Fun Fact: The Developers Of All These Rom Hacks Have Said That Once All The Rom Hacks Are Fully Finished, They Will Collab And Make The Ultimate Version Of Platinum :D
Weirdly enough, custom colours related to IVs would add a new weird layer to competitive battling: Your opponent has a chance to guess which Pokémon build are you using based on their coloring. It might sound ridiculous but this is the same community that knows for a fact that they don't have to be as wary of Female Greninja because only males have Battle Bond.
i think this is totally a fair point and if the custom colors ever came to mainline games it shouldnt be based on IVs and should instead just be some other RNG factor
@@PurpleThunderNE Maybe a combination of Trainer ID plus IVs would do. Event Pokémon would still all look the same but at least Player bred ones would look distinct.
Pearl was a game that was in my DS Lite for days at a time. I played Pearl/HeartGold/Platinum for over 250+ hours (Postgame content/rematches and whatnot).Haven't had the chance to replay any of the Gen 4 games again and with Platinum moving Fantina's gym to 3rd was much appreciated
I invested way more time in pokemon games, but in Gen 2 because I had Stadium 2 and needed to juggle between Yellow and Crystal to build competitive teams for all the cups, I became a pokemon breeder to make Brock envious (ofc Gen 2 was pretty basic in terms of mechanics) because one of the cups had a lvl5 and pre-evolution only limit for legal pokemon to use, which meant that you had to breed specific pokemon for the moves, TMs were single use so you had to replay several times if you needed extra copies of a certain TM. I transferred my Yellow caught Mewtwo into Crystal and it took me about 100 runs with Mewtwo soloing the entire Johto League for lvl100. Stadium had the library also, which was where I truly became an expert, though at the time I always went for raw power, coverage movesets because I didn't realize the true potential of technical builds. I learned which pokemon were the strongest hitters on each type, which were not worth investing in because of the lack of access to good STAB moves that plagued so many pokemon back then, and because Phys/Sp split wasn't a thing either the moves' types determined whether they were good or not with each pokemon instead. Because of Pokemon Stadium 2 I probably put over 5000 hours in Gen, 2 and Stadium combined.

@@Eminster By the time they gave it flare blitz it was already in the dumpster. But it'll always be my favorite eeveelution, competitive viability be damned
If you're nuzlocking, I would argue that it's the best evolution. It solo sweeps the 2nd gym with black belt as long as you have a nature that doesn't reduce its attack. And it's an incredible pokemon for the first major run killer, Aaron. It solo kills 4 of his pokemon easily, and it only struggles against drapion. Oh yeah on top of all that it learns guts or flash fire which is AMAZING for nuzlocking. Flash fire is crazy good because AI often make predictable moves which let's you pivot into boosted fire attacks which sweeps, or you can guts facade/flame wheel to sweep. This set of patches sounds like the Crystal Clear of Sinnoh. Get things done and no need to worry about the game's limitations slowing your roll to becoming a Pokemon Master

@@lazarus1540 when I played Renegade Platinum I patched Renegade onto my Platinum ROM and then patched the speed up onto Renegade Platinum. I assume the others would work the same way and you could just layer them on top of each other.

Okay, the colour tone hack has *GOT* to be a feature in mainline Pokémon games. Or at least be implemented onto Pokémon that lack gender differences so they at least have some sort of difference between their gender counterparts, even if it's subtle.
The thing is pokemon do have differences between genders for most if not for all pokemon that have different genders. They just tend to be really minor changes. (an example is starly's crest on its head changes depending on the gender), another is Pikachu's tail has a heart shape for females.

Didn't realize this was a year old when I started typing this and I wonder how great the progress being made is. PokeMMO is the best way to play gen 4, it's the best way to play every gen up to Black and White actually, and seemlessly hop between the games/regions. Johto is missing sadly but all it's Pokemon are available.
