I really wanted to get the idea of what's inside the museum before actually going there and couldn't find any photos soI just want to say thank you for sharing those postcards to us !
I believe it was around 6 years ago, 6 years ago when the dreams started to occur. I was 11 years old and I had a dream about a magical land in which I can only describe as being awfully familiar. It was a land of wonder and beauty. Over the years I had reoccurring dreams of this land, this country. Then it happened. I saw it. I was surfing the internet when I suddenly recognised an image from some website, with a title hovering over the image saying "Spirited Away". I immediately researched this film, and discovered that when I was a child, around 5 or 6 years old, my Japanese grandfather would show me these Studio Ghibli films, they stayed with me and shaped the person that I am today. Today is the one year anniversary of his death, and all I have to say is that I loved him so much. I find it incredibly difficult to describe the feeling Studio Ghibli movies impart on me, but from now on they will always remind me of a distant relationship with my grandfather.
This comment is beautiful, I could relate. Studio Ghibli's movies were a huge part of my childhood. May your grandfather rest in peace. Thank you for sharing and stay healthy!
I was hoping to go the studio Ghibli museum but it’s sold out when I’m going to japan 😭 so sad!!! Thanks for sharing your experience though gave me a little slice of what it would be like!!!
It’s always sold out, you need to book them months ahead. I got in the first time because I was there for an exchange program, and I had to buy it in a Lawson the 2nd day I arrived Japan just so I could go like 1 week before my program ended.
WeiYinChan that ist not true. I booked it 3 week before and there where s lot of tickets left. I do not know if it was just the ‚right‘ season (Oktober), but I read everywhere it is impossible to get tickets this short time before. But I got two at 13:30, so even not that early or late.
WeiYinChan I had to do it on a website, because it is said the vending machines for this are rare and mostly on japanese and I am only aware of the basics
All of this that you did would be a dream come true! I usually watch traveling vids before I go to sleep, bc I find them calming, and this by far was one of the most coolest, chill, and pretty traveling vids I have seen! Edit: the post cards were so cool too!
Good to come across another Aussie! I went to the Ghibli Museum in 2018, a friend of mine who was living in Tokyo at the time managed to get me 4 tickets! and pretty easily too, not sure how she did it but i'll be forever grateful to her for it, as I had the best time with my family there! Got heaps of goodies too!
I've been to the Ghibli Museum 4 times! Tickets were never an issue to get as long as we scheduled the time when they came out for that month! The website is in English and easy to navigate. We always had a handful of dates and times to choose from - I would just suggest making sure you're going on at the time and day they're released (it was the evening for us in San Diego, CA). I go once a year and will be sad to miss it this year - love your video!
Your video is so good. I enjoyed your video. I've been to Ghibli Museum Mitaka too. I'm a beginner on youtube, so I can learn a lot from your video. Thank you.

@@hijessicaanne most people in america are poor. Don't believe what you see on TV. Most people simply don't have the money or desire to go to japan. Especially since the Japanese despise Americans. You know, ever since the whole America bombing their country thing.
i just found your videos!! i loved studio ghibli museum so much! i'm so glad i got the chance to go last year, the tickets were sooo hard to get i remember being on the website for 3 hours! so worth it though!! i loved the post cards, i didn't see those postcards when i was there, but i bought some of the artwork postcards from the movie!! i just made a video about it if you're interested! ☺️💕
I go to the Ghibli museum each time I’m in Japan. This will be my 6th time. I don’t find it hard to get tickets at all. The website is in English and easy to navigate. Each time we’ve been we have seen a different short film. It’s basically the only reason we keep going back (and because it’s super cheap too) I wouldn’t buy tickets from a travel site though. They triple the ticket price and it’s really not worth paying that much. (Tickets are ¥1000 and JTB charges $35 + booking fees)
That's great advice, thank you for sharing! It may vary by country, I could only see the ticketing options for JTB or Lawson. It was around ¥3000ish from JTB Australia for me.

Who said anime is 2D? This is anime irl
Is it pronounced gibbly or ghibly
I used to say it incorrectly, it's pronounced "jiburi' :)
