I grew up eating mostly homemade food, we bought bread, I will tell you, it has stayed with me through childhood. I still use fresh and whole ingredients, your kids are blessed to have such wonderful meals and plenty of fresh air❤
Question: I was born and raised in another country and 99% of our food is homemade. Is this not common in the states? I dont remember one thing my mom bought from a can (besides peaches, for some odd reason she loveeed canned peaches lol!) What do you define as homemade?? Stuff grown at home? Or even stuff bought at the supermarket but that are "fresh"? Sorry for asking I lovee Lisa's video, but the comments and titles made me wonder if it is uncommon to have food made at home in other places in the world!
@@sandrinebertola8013 I am Brazilian! I am glad I am not the only one asking that lol! I always wondered how Americans eat since I see a lot of youtubers talking about eating homemade food when in Brazil we eat homemade food 7 times a week lol!
@@cass3561 typical Americans eat processed foods (from a box bought in the store). We consider “homemade” to be real/whole ingredients that are grown or bought
@@cass3561 i'd say it is more common then it seems for Americans to cook homemade. I consider homemade things that are home grown or store bought unprocessed foods. From scratch would be the same. If its a gravy from scratch then that means i do not use anything pre packaged from the store. I grew up that way myself and i cook that way as well. I have friends that cook from scratch as well. It doesnt seem uncommon to me but it is probably because of who I associated with or the groups of people my family was around growing up and also because my family cooks that way.
Omg! Theo looking up at you as you’re talking- my heart just melted! These recipes look so good. Do your kids eat most of these meals? Mine are so fussy.
Hello Lisa my name is Serah from Germany. I've been following you for over 11/2 years now. I love to follow you and your lovely family. I really like your way of life. Fresh cooking hardly any finished products (I still use a few, unfortunately). And I also find that less is more super inspiring! I didn't want to write much... but you keep saying you have a lot of milk... have you ever thought about making your own butter? I know it's a lot of work.... but I think it suits you. Kind regards from German from Serah
They way Baby looks at you is the purest love of all that we ever know aside from Christ on this earth. Flooded me with the most beautiful memories today.
Theo is having a GREAT vestibular system development with all that daily rocking! 🥰🥰👏🏼👏🏼 Wearing babies is such a great “old fashioned” skill (in honour of your recent podcast episode) 🥰
To make frying chicken easier, have you ever tried "butter chicken"? Egg and flour the chicken pieces, place a generous amount of oil(butter olive oil, coconut oil, whatever your family will eat) on a cookie sheet. Place the chicken on the oils cookie sheet for about 12 min at 375, then flip the chicken, and cook til done. Very similar to fried, but less oil and great for large crowds.
I did enjoy the video but most of all watching that beautiful angel looking and watching his mommy😍😍😍 you are an awesome mom and a great super woman. Love you Lisa take care beautiful.
I usually crushed the salmon bones with my fingers and mix them in when I make salmon patties. No one even knows they are there! Those hamburger buns were beautiful! Thanks for all you great recipes and tips!
It'd be very interesting if you made a video on how much you pay for groceries/food each week or month. Or tips on how you budget/pick the right things to make them last longer!
I wish I had grown up in a cooking home… for some reason I absolutely love cooking even though I didn’t quite grow up with it at home. However, I do feel I miss having had those experiences and recipes passed on to me. Today I feel I have to constantly refer to recipes and how tos as I lack that heritage. Thank u to creators like you Lisa, for making this possible!! (I’d love to live for a week with you and cook along. I feel I’d pick everything up so quickly and perfectly!) 💛🌞🌊
I finally got a channel so I can comment , etc. Lisa, I just love love your videos and your beautiful family. You are a inspiration to me. I have learned so much from you. Thank you so much and keep it up. I grow up in a family of 12 so when I see your family it reminds me of the good old days. You inspire me to be healthier and I have gotten a love for real homemade food and natural living. Thank you🤗
I am so impressed what delicious meals you can make look so easy!! Your kids may not appreciate all you do now but I can assure you they will later!! I grew up in a home where my mom cooked our meals everyday...plus we had no internet or cell phones...and I now realize I was a blessed kid
That baby's so sweet, the way he looks at you. 🥹 Can't wait to make some pork chops, gravy and mashed potatoes. We're not big gravy people so I'm not that experienced at making it. I was just thinking, would love to make a strawberry vinaigrette for a salad with strawberries, so summery. Pasta looks good. I want to learn how to make bread and rolls more, beginner here. Beautiful family, love your home and kitchen. Blessings to y'all.