PokeMMO has that going for it, by fitting all the regions into a single game it offers a ton of content at once, last time I played it was years ago and I'm almost sure it didn't even have Gen 4 graphics, but maybe they updated it?
Renegade Platinum seems super cool, but i am a bit turned off with the additions of Fairy and type changes for certain pokemon, seems like that would break comparability with vanilla Platinum saves and the ability to transfer to Gen 5 and Beyond
you usually dont add a romhack to your game if you already have a save file or are trying to trade pokemon from it, most people use romhacks within emulators
I love gen 4 as my introduction gen when they first came out all that time ago. But I would love to see a romhack exactly like following platinum but with a modern exp share. I absolutely hate and don't miss old school grinding.
I'll surely take having gen 9 pokemon in the game. But also, a QOL improvement I was thinking of would be of a better way to level up and ev train Pokemon. They could pair up and depending on how much the mentor Pokemon is higher level, the trainee could exponentially gain levels. The species and nature matching would help too, on top of the level criteria. Most of all, if we could get a way to organise boxes like in Pokemon Go and Let's Go, while also having the regular view. Boxes, in general need an overhaul. And if we could have training Boxes, like in Poke Pelago, that would be great too imo. Some other Boxes would be ideal too, something between Pokepelago and Pokejobs.
Here’s my ideas for future mod hacks. 1. Legends Return: Pokémon introduced in Legends Arceus are available complete with abilities. 2. Kricketun’s Choir: Fully Voice acted human characters. 3. Black Ideals and White Reals: Unova Pokémon added for the Gen 5 engine.
Can I add a 4th one. New legends plus. A new game plus but everything is harder the pokemon that attack you now shoot more bullets like an a hat in time death wish boss.
You can’t tell me Carnivine didn’t deserve a mega evolution, better move pool , and a grass move that straight up kills bug types. Imagine being a carnivore plant that can’t eat bugs like bruh. His design is so cool but he is held back by how bad he is broooo. At least make him poison type if you’re gonna give it levitate it even has access to poison type moves. BRO I JUST REALIZED HE DOESNT LEARN POISON FANG LIKE WHAT??? WHY IS THIS NOT A THING ITS SUCH AN OBVIOUS MOVE TO GIVE IT.
Note these '60fps' mods literally just double the internal clock(or engine or whatever) speed, so even though it technically is 60fps it is why it speeds up, personally not a fan but to each their own
they did all this for pokemon brilliant diamond its very cool. basically platinum with the remakes graphics and 60fps. also includes following and a real size mod that makes it so larger pokemon actually look larger in battle rather than the same size as the enemies budew. def recommend checking it out its called pokemon luminescent.
Best Rom Hack ever imo would be Renegade Platinum, with Silast gen 5 graphics, following pokemon and either keep gen 1-4 Pokémons and use animated sprites from gen 5 or add Pokémons all the way to gen 7 (custom sprites exist out there) and keep static sprites
While I can't play any of these rom hacks due to not owning a good computer I do like hearing about them and how cool they sound. Also is that the first 9 volumes of Pokemon Adventures in the background? I see you have taste!
You might be able to emulate things if you have a decent smart phone and there are even some ways of emulating DS games on DS/3DS/Switch if you wanna dive that far :O Also yes I've had those ever since they were first rolling out, never got past the GS era but they're pretty cool!
since one of the rom hacks have gen 5 graphics. dynamaxing is possible since one of the gen 5 graphics have is zooming in and out. meaning gigantamaxed pokemons will now actually appear bigger than an wailord. also works well with the 60 fps hack and the hue changes. the mega evolutions can just copy gen 6 - 7 pokemon since the way to find stones there is by sparkles either way ill be waiting for this
Thank you for this, I currently have a Pokemon Renegade Platinum patched rom with following and the custom IV colors. I am loving every second. Maybe I will revisit the game again when the GenV graphics are implimented, but I actually prefer GenIV's? Maybe that's a hot take? Doesn't matter, having tons of fun.
