The first song I ever looked up how to play on guitar was Layla many years ago, about 10 years ago, and Marty taught me how to play it! In the original video he talked about how he went to the concert, and in that moment he knew he loved guitar! I haven't seen Eric play it live, but when I heard that song, I was mesmerized. Marty taught simply the intro, and I loved every second of it. Still my favorite lick today. I played it all the time then, and still do now! Been a follower ever since! I got married last April, this was the song my wife and I first danced to, My wife bought me my dream guitar for Christmas so I’m going to learn this secretly so can play it for her on our 1 year anniversary coming up :) thanks Marty.... now if only there was a Marty of voice lessons haha!
Mate, I hope you get this after all this time/ Singing is easy. If you can talk you can sing. What you need to learn is how to pitch. Meaning that you have to make your voice like a flute and hit the right vibrations. So you practice with your vowels eee ooow ohhh aaah eerrh. Now play every note you know on your guitar and practice all the vowel sounds until you nail it. And don't do anything weird. practice as though you are talking. Hope this finds you and helps

I learned more songs in this Corona virus "Stay In Place" era than any other time in my life.. And I am actually loving it .. I lost 10 lbs. As I went on vegetarian diet And learned 20 songs from Marty's old videos 👍
Marty you're the only guitar teacher I have and can afford was subscribed to your old channel and now on the new one have been learning from you for awhile now and I've been begging and pleading and waiting for you to do a lesson on the song "beer" by reel big fish it's impossible to find it on any TH-cam channel and you're the only person I think can do it properly man please consider it it's hard to find any good ska lessons and I'm losing my mind wanting to play that damn song lol hope this reaches ya and hope you consider it itd be a nice change up to your videos to throw some lessons on ska chords thanks and keep up the good work

Hey Marty ! Here is a suggestion ... but it might be too esoteric ... "I'm A Man" cover of the classic by Hans Theessink. It may not be popular enough .. I understand if so. He does a cool slow bluesy version of "Sympathy For The Devil" too. While I am slow bluesy versions ( again, maybe too esoteric ) "Don't Be Cruel" by Billy Swan. Love your lessons since day one ... many years ago !

On your intro on the song perfect when you go to the E,minor you keep your thumb plucking the low E string the A and D strings aren't touched .
