@supercamacho774 idk about you but in on pad I'm on ps5 and I find the while standing 1,2 after back 2 into mist step to be like impossible I just either get the normal 1,2 or a crouch 1 any ideas or ways to make this easier?
Love your stuff! Finally picked up T8 seriously and I've always wanted to pick up Lee. He's so damn cool! 2 questions though! -How does one figure out the correct time for Lee's just frames? (Aside from watching videos, I actually have no idea how to determine the timing of certain just frame moves on my own. Is it really just trial and error?) -Is mist step really just a stance change for additional moves+ back sway? Does it have any other properties or am I looking into it too deeply? Edit: I just recalled near the end of the video where you mentioned mist step can go into WS moves.

Great video!! Im pretty sure you didn’t mention it in the video but I had a question about his forward 4,1 and forward 4,3. Are these bad to use in neutral? I’ve been using them a lot since f 4,1 is +5 with perfect input and if I make a read I can do f 4,3 and hit them with the mid. Is this a bad mixup tool to rely on?
Not at all! The whole point is that the mid version is a ch launcher to catch them disrespecting f41 with a button or ducking, a call and response sort of deal "are you gonna let me hit you with big plus frames or are you going to risk getting ch launched or put in a different mixup" very strong! Only reason i didnt really mention it much is because thats a bit more in depth, but you're definitely correct for using it like that!
Thank you for the guide! Learning Lee and your guides are super helpful. It's not covered in the vid, but how would you use [3 3] JF 4, the high just frame hitgrab? I'm wondering if it's only good if they're scared to press a button and hold stand block, but appreciate any advice!
Yep exactly as you said, if theyre scared. I really like using it on oki though if they are just mashing tech roll and getting up every time ill hit them with mist trap

@@coradonquixote unfortunately those are both true just frames and just require practice, what helped me get the timing was watching and listening to the example in the move list. Listening to the rhythm helped me alot!
I know that most probably say ten hit combos are not so good (but I like it) I’ve almost mastered Lee’s ten hit combo but the final backflip never comes out , the kick JUST before that backflip comes out fine though. I’m a tekken beginner, could anyone explain why the backflip doesn’t happen but everything else does ?
It's a difficult one. You need to micro dash into B3, 3 to pick up. Dashing into a move that requires a back input takes a bit of practice, what controller do you use?

You'd think that after so many attempts I would have done it at least once on accident, but no dice. Sometimes the b33 misses. Sometimes it's too late and picks the opponent up off the ground, restarting the combo (and if I set the dummy to ukemi, it misses). When I nail the timing, b33 does combo, but f41 misses immediately after.
d+3 doesn't really instantly high crush, think it high crush around 6f so if you do it at -6, the opponent jab would still clip Also should mention that making d3 alone -1 oH made the move really strong cause you can ws33/ws4 their mid check AND steps or ff4 their jab retaliation It's really dumb and way stronger than the HMS mixup (also you don't need to do u,b33 for the pickup just doing bb33 is sufficient and really easy at it)
When you go into mist step by pressing forward, you can go into a backsway stance by pressing back. During the first couple frames of the backsway you can input a move and it comes out as while standing, takes practice but when you get it, its not too hard! Hope this helps :)
good guide my dude, I have a question though. I've been struggling with Lee's tornado it's sometimes connects after b2f ws 1 2 b2f and sometimes not. It's the same combo have no clue why exactly this even happens. Have you had that issue?
Yes i have, and unfortunately nothing ive labbed has given any insight as to why it drops. Hope they fix it later but for now we just have to deal with it
Super useful video man, I hope I can unstuck myself from red ranks after learning these tricks. In the 95 damage ws punish combo, is there a way to hit the dash d2 after the bb4 more consistently? That's the hardest part of the combo for me😢
Just a quick one why is it on tekken 7 I could continuously do back 4 into hitman but now it goes into back back 4 homing instead any tips on best ways to cancel hitman
@@Reincandel i let go of all inputs, when his head reaches lowest point i input b2f like one fast input and take my hands off my mixbox again. No extra inputs helped me get good at it
Update, I can do it inconsistently now, but I'm not sure how to follow it up. I can't tell if I'm not getting it "well enough" to get the full combo pickup with it if that's a thing after the f41. This is the first tekken game i’m practicing, i know this character is notoriously difficult but aside from just frames is that the only barrier? He seems like my playstyle to a T but i’m worried i’m gonna plateau if theres a barrier I cant cross
I would say the big thing isn't the just frames, it's timing and forcing situations where you get to play defensive. You also need decent reactions to actually confirm that your move counterhit, so that you can follow up on it. Like he mentioned in the video you benefit greatly from conditioning opponents and then mixing them up, and that will require some extra thought. All characters do this, but Lee gains a lot from it. But Lee is a cool character. He will be harder than others initially, but the reward is great. Also in lower ranks people wont know your frame traps so you'll be able to abuse that against people who spam moves all day.
He struggles when your opponent figures out they shut down lees gameplan by blocking, the more defensive they are and the more they resist conditioning the harder it will be to get your reward from lees strengths
There is a backsway you can do by pressing back during your mist step, during the first couple frames of the backsway if you input a move it comes out as while rising
This is just my opinion but i feel like silver heel is a lot harder to use compared to T7 because silver heel lost it's tracking properties. I encountered a very good player who dashed forward and just side stepped silver heel which caught me off guard but a still a good move nontheless
All these look good on paper. But if your footsies, reaction & fundamentals suck then all these mean nothing. T8 is a heaven for mashers. Press to quickly then you can be whiffed punished. Press to late than you will always be clipped. But if you possess any of those 3 qualities that I mentioned than all these moves in this video will work for you.
These are the tools i gave in conjunction with the basics guide i made, i purposely gave tools and theory for lee that beginners can work with mostly regarding evasion and spacing traps so they can learn about spacing without actually consciously learning about spacing. Lee def builds on your fundies but i disagree that you have to have good fundies to do well with lee in the beginning
Lee has a backsway by pressing back from mist step, if you press a button in the first couple frames youll get a ws move, plink your back and 2 inputs youll get it
I had the same issues, ive found that if i input forward before i input b4 i never get bb4 on accident! May not be super efficient to add an extra input but until i find something better this is what has worked best for me
Any tips on reacting after b4,3? I find it difficult to press HMN 2 if they jabbed (i always press it too late). Also i dont wanna press 2 straight away in case b4 is a counter hit

Probably a timing issue, I would recommend watching the button timings in the move list example!

Yes actually i ran into the same issue, ive found that inputting b4 as FB4 (forward, back,4) saves you from the bb4 mis input.

You forgot the mist trap low,thats +12 on counter hit that gives you a free1,3,3,3..

Db3 isnt that good anymore, minus on hit now instead of plus, and db3+4 is almost the same speed now so No real point in using db3 really

Any tips on reacting after b4,3? I find it difficult to press HMN 2 if they jabbed (i always press it too late). Also i dont wanna press 2 straight away in case b4 is a counter hit
