    This lock came from 'tacitguardian' (th-cam.com/users/tacitguardian) who found it laying around. It's a beautiful brass padlock from LOCKWOOD. Here's were I first picked the lock and took it apart th-cam.com/video/qucKOd-p-mg/w-d-xo.html. In this video I extract the core,
    repinn the lock and make a key for it. Finally it get picked ;-) Have fun :-)

    this video shows me that this lock would still function without any tumblers due to the retainer) i may try your trick of pulling the plugs out and turning them upside down and refit without tumblers .. (found it without a key)

      great video, shows me why My straight pics (cheapies) probably don't work on My lock if there's a long pin on number 4 in the way of a short pin on number 5 for example.

    Hey what key blank did you use and did you have to modify it? Thanks

    • @Potti314
      @Potti314  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a CES blank that a locksmith gave to me. It was the best fit for the keyway. No modification needed but that blade is a bit too shallow.

    What do you think about Key Cutter: th-cam.com/video/U4OilLlcKYs/w-d-xo.html

    • @Potti314
      @Potti314  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great tool, but I usually don't need to duplicate keys. Also I'm not sure if it also works fine with steel blanks.

    • @obijanjebrave
      @obijanjebrave 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for my undefined question. I mean, do you think that this Key Cutter can be used for Key Impressioning?

    • @Potti314
      @Potti314  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, I've never done impressioning. Perhaps not accurate enough.

    i have a brass padlock that just so happens to be a cheap chinese padlock that i got for free by someone who wanted to get rid of it and it is GROSS. it looks about the same as your lock before you restored it (exept for the shackle), so maybe i will restore that thing one day.