Wow! Your children are so blessed to have you as their mother! Your dishes look absolutely amazing and so delicious! That’s the kind of cooking I grew up with and still love it and I still cook that way! I’m the youngest of 14 children so our mom had to cook a lot but we never went hungry! She was an amazing woman, my dad died when I was 4 years old and she still had 9 children left at home, but we are so very blessed!💐💐
Have you tried a tortilla press? It works so much easier for me then rolling them out. just put a ball of dough and press. Thank you for all the sharing you do for us.
The thumbnail 😍 this is such a precious photo. ❤️ It brings back all the memories from dinner time when I was little in our family of 7. It is such a joy to follow you along. Thank you for sharing your week.
Definitely baking some salmon fritters for dinner tonight 🇬🇧 was one of my baby boys first meals as he was around weaning age this time last year and I was inspired by your video then 🥰 thank you so much
🌿🐇YUM!! Lisa it all looks so DELICIOUS!! My precious Mother always made us Salmon patty’s and she diced up green bell pepper and onion in ours (eggs obviously ☺️) but the outside she dusted with meal. They were so DELICIOUS.. Happy Spring Lisa! 🌿🐇
Very interesting meals youve shared with us Lisa. Thanks! Your baby boy has grown and he is so adorable and is watching you so sweetly as you speak, precious!🥰
Your poor future daughter in laws! Haha they will have HUGE shoes to fill. Just kidding Lisa lol thank you again for the inspiration. Can’t wait to try out that gravy over our own organic pasture raised pork 👍🏼
Yummy yummy yummy. So good and healthy and wholesome. Your little baby just adores you. So sweet What a lovely hardworking woman and mother. Thank you for doing these episodes.
The salmon burgers looked great. I forget that's a possibility. The pork chops will be tasty. Is that Theo we hear becoming more verbal now? So cute. Mm, love quinoa. Rarely make it with red meat. Honey mustard is a superlative condiment due to complementary flavors.
I know you've mentioned being conscious of how you present food and the different angles of the camera. But that clip where you assembled the chicken wraps was just beautiful! I'm not a fan of honey mustard but you had me drooling!
Wonder what your children will think of fast food and processed food when they get out in the world you've spoiled them in a blessed way good for you love your little family
Little Theo is growing so fast that it won’t be long until you will need to retrain your brain and hands to divide dough and such into nine parts instead of eight. These recipes and meal ideas do make me think of spring. One good thing about many of your recipes is their versatility. Just take the basic ingredients and add what is in season or what you have on hand.
Just wanted to say that I love your music choices in these videos. It’s not super common (in that I don’t hear the same song on half the videos I watch), it’s calming and peaceful, and it doesn’t have words (some of the songs in meal prep videos have lyrics I disagree with and that really bothers me).
You are sounding so much better, still a little scratchy. I jut love the wild flowers in the vase behind you. I have 2 of the exact same pots that you always use and I LOVE them. Is that chicken recipe somewhere it looks so delicious.
Hey! I just bought your summer cookbook and I’m so excited to look through it. I was able to download the cookbook but I didn’t get the pantry checklist or thanksgiving freebies. Do those come through in a separate email? Thanks so much!
I always get the salmon with the skin and bones intact. I smush them up and no one can tell they are there. There is much nutritional value in them and I promise you you'll never even know they are there!
Hey, Lisa, I just purchased your meal plan. I have a question, I don't have mature starters for my bread. Any way around this? Also, I am gluten sensitive. Can you recommend a gluten free swap(s) for the bread? I'm fairly new to not eating gluten, so I'm not sure about replacements. Really appreciate the hard work that went into this meal plan, its beautiful to look at and the menus look fantastic!
