My first cruise was last may, and I went on the carnival sunshine. I think if you’re gonna go on a cruise start with the carnival sunshine. It has a lot to do and has really good food, it’s enjoyable and the perfect size for a beginner cruiser!
We were on that ship when it was still named the Triumph, after the famous "poop cruise" where it lost power and had to be towed to port. Of the seven cruises we have been on, we still like that one the best. We aren't a big fan of these ships getting larger and larger.. The only thing they seem to grow is the number of people while the common areas remain about the same.. That makes the crowds pretty unmanageable sometimes.
🤣"I'm crying it's so good!" Too funny! I've been wanting to get on the Horizon since it came out - everyone seems to LOVE it. Your back-to-back vlogs made me want to even more!! It's a little pricier, but I'm always watching my casino offers to see which sailings they bring up for it. Loved hearing your take on all these ships.
Great content as always... I know you guys are all the way over in Michigan. One of these trips you need to fly out to Long Beach, California, and get on the Carnival Panorama. Panorama is definitely my favorite ship. Mardi Gras was nice, but Panorama was the perfect size with all the modern amenities. We will be on the Panorama for the third time in February. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the video. I appreciate the time and effort. Heads up though, if you didnt like the Mardis Gras due to its size, theres probably no need to sail the Celebration.
Thanks! Since making this video we have sailed on the celebration. We liked the celebration better than the Mardi Gras. I don’t think we are mega ship people so it’s not a ship size we would go out of our way to sail on but we did enjoy all the food options!
My wife and I sat with you “I’m pretty sure” at the Bonsai Tapiyaki on the Carnival Celebration on the August cruise sailing last year. I recognized you “NOW” with accidentally coming across one of your videos in the last two wks, I then said to my wife, we SAT WITH THEM, OMG!!! I remember admiring your Platinum card you were wearing on your lanyard.
I'm happily surprised The Legend ranked #5!! I love it but agree it needs another restaurant. Maybe in April when she goes into dry dock it'll get more 🤞
I am so happy to see this! Magic has been my favorite ship so far. I'm booked for Horizon next year so I feel like I will love it too!! We seem to be on the same page with pros/cons!
I'm so glad you guys did an update on ship ranking. I'm going to try doing our first carnival cruise in 2025 or late 24. Also, debating between the spa room or Havana. Will you be doing a comparison on those rooms/perks?
Hi, if you have been on the miracle, how does this compare to the legend ship as they seem the same size and have pretty much the same food options etc when looking on the site. And ive seen the miracle is a rocky ship and wondered if the legend is too? Thanks
Nice ranking, if you like the Magic, you like the Dream and Breeze too! MG and Celebration are just great ships because so many options, yes it is large. Trying Vista clas in 72 days, so maybe that class will be our favorite.
My 1st cruise was on Carnival Triumph, and my family & I loved it so much we went on it again the next year. We are did back to back on Valor and loved it too
I have not sailed a lot but I really loved Carnival Spirit, small easy to get around nice decor I’m sure Lindsay would agree. Symphony of the seas was amazing but one week is not enough on it and you definitely get your steps in. I like em smaller. But any ship is better than work 😌
Totally agree with this ranking. I've been on the original Celebration at 47k and the Mardi Gras at 180k. The mid size ships, between 80 and 130k are absolutely perfect if 85 to 90% of the amenities are on board. Though we totally enjoyed Mardi Gras because of all the options, we traveled with a family member with mobility issues. All that walking made it difficult. We took that same family member on the Sunshine and had no issues. The revamped Sunshine was a welcomed surprise, as we had gone on Destiny many years before that.
Knew Horizon ranked number 1 for you both from watching your videos. That'd be my first choice if I ever try to sail out of another port, other than Baltimore.
I'm planning a cruise right now between the horizon and the valor, the valor is much cheaper, but the horizon seems to have a lot of features. It's only 5-6 night cruises and I don't cruise a whole lot so the specialty dining isn't a huge deal for me, but do you think it's worth it to pay $400-500 more? I've never been on either ship.
Well I had a horrible first ever Carnival experience. 5pm dinner at a table with drunk people. My mom was an elderly first time cruiser, not me been on 3 others. Their food was sub par as well. Their steak looked and tasted like it was broiled. Eww! And we had to walk through the casino where everyone was smoking. Yuck! I said we will never cruise on them again. But I am planning a trip for 2, my friend and I hoping to go June 2025. She has never gone on a cruise before either. So I want her to have a great experience. Mostly leaning towards RCL Oasis. But checking out Carnival once again cuz of price.
You didn't mention the only 2 Carnival Ships that we have been on. We have been on the Carnival Liberty, and the Vista. We really liked the Vista. Not the Liberty too much though. Both our of Port Canavral, different years.
I have been on the Freedom, Magic, Glory three times, the Triumph (now the Sunshine), and Vista.. The Vista is about the same size as the Magic, but was much better developed for the larger number of people.. I have no favorite ship, they all are fine, but we did like the IMAX theater on the Vista, for only $6 you can go watch a movie and relax.. They may have made some changes to the Magic, but it was unable to handle the larger crowds well in my opinion.
If you did not like the Mardi Gras ship, then you will not like the celebration ship. Their sister ships but also they are huge ships. I agree with the horizon. That is a great ship.
Your rankings make no sense. You said some ships did have enough restaurant options but the Mardi Gras has them all but you rank it lower because it’s too big. In order to get the speciality restaurants you need a bigger ship.
Mardi Gras was not at the top of my list either, but I loved Celebration. Food was much better in my opinion on Celebration. The rooms were slightly larger as well.
Thanks. You.l am going in May in carnibal magic...l cruise carnival celebration..really to huge for me mostly stayed rooms no alot fun things to do.l enjoy smaller shit l guess
That is why I like the big ships though. So much things to see and do. But I can see how it being big would be exhausting trying to go from one restaurant to another. And I am a people watcher too. How was the food? My experience with them was not so good. Steak tasted as though it was broiled. I guess they figured drunk people will not be able to taste their sub par food.

