I had the MIM Tele Deluxe stolen from me. It was incredible. Fender humbuckers are so musical. Mine was black. The only guitar I've ever seen that looks gorgeous in that finish. The 70's head-stock is everything currently missing from todays Fender builds.

@@terrywitzu7874 Hard to say... there's lots of variables from one person's rig to another - guitar make, amp, room - even the leads can affect the tone. There may be something of a mid-range scoop on the p-90s you are using, that can sometimes contribute to a 'distant' sound

They had a nice chime that sounded, or felt like was coming from somewhere else - best way to describe it. Are dog-eared the cheapest, or something? I do recall trying out a Jazzmaster that had great feel. Should buyer's be wary of dog-ear P-90's as the exception to what's widely considered the greatest pick-up design ever? I certainly am.

If you have played a certain type of pickup and hated it, then trust your instincts! Even though I am doing a review video here, I still personally treat all reviews with a pinch of salt and trust my own preferences and instincts when it comes to spending serious money on a guitar. If that's what your gut feeling is, then go with it dude. Life's too short, and guitar playing is about enjoyment, so do what you enjoy re guitar makes & styles 👍👍👍
Props for doing some high gain metal chugging on this type of guitar. Different take than other demos. Im considering getting one of these over the American Pro version. I'm not too crazy about the specs on the American. They have fatter "deep c" necks and top load 3 saddle bridges, which is unfortunate for me.
Yeah... I have an american pro strat, but went for this because it seemed to have all the good bits of the strat with all the good bits of a humbucker tele. I love this guitar and play it pretty much every day
I have an AmPro II Tele Deluxe, which is technically the higher end guitar, but I still want one of these. It's cool how it has all the 70s stuff on it, like the 3 bolt plate on the back, the bullet truss rod thing, and of course the wide range humbuckers, which the AmPros don't have (they have Shawbuckers). I'd actually prefer one of these over a vintage one, since 70s Fenders are so hit and miss. Also, I love the color of that one.

I love that distorted sound, in fact, it sounds great all round. I've bought one. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I agree about the current trend for the roadworn thing. What's that about? I'm not a massive fan of poly - finished necks but it's not a big deal and other than that this, it's really amazing. I was looking for a guitar to compliment my single coil guitars and I bought a Les Paul studio the other week but after trying for a while I found the usual issue with Gibson and me - I just don't seem to get on very easily with Gibson neck profiles. I loved the sound of the LP, and I told myself I'd get used to it, but every time I played my Tele or Strat it reminded me of how things could feel so the LP went back. Your video really helped me decide on this guitar which in my opinion, gives away nothing in tone to the Gibson. I got the Vintage Blond and it looks really nice. I'm pretty sure mine came with 9s on it. It felt pretty good right off the bat, and although I take all my guitars to my local luthier for an initial professional set up, this will have to wait until after lockdown conditions ease. There's so much stuff talked about guitars and how they compare and so much of it is nonsense. I never thought this would sound as good. It has amazed me.
Just watching your video as I love those Telecaster Deluxe's. Just wanted to say, I have the same Smartwood Les Paul, which was an engagement present back in 2000 from what is now PMT in Newcastle (Had a different name back then, many Sounds Live, Sound Control was around the corner). Great the Smartwoods but lack the sustain, so I do have a fully fledged LP, albeit a Radiotone honeyburst LP, which sounds killer. My Tele is 60 squire Classic Vibe Thinline.
I have been lusting for a Telecaster Deluxe ever since I saw one but never got to try one and I didn't want to order one online because I thought it wouldn't suit my style of music (Punk and "Modern" Metal)... I was really impressed with the distortion tones in this video and it made me lust even more for one. Luckily for me I currently have the budget to buy one and as faith would have it there currently is a limited edition in my favorite color from Fender "Lake Placid Blue", so naturally I pulled the trigger! Should arrive on Tuesday and I couldn't be more excited! Random question: Have you done any mods to yours since this video (i.e. swap the pots)? I have read that a lot of folks swap out the stock 250k pots for 500k pots, to brighten the sound and make it less muddy.
Hi Andreas These guitars are amazing - the distortion is the heaviest of any guitar I've ever used, including an Ibanez designed specifically for metal! They have a hell of a range. I haven't modded the tele, no - it's pretty much perfect haha. I use it through my blackstar deluxe silverline stack and it sounds absolutely epic. Enjoy your new axe!

Never thought a "standard" Tele would sound this good for high gain Metal, it can easily hold its ground against my other, clearly metal oriented, guitars (Gibson Explorer, PRS SE Mark Holcomb, Ormsby Hype GTR 6, Edwards Les Paul Custom). I expected it to have poor upper fret access, due to the rather bulky Bolt on, but it really is easy to get up there, way better than any Les Paul, kinda miss the 22nd fret though. The straight headstock feels kind of weird to me at the moment, because I have only ever had guitars with angled headstocks.

Much cheaper than the other Vinteras from other retailers and much cheaper than the relic versions and American professional Strats. Selling two telecasters with humbuckers to fund it but I think it'll be definitely worth after watching this review and your enthusiasm as well.
I love a good fat slip and slide glossy fingerboard. I don’t like those old vintage saddles. You can get a totally different sound by playing softer. AOR rock solos etc.
Nice guitar, thanks for the demo. Do you know if those pickups can be swapped with an humbucker, or one needs to replace the pickguard? I am assuming the cavity is large enough for a HB.
You keep saying that the Road Worn Series is 300 pounds more for someone to scratch it up. That's not correct. There are other differences like the pickups being voiced differently and different colors, but the biggest difference and the one that accounts for the biggest part of the price difference is that the Road Worn all have nitro finishes, that makes a big difference to some people myself included. I could care less about it being worn, I probably would actually prefer it without the wear but the nitro is very important to me. I can't stand the feel of poly finishes.
Cool, glad to hear they are getting their act together :) I still think Fender have the edge on them in pricing however. £1.2k will get you an absolutely pristine US made strat, but you're looking closer to £2k for a Gibson. Thanks for the video but here's a bit of constructive criticism. Turn up your amp. When you were chugging, I could hear the sound of the strings just as loud as the amp. You should never have any unplugged sounds audible. Destroys the entire purpose of plugging in.

Wide range humbuckers are slightly larger than regular humbuckers
Have this same guitar.....nice however I feel like the humbuckers are very twangy and noisy and the neck frets out at the bottom.

Yeah it did, but it was very very heavy and uncomfortable to play live, and the sound wasn't a patch on the Fender (to my ears at least)

Gibson lp ridiculously pricey nowaday!? Lucky there's a lot alternative choice brand some are better even superior sound n look than Gib Lp..
