This was their first headbanging song. After releasing this song on their first album, TW were constantly asked who hurt them so bad as the album had many breakup songs. Their answer was always the same - they read a lot and make up stories. No, they have not experienced romantic heartbreak.
That's what I figured! I find it refreshing honestly. We home school and are continually relieved that our 17 year old isn't really interested in dating yet and isn't "pushed" to have a boyfriend by her peers, as was the norm back when I was in school. I feel like at this age, (just knowing what I went through) you're not really capable of dealing with such intense emotions and heartbreak. I thought I was going to die when my boyfriend broke up with me at 17. I laugh now because it's so trivial on comparison to my life from then on... but at the time it was the end of the world and I didn't deal with it well. These young ladies are focused on something so much bigger and better and I love to see it in this world or debauchery and corruption... they offer us a light.
This song was aimed at the music industry and not a person. If this was about a person I wouldn't to be that guy, TWA would put some serious hurt on him!

He graduated with a 4.2 GPA and is taking his time picking a college he wants to attend. He has many female friends, but none that he's interested in dating, even though they hang out and even go camping together. His friends group are amazing, smart, and really good looking kids, but they only care about figuring out what they want to do. I have nearly zero ability to relate, but I can appreciate. Something happened that we missed, but God love them for trying to figure out their own life before getting involved with someone else. ❤️⚡🤘
Hope you noticed the synchronized hair flips (twice) from Ale and Pau and also the synchronized guitar swings from Ale and Dany (twice) during this song...they are so in tuned with each other it is amazing. Survive is my favorite song by The Warning. I think that part of what makes it a great song is that the first part of it is about a breakup, and dealing with the fallout of it. The anger and the hurt. Then the outro has a completely different feel. The breakup is over, and you have moved past it, and the energy picks up.
I saw some older videos of when they played this at a small venue, Dany would run off stage and hop around through the crowd (with Charles) during the instumental and come back up on stage before the ending

Pensé lo mismo, Ale ya tocaba esta canción con 12 años y un bajo que parecia ser más grande que ella, y ahora verla hacer coreo con Dany en las guitarras, y luego con Pau moviendo sus cabezas, aunque extraño el comienzo con el piano ver que ésta canción que me conectó mucho con ellas después de seis años la tocan y la sigo sintiendo como una de mis canciones favoritas de la banda. Survive siempre tendrá un lugar especial en mi corazón y como las cosas cambian, en aquel entonces protegía mucho a Pau y pensaba que podía ser la lider cantante, porque las canciones que ella cantaba me llegaban más, hoy disfruto de escuchar las tres voces y siento a Ale como la protegida, aunque no lo necesite, pero los tiempos cambian y segiran cambiando en el futuro para los que estamos atentos a lo que ellas hacen. i got warned about 6 years ago with dust to dust, best band ive heard as we say in the uk for donkeys years, back in the day in the 80's i was into a band called rock goddess. female power trio, 2 sisters in that band, they also started out very young, the warning are a bit more varied than rock goddess was, though there is a similarity or two, and in rock goddess the drummer was the quiet one !, quite a bit of stuff on here, if interested, start with a song called heartache, they might raise an eyebrow or even two !!
