- PakWheels is back with yet another comparison review episode. This time we bring you IsuzuDmax Vs ToyotaRevo.
This review of the two pickup trucks will be looking at the exterior, interior, engine, and safety features of both pickups to see which is better and why.

Exterior:
Starting off with Toyota Revo, the pickup has a very aggressive and stylish front end with a massive bumper and a chrome grille. The new Revo is also based on the Toyota New Global Architecture design where Toyota has started to focus more on aggressive and sharp designs instead of subtle and soft looks. The massive front chrome grille blends in with the projection headlamps. Revo has a massive hood scoop, which was present in the 3.0 Diesel variant. The front bumper also houses standard fog lamps.
D-Max, on the other hand, has also a stylish front. D-Max also has projection headlamps but the design isn’t as good as Revo’s. The front end has an even massive grill than Revo and in chrome, which seems a bit excessive and does not compliment the overall styling of the pickup. The chrome trim is also present on the fog lamp housing but doesn’t add much to the styling of the pickup.
Interior:
Both pickups (almost) have an all-black interior with some silver accents here and there. Overall the cabin of Revo looks more pleasing since there is leather on the door trims; seats are in brownish-beige color, which makes the interior a little less dull.
Engine and Transmission:
D-Max has a 3.0 Litre intercooled turbocharged engine that produces 163hp at 3200 rpm and 380 Nm of torque at 1800-2200 rpm mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission with a sequential gearbox. Revo currently comes with a 2.8 Litre intercooled turbocharged engine that produces 174 hp at 3400 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 1600-2400 rpm mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with a sequential gearbox. D-Max, equipped with a bigger engine, still fails to produce more horsepower and torque as compared to Revo. Interestingly, while D-Max may be less powerful than Revo, it is 200kg lighter than Revo.
Safety:
The common safety features in both pickups include dual front SRS airbags, immobilizer, Hill Descent Control (HDC), Traction Control, Hill Ascend Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Emergency Brake Signal, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), 3-Point ELR Seatbelts, and ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors, etc. Revo offers a driver-side knee airbag as well.

You discussed specs in great detail, but whenever I watch a car review I want to know things that are not in the spec sheet. I can easily google all the features but what I cannot google is how these cars drive, which is more comfortable, which is more stable, which has less cabin noise etc.. and at the end based on the reviewers driving experience the viewers want a verdict on which vehicle is better.. something for Pakwheels to ponder upon

This Revo vs D Max review is 180 degrees opposite from the one posted at the time of D Max launch. At that time revo failed a test, it had lower stability n comfort & lower acceleration as compared to d max. Very Strange ! You loose credibility Mr. Suneel

Even if it was a paid review, ISUZU is not a bad car at all at that time. But now since it has crossed 5million price point Hilux is just a reliable purchase. Thats the point.

Why are people Getting annoyed by this comparison. Sunil is right. Ab difference 7 8 lakh Ka reh Gaya ha. And Toyota has far better resale and service as compared to D-Max. D-Max is an excellent vehicle But I also agree K Revo is No slouch either. I personally prefer the Interior and Build Quality of Revo over D-Max. Yes, D-Max is more comfy on the Road And Feels Grippier But That Being Said, It feels Genuinely Slower to Revo. Revo has much better performance on low revs and Is better in fuel efficiency too.

Drive, Comfort, Maintainence & Resale is all that matters.
Drive aur comfort Bhi Equal kar lo to resale ma Koi Jor nai Toyota ka
And it's much easier to Maintain any Toyota. Also Toyota is Well-Renowned as a very Reliable Manufacturer.
So it's a no brainer to buy Revo. 6 mahinay chala K pasand Na Bhi aye to utnay ka he sale hojata within days.
So for me Revo takes the crown

Nice review but would've preferred if more focus was given on the drive conparison, yes they feel like SUVs but I believe maneuverability and handling of Isuzu is superior than revo . Also any offroad drive comparison in future maybe?

With its 3 litre Turbo diesel.
The pakistan Isuzu site states it wrong .
They are quoting the 1.9L Turbo's Hp .

Well my experience so far with pkwheel inspction is v bad,
1 . Sheduled inspection, was told will receive a call which i never did.
2. C)nce I called them again first they refused to acknowledge their fault and later some how
excepted that we missed to call back.
3. I asked them to do the inspection today which they again refused on the plea being already v bz.
4. Requested them to do it same day as already 2x days were waisted and due to sunday next day it
will again be delayed...but to no vai
Being an excellent and one of the kind service it ache me to have such kind of responce from ones
who actually is working against the same kind of crap services...

I have driven both revo and dmax... hands down Dmax wins.. comfort and mileage is better..
Maybe because of such reviews after sales will get hurt but for those who want the best engine plus a comfort drive in a truck then dmax should be your choice

Revo doesn't have rear screen defogger but Isuzu has. I drove Isuzu and Revo once and I believe that Isuzu is way more comfortable and bulky than the Revo. The Isuzu is more like a tundra but Revo, I feel is like it's predecessors.

Alhumdulilah i own Dmax and my close friend and partner owns Revo.. i have practically driven both in and out of city thousands of KMs..
Isuzu beats in comfort and long drive..
Revo for interior looks and all... however personally for me the cleaner simpler looks matter for me hence Isuzu no issue..
Right now after around 2 years Dmax is giving same milage and comfort but Revo has reduced in comfort and suspension.. this might be due to driving Habbits and all..
Anyway.. very much satisfied with Isuzu product...Dmax..

I have personally owned 18 hilux revo with 1gd and now currently i have d max. Comfort wise, posture wise and even DAC on isuzu and handling is far better than revo. Yes in aesthetics and looks revo is superior

Sunil Sahab....u told is in first review review of Smax that it's much better in stability than Revo....u didn't mention this big difference here.....plz have some light on this point....
Although the power figures of revo are much higher but isuzu have way better dynamics and off road capability then Revo. Isuzu is soo much power even it can tow such a heavy vehicles but Revo does not have such capabilities and feel of power. Even in onroad acceleration Dmax is soo quick hy then revo

Internationally Isuzu now comes with a smaller 1.9L turbodiesel engine which is on par with toyota, it's just that it is not sold in pakistan. Moreover in India it also comes with leather seats, automatic transmission, stability control and 6 airbags. Thai version is pretty loaded too.
When isuzu is trying to compete and people are buying new entree which in past videos you were a supporter of. My Question is why you came with this comparison ??? Are u insane or what??