Gen 5 was where GF really mastered the pixel art-style, but Gen 4's more top-down camera really works well for Sinnoh. Then again, it would be interesting to see the region in a new aesthetic.
Ayo if these all get pushed into the same game I'll never need another pokemon game again. Crystal Clear is amazing and all, but I always wished it could be redone on gen 4 just to have access to all of them and the follow mechanic. So when I found that both mods are usable on the same file made me so happy I dunno quite how to explain.
Kinda funny that this came across my feed today, after I was thinking of how I would rank the pokemon games. I had gen 4 below gen 3, 2 and 5. possibly below gen 1 as well. Because while the physical special split was great, gen 2 had the special split, 2 new types, held items, as well as a pretty good post game. gen 5 had the best story, hands down, and gen 3 added abilities, and IMO, Emerald had the best post game, as well as gen 3 has the best Romhacking scene. I may have to re-evaluate now. Gen 1 was cool, in the fact that it was the beginning of pokemon, but I don't have the nostalgia factor to rank it higher. I also didn't play gen 2 growing up, and have only played through it once, but I can't deny that what it did for the series as a whole really helped it out, and I would put it at rank 1, but Emerald has the nostalgia factor. Plus the new ACE found in gen 3 renewed my interest in the game, as gen 3 always manages to do.
i totally wanna get all these mods together and put the new better game on a cart to play on my ds, that would absolutely be the best pokemon experience i could hope for
I wish there was a pokemon game with all regions up to gen 5. With gen 5 graphics and the following pokemon feature kinda in the style of platium/heartgold
I don't have issues with graphics from Diamond and Pearl although I liked Heart Gold and Soul Silver more. I'm going to try the rom hacks. However, I'll tell you how the rom hacks would be even better: by adding the red and blue coloring of Pokémon Nature's from Heart Gold and Soul Silver. That way, whenever we catch a Pokémon on the Sinnoh hack rooms, we would know the stat advantage and disadvantage throughout the red or blue coloring of the Pokémon's nature. Moreover, I'm looking forward to come across a Hoenn-region based 4th Gen hack rom that can trade pokemon all the way to the original Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold and Soul Silver games through DS wireless communications using an R4 card and an original DS card. I would later try to send the caught Pokémon to the Pokémon Bank and Pokémon Home. Nevertheless, I really want a Hoenn-based 4th Gen DS hack rom because Hoenn region Pokémon must be sent from the GBA games through the Pal Park using the Drastic emulator. Hoenn Pokémon take some time to get and transfer. In addition, DS games have the physical and special attack categories, and they have the day and night feature. Plus, I can play some of the hack rooms on a DS R4 card and trade pokemon with the original DS 4th Gen games. Hope you got my points. I appreciate this video a lot, I'm going to search for that hach rom that I didn't know about. Crossing fingers that Renegade Platinum adds the red and blue coloring of Natures like in Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Regards!
The colour thing is what I've wanted in Pokemon for at least a decade. I know some shinies would have to be redesigned for it to work, but it'd be so so worth it.

@@bluetowel-reko Hi, Zim On Another Account Here And Most Of The Hacks Here Are Finished. The Only One That Hasn’t Been Finished Is The Gen 5 Graphics Mod But It's Really Close Anyways.
Omg someone got the following mechanic working in platinum? And it works with Renegade Platinum? This is beautiful! Thanks for the video about it!
I’m very happy people are still making videos about Gen 4
I never thought about the color changing mod, but thats actually really cool
BDSP made gen 4 look like a damn joke I’m so happy we got awesome rom hacks from these guys I especially LOVE the gen 5 and 4 mixed one
Bless the mod community
Didn't realize this was a year old when I started typing this and I wonder how great the progress being made is. The mod I would love to see most though (to answer the question) is the one used in Emerald Eight. Or at least more mods utilizing it. It feels so much nicer having more room to carry some more favorites alongside Pokemon that might just be there for coverage or HMs if the mod doesn't offer alternatives.
