I don't suppose with that wiring config that a trailer like this will work with a WD hitch?

Not sure why it wouldn't work with weight distribution? Actually, the tube frame tends to work better. Not only that, with the wiring ran inside, it's out of the way. Also, the placement of the breakaway battery is out of the way, unlike some that put it at the midpoint of an A-frame arm, which would be in the way.

Thanks for the quick reply. @ :36, it seems like that grommet and the solenoid(?) that's mounted next to it would be in the way of the bracket or the bars on a WD hitch. Maybe I'm wrong....

Not sure what weight distribution you are using, but any I've ever seen are under-slung. The only thing you generally have to worry about is placement of the breakaway battery box, which is often in the way on some trailers mounted on the A-frame, which means moving it to a different location, or using a face mounted bolt through attachment on the tongue, like is often used on V-nose box trailers.
