I’m sorry that happened to you brother- stuff always happens at the worst possible times. Keep on pushing, living to fight another day! This is just a test- that’s all! We sooooo appreciate you, the science, and all the knowledge you drop on everyone and community. You got this! 🤙🏼
My VE valve cover looks diferente. Is yours newer? At 8.01 thers a plug right above the temp seal. Why don't you use that for oil return so you don't drill the block?
Either way you will have to drill something. Putting a VE head on a DET bottom end you will need to drill the head for an oil feed. Also you will be limited as far as cams and won’t be able to rev it as high due to the DET pistons not having valve reliefs. So pick your poison really
Also We don’t utilize the complete DET engine because it isn’t as efficient as a VE at making power. DET engines are prone to throwing rocker arms and don’t necessarily like being revved to 8.5-9k rpm regularly. That is your saving grace when up against todays cars and technology. The DET is gonna run out of puff where the VE starts freight training.
Indeed, you are a wonderful man who never stops using the SR20 engine and we are impressed with your explanation and clean work 👌😮💨⚙️
I am glad the nissan community have person like u bro..thanks for the good knowledge

My valve cover is from a p12 Primera. I only use the factory oil return location. Because that how Nissan designed DET and VET motors
Didn't this car already had an SR 20 engine inside it before you began this engine upgrade? It looks like an SR 20 VVL. 🤔🤨
Question: why use a VE/DET bottom end n drill oil return instead of utilizing a DET block that already has that return line?