Seeing the constant updates on gen 5 graphics on twitter makes me very excited about playing the perfect version of platinum in the future combined with all these mods
Hi, I'm someone working on the gen5 graphic mod. It is not almost done, not even close yet.
This is something more gimmicky and not to the taste of everyone, but radical red gym level caps are so good…
The difficulty feature at the beginning of platinum would be neat
Other more “fan-like” features could be hisulian forms (I guess some as fossils and others as mt. Coronet evos)
*Brings Fairy Type moves to the game*
Nah, I'm good.
Ohh... I thought this channel was purplerodri and I was like he revealed his face then I read it again... Nice video btw...
💀💀💀
@@PurpleThunderNE I am just too lazy to read it completely I just read first part and assume after that... Well I subscribed to atone...
I really hope someone makes a Following Pokemon patch for Black and White, using the hidden grotto sprites would help for the gen 5 pokemon.
One thing I'm not gonna beg for but would be interesting to see would be a version of platinum that you only need one screen for to make emulation easier
I learned a lot from this so thank you 🙏🏽 I appreciate you
I love your hoodie, glasses and hair! Nice video btw :)
Thanks for this video. I'm happily playing this right now.
I always was mad that I haven't played ever finished playing through the entire game of platinum. Now when I do it agian I can play with following pokemon, 60fps and color diversity :D
Am I the only one who likes the slower health bars? I liked the suspense it built sometimes
yeah when it is going down slow and you're realizing that something is wrong and its going too down, and than it appears... A critical hit!
The problem with slow bars happens when you face someone like Blissey when it has a ridiculous amount of HP and takes time.
Im getting older and need my games to be faster 😂
It’s hilarious that this video popped into my feed because I’ve also been holding off on playing this ultimate version of Gen 4 as well! I’m waiting until they release the gen 5 graphics mods, I’m not as worried about Mega Evolution tbh
U have the link to the game?
Pls I want that. I also want to emerald, hassle and xy in gen 5 styles
@@haroldnecmann7040 I don’t have a link to it right now since the gen 5 mod isn’t finished, I’m waiting until it is before I compile all the mods together
Honestly I love how slow D&P were, it made battles so much more intense for me as a kid
Now I need to wait until some hero also mods the gen 5 games.
Thanks man now I can play moemon renegade platinum!
Honestly, i love hm, kind liked having a pokemon to us it
Renegade Platinum is already my favourite way to play pkmn anyway so I can't wait to try these out!
That color palette one looks incredible
PokeMMO is the best way to play gen 4, it's the best way to play every gen up to Black and White actually, and seemlessly hop between the games/regions. Johto is missing sadly but all it's Pokemon are available.
PokeMMO has that going for it, by fitting all the regions into a single game it offers a ton of content at once, last time I played it was years ago and I'm almost sure it didn't even have Gen 4 graphics, but maybe they updated it?
"Gen 4 in Gen 5 Graphics"
Bruh I will literally shed tears if this mod gets a successful release.
Awesome Explanation... 💕
who ever is making these rom hacks are legends i like seeing this done to my childhood game!
I hope they make mega evolutions for the gen 4 starters
i’ve tried for 24 hours straight and haven’t gotten past patching the games to actually work this is hell on earth
6:08 Oh my goodness me, is that Bambi from popular Friday Night Funkin' mod Friday Night Funkin': Vs. Dave and Bambi?
Renegade Platinum seems super cool, but i am a bit turned off with the additions of Fairy and type changes for certain pokemon, seems like that would break comparability with vanilla Platinum saves and the ability to transfer to Gen 5 and Beyond
you usually dont add a romhack to your game if you already have a save file or are trying to trade pokemon from it, most people use romhacks within emulators
@@PurpleThunderNE it would be nice to have a more "purist" version of Renegade Platinum
kinda like Shin Pokemon Red and Green exists for Red and Blue
I wish there was a full ROM that combines everything in the video without modifying the game before opening it.
great video. Not kidding, I love this.
thank you:)
Imagine with the flying mechanic of omega ruby and alpha sapphire, it would be soooo cool
I love gen 4 as my introduction gen when they first came out all that time ago. But I would love to see a romhack exactly like following platinum but with a modern exp share. I absolutely hate and don't miss old school grinding.
any update on this I see it was made 2 years ago, sounds like something I would be interested in.
