@@mylesbishop1240 Eh, it wasn't that great. At the end of the day, the multiplayer was a loot box vehicle for EA. The gain of new items was so slow, it was supposed to pressure people into spending RL money as a shortcut. Much to EA chagrin, players instead simply adapted to the very slow grind and just... enjoyed playing the game. The events and all that were just attempts to quickly add more weapons and classes, so that people could not possibly keep up with them all. And they couldn't, but rather than giving in and paying money, they just adapted to the even slower grind, and simply not having X weapons, without much concern. That was when EA gave up and stopped supporting the game with updates. So... Glory days? Not really. But funny days, certainly, if you were aware of the economics behind it.
@C ouch, that’s sad. So far I’ve enjoyed it and the credit system keeps me going. It was worse before? They should have added pvp or other concepts. Thanks for the detailed response I didn’t know this
@@mylesbishop1240 I doubt they changed it, but at the system of the time it took about 200 hours of gameplay to unlock every character/weapon and about 400 hours, to get them all up to X.
***** I would love to see them allow you to create a custom character. Pick your race and abilities. I would love to see a batarian vanguard with ballistic blades.
Something that was not mentioned which I find useful is her normal dodge. The blink thing, if done to the sides or back, she won't go into cover which allows you to go through walls too, so you can escape quite effectively even when in cooldown. Though the downside is barrier integrity, the barriers before "softer" when used, so don't use it to get into a hoard of enemies, or more effectively, use Biotic Focus before so you can take damage you might come across after the blink.
I actually found that maxing out poison strike and stocking up on the health/power aspects of the character strength upgrades actually did much better than trying to make this a weapon dependent character. Once I maxed out poison strike to the point where it was a one to two hit kill for most enemies and recharged in about 1.3 seconds, it became my main dealer of damage and actually made my Cabal Vanguard the most powerful character in my arsenal. Having a fully maxed out and quickly recharging poison strike makes the Cabal extremely quick moving, hard to kill, and deadly to multiple enemies at once. Plus, you forgot to mention that it allows you to go through walls, making you extremely mobile and able to get to the other side of a map (with almost total invisibility) in the matter of a few seconds. In fact, if you ask me, Poison Strike is a bit overpowered. It makes your Cabal effectively a game-ender once equipped correctly. Doesn't have many weaknesses.
Cranial Toxicity Very much agreed on this; Poison strike does as much damage to all health types as Incinerate does versus armor only, plus it can detonate all types of combos. Plus it makes you invulnerable for around a second, AND it gives you the standard for biotic charge-type attacks 50% DR for 4 seconds after using it. That's why I've never understood taking the shield boost evolution on Biotic Focus, honestly; If you're about to be hit and need an invulnerability window, use Poison Strike. If you're taking dot damage, use poison strike. If you need to damage your enemies...use poison strike. It literally does just about everything. Sure, it doesn't actually regenerate your shields, but if you take the double strike evolution, with proper timing you can get 2 consecutive seconds of complete invulnerability, which is very nearly long enough for your shields to start regenerating in the middle of combat. And after doing that, assuming you took the other biotic focus evolution, you'll be taking a cumulative -95% damage(45% from BF, 50% from Poison Strike), making you very nearly invulnerable. Heck, if you heavy melee immediately(another cumulative 50% DR) you will be 145% immune to damage for another second or so, more than enough time to not only start regenerating shields, but for Poison Strike to cool down, letting you get ANOTHER 2 seconds of immunity to damage. I've literally run straight up to turrets and poison striked them to death without going down or even taking significant damage. Unfortunately the cabal doesn't really have any options for quickly taking down large armored targets...against mooks she just destroys because a double poison strike plus a little gunfire is more than enough to take down anything small, up to phantoms and other medium strength troops, but she really slows down versus heavier targets like atlases and praetorians and whatnot. A darn shame, really. Still, the ability to be nearly completely invincible has to be worth something, right? :D
demiserofd That is a very interesting point. I will definitely try a melee build sometime. I went with blades, focus and weapon damage passives because i mostly play on gold or platinum and i need the weapon damage to take out large enemies while staying safe. Poison strike tactics work very well on small enemies, but on higher difficulties you have less and less opportunities to use it as a damage ability. Some medium enemies will resist even 2 PSs and you will end up in harms way a lot more (especially on plat). I mostly use it as an escape mechanic and use focus to restore my shields. Biotic focus can really save your ass especially when you are fired on by ranged enemies or you get a DOT ability when you are low on health that would otherwise kill you (like a Banshee's warp). A PS and melee build is a lot of fun and pretty useful in silver/gold, but on plat i find that using weapons and nightshade blades is a lot more effective a strategy on her. I guess it is up to playstyle though :). I use this build: kalence.drupalgardens.com/me3-builder#60!3902535!!23W53313!3089C
Poison Strike gets you killed on higher difficulties. One of the worst things you can do in ME3 Multiplayer is to end up in locations you don't want, losing cover and attack angles and becoming vulnerable to hidden or spawning enemies. And Poison Strike's damage is negligible to Platinum bosses, while putting you into perfect range for enemies to stun or insta-kill you..
