Dylan Edwards is one of the most hard-working players I've ever seen on a rugby league field. If he doesn't get picked as the Origin fullback for NSW, I'll be absolutely shell-shocked.

Its disgraceful that edwards hasnt been picked yet.Teddy is one of my favourite players but its been time for edwards for the last 2-3 years.Fitler and andrew johns picking him and walker again just reinforces the fact it was time for change
Teddy was second in the Daly M in 2022 and has consistently been one of the blues best players. 2023 I think Edwards should have been picked though

The most stupid thing Fittler did last year was to play Tedesco in game 3. The series was lost so it was the perfect time to road test Edwards in that arena. What did anyone learn by having Tedesco play in a dead rubber? It was just a game to pad his stats.
For Madge to make his mark on the selection of his team, it should and probably will be Edwards.

EDWARDS!!! no disrespect to Tedesco but why is this even a debate. Both players are awesome in their own right but there's no way you could ignore Edwards's form at clubland and keep him out of the number 1 jersey.
Yep, anyone who thinks this is even a debate should go and watch Penrith v Easts in round 4. Edwards was MOTM and Tedesco looked like a pensioner. If Tedesco is picked it is just more proof of how the Roosters run the game and how the media suck up to them.

Doesn't matter which fullback you pick. If they pick half the penrith team like they have the past years we will lose because they make it about themselves and not the team, they dont get origin.

Last year Queensland picked Walsh over Ponga and would have done the same this year if Ponga was fit, we need to learn from that.

Edwards seems to be one of those players that given the chance to play for NSW, he would kill it so well that everyone will be thinking post game why wasn't he selected before this time. The same will apply to Sharks Hynes. Maybe its because if Edwards does get his chance, that'll be the end of Teddy.

No brainer. EDWARDS. He should have been there last year. Nothing against Teddy, & not a supporter of either club, but the only guides relevent with the recent Blues record, are form & combinations. I'm hoping Madge has the kahunas to go that way.
As a qlder, I love teddy, he's always so hard to pick and a dynamic player and I feel his experience in big gamers will trump Edwards. Teddy don't have alot of time left, at least let him go out with a bang
It is a tough decision for NSW Blues on who play as fullback James Tedesco or Dylan Edwards it all depends on who NSW Coach Michael Maguire selects when puts together his strong Blues lineup for State of Origin 1.

already played half the panthers side in the origin arena, their style doesn't suit origin.
They played half the panthers side and watched as Tedesco hogged the ball set after set after set. First half game 1 last year. Cleary passes 11 times to Tedesco for no result. He passes only TWICE to Luai and the second time Luai puts martin over. And the internet geniuses say "gee, the Penrith connection doesn't work".
Edwards is the best Full Back no question but you just know they will pick Teddy and make him captain too. How is Ramien getting overlooked too, Sharks running Riot this year has to play Hynes and Ramien

Being a Queenslander I don’t understand how you New South Welshman can say it’s time for a new fullback, after what Teddy has done for NSW. He has been a great leader for he’s club, NSW and Australia 👍🏽

Edwards should have been picked 2 years ago. Its about the type of footy you want to play not the best players in those positions. look how well that worked against QLD worst team and NSW strongest team.
NSW needs players like Cameron McInnis not a debate over Teddy or Edwards.
A new coach isn't going to sack the captain and incumbent fullback.
He'll at least give him an opportunity to show he should still be there, if NSW are 2 - 0 down thats the perfect time to bring Edwards or another FB in and then start next years series without Teddy.

These guys I think does not know anything abt selection. Dylon playing well in but can’t be picked over Tedesco bcz he performs at Origin level. Now they’re saying Latteral Mitchel can’t make it bcz of his poor performance at NRL level and yet he is the best player at Origin level. Sometimes it these guys who ruins the selection for our NSW team.
As a Queenslander, I would rather teddy 😬 Edward’s plays like a Queenslander every week.

Give Edwards the 1. He's in good form right now. I'd like Teddy to try playing the 9. He does it quite a bit for the Roosters, he'd be very dangerous from the play the ball. That's just my opinion.

Tedesco had X-factor a few years back. Right now he's just an "ex-factor."
@@daleviker5884 Tedesco has at least displayed this kind of X-Factor before, Edwards doesn't really - he is the wrong fit for the Blues' requirements.
The Blues don't really need a workhorse in their 1 per se, granted he'd be very good defensively but the Blues' problems were in generating opportunities (which is why Cody Walker worked so well in Game 3), the Blues' problems are in generating opportunities because their attack isn't creative enough to give QLD troubles and Edwards just doesn't fit there.
Walker would just capitalise on the opportunities created (which is what he's very good at), but he's not the solution to the problem. If anything, it would be a really bad idea to put Edwards in there without changing the 6 or 7 because if you chuck him in there and their 6 or 7 don't do anything good, then Edwards could cop the blame as the "saviour" but then end up losing confidence in his game.

NSW only did well in game 3 last year because it was a dead rubber, and no matter how the media try to pretend otherwise, Qld had clocked off. Walker has failed repeatedly when he's played games where the series was still alive. Secondly, Edwards is not just a workhorse. Have a look at his solo tries against the roosters and manly. He's very creative, he just happens to be a creative player who is also a workhorse. He's a big part of Penrith winning three grand finals.
Queensland would pick Edward… Walsh was picked over Ponga last year. Easy selection due to Walsh’s form. NSW will never pick Edward bcz of Tedesco and yet we all know Edward is hot favourite and proving himself to three consecutive finals with the Panthers.

James Graham couldn't be more wrong about Latrell, there is no way he will be picked for NSW going off a good game this weekend.
I think if hes available, he will be picked. Hes one of those players that if available its hard to overlook him, just for hes ability to turn a game on its head. Even though im not a big fan of Latrell, there is no doubting he is an origin player, and surrounded by the right players, can be a scary proposition for QLD.

To answer the question, yes, Teddy's time is up, it was up in 2022. Edwards not entering the team is just another chapter of Fittler absolutely squandring NSW players. Not playing Wighton at 5/8 and Latrel at center consistently in their peak was so stupid. DCE wouldnt be playing origin now if they did. Playing Nicolcockstag instead of Ferguson in game one at Suncorp was stupid. Turbo last year, stupid, then Cook instead of Murray to fill in, FFS. Last year seeing the Hammer gleefully frolicking past Teddy, falling over for the thousandth time was the kick in the guts after the wake up call we all already heard, except Freddy He should not have been allowed to be coach under one of his earlier policies which denied Mitchel, what a tool. We are definitely underdogs this year for the first time since before Freddy.
Tedesco is to slow. Out of form. Dylan edwards is way better in defence.

Origin win or lose depends on defence not who can play more flashy, picking players out of position, picking certain players in the name of club combination, not picking certain players because they've never played together or might play same side of the field, both left footed kicker or right footed, all these just myths and the reason we're losing series after series
