  • Keir Starmer has launched six 'first steps' ahead of the upcoming general election.
    Plus: residents in Devon have been told their tap water is not safe to drink following the outbreak of a parasitic disease; and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has ruled out a two-state solution.

      Well enjoy being on the outer. If you won’t turn up for them and they still go on to win the election then it shows your voting bloc is very irrelevant and very unreliable. The Implication means that they will never bother to give you any platform in future and be easily dismissed labelled radical. Possibly the stupidest thing you can do for any movement. Voting is a tactical skill.

      That's because back then, we actually taxed the very rich their fair share. The highest tax band was 96%. Now that's only 96% above a certain amount but it's those kinds of tax brackets that allowed us to fund public services. There was also far more tax brackets that increased incrementally the higher a person's earnings. It was progressive.
      Tax is a dirty word now and no party is brave enough to advocate for higher taxes for the rich because they know the rich owners of the media will come after them.

I went without water for an extra 3 days more than anyone else because Southern Water couldn’t even get a plumber to me. Water should be drinkable, seas, lakes and rivers should not have sh¡t dumped into them AND it should be free to all households.

    Putting a cap on child benefit alsi leads to many families putting a cap on the number of children they have ... leading to falling birth rates and as seen in many countries in Europe this is a cause of concern as this is a fall in the number of future work force, future tax payers, less people contributing to the public purse leading to less public services, pensions and so on.... so getting rid of the gap should be a priority!

We dont know when GE will be - waiting lists, for example, could have significantly worsened in matter of months so how can Labour say how quivkly they'll reduce if they have no idea when they might be in position to do so and how high they'll be at that stage? Also New Labour pledges weren't ambitious - they achievable within 5 year term.
    If you would'nt believe anything Starmer says what is the point of analysing it?

    Don’t you get it? He’s not changing the missions, these are a downpayment on the first steps of the missions. The goals stay the same, but you have to set out how you’re going to approach the first steps towards the goals toward the missions and as they grow closer you have to show the first steps your going to take to the missions or else the missions might run away or fall through, this is *just* a little downpayment so he can guarantee the first steps toward the second steps toward the missions, which by the way aren’t going to completely crumble on first contact with pressure, none of you can understand, the steps stay the same, the payment on the mission towards the goals towards the steps toward the missions will *always* stay the same, forever, and ever, fully costed, concrete pledges, i’m sorry steps, until at least next week

    BNs vision is that of maintaining status quo & Israel security and dominance through suppression. It is not a valid way to produce a dignified peace for all, especially considering the validity of the Palestinian cause.

    40:14 I’m not sure how it is in UK, but here in the States, the fluoride in the water can not be boiled away. It requires fancy multi stage reverse osmosis filtration system to get it out.

      @@iteerrex8166 we have researched the topic. Fluoride is perfectly safe at the concentration it is found in the water. Concentration is everything. You can probably find a tiny bit of cyanide in the water too, from decomposing apple seeds. It's dangerous but not at the dosage you'd find it there.
      Also, of course you can't boil away a salt. That's basic GCSE chemistry. I don't wanna be a dick, but your comment heavily implies that you didn't know that. So what makes you think you're qualified to assess the safety of fluoride when you can't even understand the basic chemistry of the stuff?

    • @IshtarNike
      @IshtarNike 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      And just FYI. You don't need to do reverse osmosis. You can also purify water using distillation. Much cheaper equipment if you still want to waste good money avoiding fluoride.
