How To Make a Rc Jet Plane: Diy Cardboard SU-27 Rc Airplane

This is a 100% cardboard scratch build SU-27 Rc Jet Plane. A little advanced for a beginner due to this not being a slow flyer. I changed the original motor I had installed from 1400kv-2200kv motor, and prop from 8 inch-6x4 inch prop. I’m using a 40amp esc with elevon mixing. I used wooden dowels to strengthen the wings to avoid flexing in flight, and packaging type for added color to increase visibility. I hope you enjoyed this video! Hi Chris, also, could you make a list of components and how much they weigh? For future videos, why not try unusual RC models - out of cardboard - all to a certain scale, say 1:20, maybe the X-planes. Paint your canopy black. I am going through all your old videos...

Cardboard is easier to get here in NZ than foam board so great to see you using cardboard. What thickness is it btw? It would be interesting to see what a KFM type airfoil would do for flight performance etc. btw which direction for the flutes in the cardboard? Thanks. Laurie NZ. 😊

Thank you. The one that I used for the SU27 build is a B flute 3mm or above, 40/1/4x34. It’s slightly thinner then the R.L. Adams Readi Board which is 3/16" thick. I got these from my job. I hope this helps.