Awesome video about the rankings of all the ships ya'll have been on! Great content as always! Keep up the amazing work Michelle and Josh :)
Thanks for the video. I appreciate the time and effort. Heads up though, if you didnt like the Mardis Gras due to its size, theres probably no need to sail the Celebration.

Love this! I’m sailing the Horizon in February!
I'm glad you liked the Carnival Magic. I have a cruise scheduled for the Carnival Dream later this year and it's my first Carnival cruise.
We get on the Horizon tomorrow in a Spa Interior! Can't wait to try it. Loved all you videos and have watched them several times!!
My wife and I sat with you “I’m pretty sure” at the Bonsai Tapiyaki on the Carnival Celebration on the August cruise sailing last year. The bad part of Valor (i went this year js got off) is we didnt go to Cozumel because Hurricane Milton
Btw you should try Carnival Liberty!
I'm so glad you guys did an update on ship ranking. I'm going to try doing our first carnival cruise in 2025 or late 24. Also, debating between the spa room or Havana. Will you be doing a comparison on those rooms/perks?
That’s a great video idea! We just might do that.
Loved the Celebration lots to do and places to eat.

You guys are great. What Carnival ship has the largest adult swimming pool.
We loved the Spirit last month. Have you done the spirit class ones? I want to go on the horizon next I think.
Love Sunshine ❤❤ cruised on her 8 times since February 2023 with 21 more booked
Nice ranking, if you like the Magic, you like the Dream and Breeze too! MG and Celebration are just great ships because so many options, yes it is large. Trying Vista clas in 72 days, so maybe that class will be our favorite.
Overall ships I've sailed on:
1. Serenade of the Seas
2. independence of the Seas
3. Carnival Liberty
4. Carnival Paradise
5. Carnival Sunshine
My 1st cruise was on Carnival Triumph, and my family & I loved it so much we went on it again the next year. We are did back to back on Valor and loved it too
We ❤ the Sunshine. Been on the Freedom and Magic as well! We are heading on the Freedom again next month and then on the Venezia in August.
I have not sailed a lot but I really loved Carnival Spirit, small easy to get around nice decor I’m sure Lindsay would agree. Symphony of the seas was amazing but one week is not enough on it and you definitely get your steps in. I like em smaller. But any ship is better than work 😌
Thanks yall, Happy sailing
Great info. The Magic is our favorite. Glad to hear it is your #2. Also, the Horizon ranks high on our list also.
You guys should try carnival pride I loved that ship
We are booked on the pride this October! Excited to try it!
Totally agree with this ranking. I've been on the original Celebration at 47k and the Mardi Gras at 180k. What about the vista? Where does that rank?
Well… we haven’t been on that one yet so we didn’t put it in our rank. It is the sister ship to the Horizon, which is our favorite. Hope that helps!
Knew Horizon ranked number 1 for you both from watching your videos. That'd be my first choice if I ever try to sail out of another port, other than Baltimore.

you have to try the Carnival Venezia she is such a beautiful ship!!
Have done the Magic and loved it. Have Horizon booked April 2024. Can’t wait!!!
My first boat horizon
My most recent Mardi Gras
Great video

Hi just a heads up, Carnival is known as the party cruises so if taking your elderly mother i would look to other cruises.
@@wanderlustmmm6404 yeah unfortunately it was the only one we could afford. yeah. We were not happy. sat for dinner with 5 drunk people at 5pm.
I love this episode!
Loved the Sunshine but yes rockiest ship I have ever been on too!
So y'all never been on conquest or Liberty?
We have not
You didn't mention the only 2 Carnival Ships that we have been on. We have been on the Carnival Liberty, and the Vista. We really liked the Vista. Not the Liberty too much though. Both our of Port Canavral, different years.

The magic was my 1st ❤
What's the best cruise ship in the caribbean?
If you did not like the Mardi Gras ship, then you will not like the celebration ship. Their sister ships but also they are huge ships. I agree with the horizon. That is a great ship.
We did like the Celebration better than the Mardi Gras. Horizon is the great!

That’s just the ships we like 🤷🏻♀️
I approve this message.
Mardi Gras was not at the top of my list either, but I loved Celebration. Food was much better in my opinion on Celebration. The rooms were slightly larger as well.
I was thinking that lol
Thanks. You.l am going in May in carnibal magic...l cruise carnival celebration..really to huge for me mostly stayed rooms no alot fun things to do.l enjoy smaller shit l guess
What about Carnival Conquest?
Haven’t been on the conquest yet!
And then again y’all didn’t even try to get on the Jubilee out of Galveston
That is why I like the big ships though. So much things to see and do. But I can see how it being big would be exhausting trying to go from one restaurant to another. And I am a people watcher too. I’m on the carnival sunshine why did you say that
I think the carnival freedom smells moldy everywhere
