL and it fits great. 5'10 205lbs average build if that helps.
I have used skitia for years but you right the chene clothes are awesome I have been buying something every year
The price is high but the quality is definitely there. Hunting equipment (especially waterfowl) is not getting any cheaper.

Very helpful
What about their fit? I know the Sitka is a little shorter to work better wearing outside of the waders and was wondering if the Chene is the same?
To me the Chene jacket is a little longer than the Delta Pro Wading Jacket. Hope that helps!
Are you still happy with your Chene gear, I’m wanting to purchase some actually good gear instead of my cabelas stuff.
I am very happy with my Chene gear, I actually have 3 of their Hydrol-Lok Shell Jackets and 2 sets of there waders just to name a few items.
Have you worn the jacket in a down pour? How does the waterproofing hold up? Curious how it stacks up to Gore-Tex.