I disagree categorically. First of, it doesn't get you killed, because if you're running a proper build, poison striking gives you 85-95% damage resistance for four seconds after using it, depending on how you spec your biotic focus. Secondly, 'places you don't want' implies it's ever taking you anywhere but where you want to go. That means you haven't used it enough to get a feel for where it places you on use. Practice. Finally, RE: platinum, it's actually easier on plat than some golds, because it straight up deletes phantoms and all other mooks, which are completely lacking against some enemies in gold. Why bother chasing after damage-sponge bosses when you can be all around the map killing easier enemies at a much higher rate? The Cabal has the highest mobility of any class in the game, it's MADE to go hunt them down. Finally, as for damage; Poison Strike does 5950 damage, over a 5m radius, every ~3 seconds. AND it detonates explosions. That's not low damage. Get good, son.
"Cabal has the highest mobility of any class in the game?" That's a noob statement if I've ever heard one. The Alliance Infiltration Unit and any Drell would leave her in the dust. Get fucked, "son".
Unlocked the Cabal Vanguard the other day and managed to keep up with my teammates in several matches. It's a little different from the Manguard, so I could use some practice getting used to this one.
Reserves pack's description says that it has higher chances for characters. But if you want ultra-rares much more frequent, go for Premium Spectre Pack.
Thnaks for all the help, when i started i was so bad and p/ssed most the time because i didnt find my niche in most classes, and appreciate your help, Thanks, although health your too god for me i have too fully spec becauseim just so careless most the time, (i didnt know ravager goo did damage until a few months ago/wow,learn somehtin new each time i play) Thanks again, great video
This is a fantastic character guide. Everyone I know who has tried this class has hated it, myself included. But your build really seems to make sense and take advantage of the unique capabilities the Cabal offers. What are your thoughts on maxing melee or health instead of Biotic Focus for anyone who doesn't want to have to rely on reflexes for staying alive? I will try my Cabal with your build, looks fantastic. I need better weapons first, though.
I wish I knew how to get multiplayer mode in my legendary edition because I love vanguard classes and this one would be the one i want to play with the most.
This was all wrong. There's two ways to build this character: melee and shooter. You don't take PS and melee (in fitness and BF) if you're building a shooter. On a melee build you go light weapon or shotgun (w/ ULM). This is one of those characters like the Collector where every skill point counts, so don't waste them on irrelevant options. The reality is that most ppl will never be able to run a melee build on gold/plat because it requires actual skill. So for br/silv, have a go at it and feel like a god but don't expect a similar outcome on higher difficulties. Hopefully this also answers for some when and why you should take PS.
I did mine similar to yours. Not identical but with this class I could go head to head melee combat with a geth prime. My teammates were freaking out and hiding as I charged him. When I won they started laughing at me. Then let me take the rest out. Lol
I play with the Biotic Charge ability to roam around the map and poison everything. But that only works if you are the host. I can't understand why you waste point on Poison Strike when a charged melee does the same poisoning, and if I want to flee I just dodge, even forward. I find better to go Fitness Expert, dropping Poison Strike and give her a better (and heavier) weapon and go with it.
I preffer to max up Poison Strike and powers over weapon. I Poison Strike a group in one direction then quickly used it agaimg before they can turn and attack me. Spec her for Power and Melee damage (all her abilities (except biotic focus, even then it boosts her melee damage while active) scale with melee damage, as well as their DoT, and her DoT can stack). Also, if survival is an issue you can spec for a little damage resistance in biotic focus. When playing as her, your main goal should be stacking as many DoTs on the enemy as possible.
