    Man, I may have some really good cook books I need to look at. I buy tons of cookbooks for crafting and making Junk journals. Since watching this I remembered I have a Pearl Bailey’s signed copy that my mom and I got at a musical (Hello Dolly) that she was starring in, that we went to back in the ‘70’s. I looked it up and it only sells for around $35.00 but I had no idea it would be worth anything. Thanks for the video. It really gave me something to think about. I am always picking up cookbooks a at garage sales and estate sales.

      I hadn’t thought of people using cookbooks in junk journaling but that makes complete sense! I am always whole heartedly amazed at what things are valuable. I just tend to give most things a look up if I plan on using them in any crafting. I hope you will share if you make more fun finds in your cookbooks like the one you mentioned!

    You're doing so great with your videos. Remember - EVERGREEN content is the best kind of content. Videos like these, when you are big and famous and have tens of thousands of subscribers will STILL MAKE MONEY once monetized! 50 hours into detailed research will be SO SO worth it then! :-) Keep on keeping on girl! I've been watching, but almost always while driving. So I don't get to comment.

      Thank you so much! I was happy to see your name pop up! I was thinking about you because I’m slowly getting ready to make some frame videos and I know you are a frame lover and I talked to my mother law about your story and how your mother did framing. I agree with you on this content being the stuff that will stand the test of time and luckily it is my absolute favorite to make, it almost feels like cheating because I learn so much from them as well so it’s almost like I’m already making money from them 😉 Thank you so much for your continued support!

      @@Childhoodfinds let me know if you want to do a collab research pull-your-hair-out, down down down the rabbit hole when you are ready! I’m wide open after we move. Hoping to be living in the new place before August. Oh… frame lover is the further thing from the truth… I must confess. But frame OWNER…. Uh yep… thanks mom. Almost 2 aisles in the barn dedicated to frames. 🥴

    • @Childhoodfinds
      @Childhoodfinds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes let’s absolutely do a collab! I’m actually moving around the early august time so it would be perfect time for a video in that month, so let’s look towards that. That gives me time to convince my mother in law to join, because she’s the expert (also knows artwork if that’s a part of your frames) and honestly it would be a breeze if we have her help! (I won’t tell her you’re not a frame lover) though I must admit I wasn’t a frame lover years ago when I started learning but listening to her has infected me with some of the love and two frames have joined my collection this year!

      @Childhoodfinds  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! I currently sell on EBay, Poshmark & Mercari. My sales for cookbooks primarily come from eBay but I still sell some on the other two platforms as well.

    How many pics should u take?

    • @Childhoodfinds
      @Childhoodfinds  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      For a high value book I typically do, front & back, all four edges, inside front cover, inside back cover, copyright and title page. If there’s any imperfections I will add on more but that’s the base for a good book for me!

    So if you see a great price on Terapeak but current sales are much lower, should you still go for the higher price? I would think that no one would buy it if they can get it much cheaper.

    • @Childhoodfinds
      @Childhoodfinds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally I would look at a few things, if it’s an item where there is only a handful of others listed for less than what terapeak shows, but it’s an item that sells regularly, then I would price it higher and wait out the others selling. If it was an item where the market really was flooded and there were dozens listed for the lower price with a low sell through then I would price more competitively with what’s listed. I really try when I can to not ‘chase the price to the bottom’ but, sometimes the price really does fluctuate down. I also factor in condition. I recently did this with a my outlander book - the current trending listed price was around 140-150, but terapeak shows up to around 250+ so I priced mine at the higher terapeak range (it was also in great condition) and I waited probably an extra month and a half for the sale but I made an extra 75 doing so. I’m sorry I didn’t mean for that to be so long winded!

    the cook books you show are not selling because they are cookbooks they are selling because of the celebrity value. i have about 2 actual real cookbooks from as far back as the 60s that are valuable as cookbooks, several of the hershey cookbooks.

    • @Childhoodfinds
      @Childhoodfinds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, that’s fair that celebrities or big names add value, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t “real cookbooks”. There’s also a massive amount of celebrity cookbooks that are worthless as well.
