    I enjoyed your technique of using the more saturated colors underneath. It really makes the outer layer pop. I think as artists we like to add a little something to them.this turned out great!

    Going black to white to check values is such a great idea, i never thought of that! PS you have an awesome accent- its nice to hear when getting explained too lol.

      Thank you 😊
      I have been told that some people listen to my tutorials to fall asleep... not sure whether that's a compliment or not haha

    Brilliant work. Extremely talented. I'm new to your channel and trying to watch a video (or two 😉) a day. I'm quite overwhelmed by all the different mediums and tools you use. I want to try them all! I'm a new learner to practising art and find it all fascinating. But want to run before I can walk 😬. Trouble is I'm spending more time watching (your channel and others) than doing 😄.

      I'm glad you're enjoying the tutorials!
      You can always start with one medium, get used to that, then add another when you feel comfortable (that's what I did - but it evolved quickly haha) 😊

    Hi Kirsty, I have a question. I use soft pastels, but have not ventured into pan pastels yet. Do you eat through the applicators quickly? Thanks for the great video!

    • @KirstyRebeccaFineArt
      @KirstyRebeccaFineArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really, as long as you press VERY lightly (pressing too hard is the main reason people wear away their tools) - also try using the bigger sponges as often as possible because the little ones wear away quicker so it's best to save those for the smaller areas 😊

    Hi im new to pan pastell
    I usually use smooth bristol paper
    If i use the pan pastell can i use them on smooth paper or not?

    • @KirstyRebeccaFineArt
      @KirstyRebeccaFineArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't recommend using pastels on any paper except Clairefontaine Pastelmat if you plan on adding multiple layers and would like a smooth finish!
      You can technically use Pan Pastels on smoother papers but you probably won't get more than one layer because there isn't enough tooth in the paper
      Hop that helps 😊