One day we may see…
*Pokémon Perfect Platinum*
Flytrap: a grass version of freeze-dry that hits bug super-effectively. Give it to Carnivine and Victreebel
Note these '60fps' mods literally just double the internal clock(or engine or whatever) speed, so even though it technically is 60fps it is why it speeds up, personally not a fan but to each their own
speeds the game up to 60fps without ruining the music/sounds like it would if you pressed the speedup button on an emulator so fine by me
120 fps in Platinum next! /j
U look like that streamer guy who lives with his parents in netflix’ “happiness”
they did all this for pokemon brilliant diamond its very cool. basically platinum with the remakes graphics and 60fps. also includes following and a real size mod that makes it so larger pokemon actually look larger in battle rather than the same size as the enemies budew. def recommend checking it out its called pokemon luminescent.
funny you should comment that i have a whole video on luminescent version haha
Best Rom Hack ever imo would be Renegade Platinum, with Silast gen 5 graphics, following pokemon and either keep gen 1-4 Pokémons and use animated sprites from gen 5 or add Pokémons all the way to gen 7 (custom sprites exist out there) and keep static sprites
Lets be honest her. The ROM Hacking and Modding Community is the reason Pokemon survives like this.
i gotta hard disagree, the amount of people that play rom hacks is such a small part of the pokemon community
Very neat. Although for some reason, when actually trying it out, it feels so weird to have a following Pokémon in Platinum
Soon enough Pokémon platinum would be the ds version of firered. And i can't wait
While I can't play any of these rom hacks due to not owning a good computer I do like hearing about them and how cool they sound.
Also is that the first 9 volumes of Pokemon Adventures in the background? I see you have taste!
You might be able to emulate things if you have a decent smart phone and there are even some ways of emulating DS games on DS/3DS/Switch if you wanna dive that far :O
Also yes I've had those ever since they were first rolling out, never got past the GS era but they're pretty cool!
Mesen should run on pretty much any potato...
Pokémon Renegade Platinum + Following Platinum = Pokémon Definitive Platinum
Is there a tutorial of how to implement all these mods in renegade platinum?
I'm struggling too
would be great
Seconded
since one of the rom hacks have gen 5 graphics. dynamaxing is possible since one of the gen 5 graphics have is zooming in and out. meaning gigantamaxed pokemons will now actually appear bigger than an wailord.
also works well with the 60 fps hack
and the hue changes.
the mega evolutions can just copy gen 6 - 7 pokemon since the way to find stones there is by sparkles
either way ill be waiting for this
Ultima Platinum coming sooner or later with all this mods
Very cool video, could you make something similar but with already amazing heart gold and soul silver?
Thank you for this, I currently have a Pokemon Renegade Platinum patched rom with following and the custom IV colors. I am loving every second. Maybe I will revisit the game again when the GenV graphics are implimented, but I actually prefer GenIV's? Maybe that's a hot take? Doesn't matter, having tons of fun.
Gen 5 was where GF really mastered the pixel art-style, but Gen 4's more top-down camera really works well for Sinnoh. Then again, it would be interesting to see the region in a new aesthetic.
How did you patch it? I'm trying to play it on cfw 3ds. I have renegade platinum but no mods.
4:10 bro called Bibarrel a Bidoof lmao
Drayano didn't exactly make TMs infinite in renegade platinum, he just made it so you get 99 of them when you get each TM, still a great change though
This is an amazing mod but solo electric is really good since it's only weak to ground type so yeah.....
Omgomgomg I love this
Kinda funny that this came across my feed today, after I was thinking of how I would rank the pokemon games.
