True. However, many who turn their life around only do so AFTER a great fall. It is then that the embarrassment of what is brought to light causes them to see life through a different lens. At least he stood up and publicly admitted what he did wrong. Most people would not do that. I've known plenty of people that cheated on their spouse. The problem I see is that he still has authority over a ministry. God does forgive, but sin of this nature does have consequences. The scripture of Timothy written buy Paul explains the authority figure should be blameless without fault and person of faith over his own house, meaning his own family. When king David committed the wickedness with Bathsheba it took the prophet Nathan to reveal it to David because of his pride. David suffered greatly for his sin. So as a pastor and leader getting in front of a crowd of people and crying your eyeballs out over a sin that you knew that would be detrimental to your testimony to Christ as a minister and now is ok is really sad.

The problem I see is that he still has authority over a ministry. God does forgive, but sin of this nature does have consequences. The scripture of Timothy written buy Paul explains the authority figure should be blameless without fault and person of faith over his own house, meaning his own family. When king David committed the wickedness with Bathsheba it took the prophet Nathan to reveal it to David because of his pride. David suffered greatly for his sin. So as a pastor and leader getting in front of a crowd of people and crying your eyeballs out over a sin that you knew that would be detrimental to your testimony to Christ as a minister and now is ok is really sad.
