I have purchased one completed toddler by artist Kory Fann and an unpainted silicone I was going to have Kory do. But we sold our house and they were my indulgence from the sale. Otherwise I paint. I get their clothes mostly on line. I get my ideas on fashion from you, Tina, Ines and Misty (kitstokradles) mostly. I want to start designing and seeing the clothes for them. I love vintage baby. This baby! Pickle didn’t really speak to me but this one, this one is positively yelling. I love her! Oh those sorts of jealous comments. Jealousy is a problem and it’s not one I’m willing to carry for another person. If someone asks about collecting in a genuine way then I will try to explain that there’s a price spectrum with reborns depending on the detail and artist etc, but no legitimate baby is cheap. We are having polar vortex part 3 moving in a couple days from now. brr.🥶 I tell you how we afford these dolls, it's called sacrificing after high school to get a meaningful degree. Or working 2 jobs. Or marrying well, lol. You choose. Also, I don't spend my money on going out much or on a lot of personal expenses. So many young girls go for cool instead of ambitions when dating. I have no problem saying how much my dolls cost. I always wanted to know when I would see a new sculpt. My vinyl Gracie Mae by Laura Lee Eagles cost $450. I got lucky on her because she can go for 1k and up. My silicone June by Lilianne Breedveld cost $4200. And my silicone baby Bear by Izzy Zhao cost $3000. Which I feel was a good deal because Bear is sold out and can go for way more. Stay warm and cozy up there!

I will say I started in this community in 2010 and I started reborning in 2009 but I left the community little over 5 years ago because I got scammed out of $700 and still haven’t received my doll from that artist that I was referred too which is a story of it self and I just had enough of drama and back then it was getting to were artist were trying to sell the highest price doll and buyers were trying to get the highest price dolls to show they can afford it and for views and today it’s even worse with prices especially with silicone new artist that sculpt silicone and new painters are selling them $3000 and up and they either don’t look realistic or the paint starts having issues and once that starts on silicone or reborns you will keep having issues and than your stuck with a doll that you paid hundreds to thousands for. I think people have forgotten about the true art of these dolls and it became about money. As an artist I could still sell a doll for $500 plus shipping and send it home with one extra outfit, paci, blanket and lovey and still make a little bit of money and know that someone is going to love and enjoy the doll. But today it’s about the best clothes to put in the box, the best box openings and popularity of the artist and been like that for the past 6+years and prices just keep going up and up. Yes I know kits go up in price and so do baby products but to be honest I rather pay a lower price and just get the doll because most people shop what they like anyways and then they never use the artist stuff they send unless it’s their style. But don’t get me wrong I’m not jealous over buyers and I do get excited when they get a new doll. But there is only so much realistic artist can make these dolls look and we hit that years ago with the painting and the sculpts so now it’s time to get back to the art of the dolls and not the money of the dolls. There wouldn’t be an issue with replicas if dolls were affordable because artist could sell basic made dolls little better then china and sell them cheap and then only kids and people that don’t know about real reborns would be buying replicas. But replicas will never stop if artist don’t stop selling dolls for outrageous prices today. It’s like once they got a taste of the money it just went higher and higher. I remember when Romie doll went for 15 thousand and that’s when I knew buyers were just buying for “clout” and not the art because that bid should of never gotten that high and that was years ago. I just started watching videos again around Christmas and today it’s more divided over replicas and artist than ever. But artist need to ask themselves why are people picking replicas over their dolls and it all comes down to price. Also soon China going to run out kits to steal once all sculptors protect their work and then China will either have to start sculpting their own or keep selling the same old kits and people will be tired of them that been collectors for awhile. But all this would have never went this far if prices didn’t go up so high. I know many rather have a nice painted artist doll over replicas but artist and sculptors have to go back to the art and not about the money.
Exactly this 👏🏼👌🏼! People don’t know what goes into other people’s process of saving the money. I totally agree. And yes, these are art pieces no matter what people use them for. In the end of the day it still took a lot of work to sculpt them, paint them, root them, all that shebang. Thank you so much for your input 😘❤️🙏🏻.
My Chunky Monky is sitting on my lap as we speak 😍 I am so bonded with this little one only a fellow collector will know the feeling. I love your European style of fashion, I am inspired by your clothes and try to dress my babies accordingly. I live in South Africa and find some of the baby stuff a little garish for my liking. My Emma and my other 4 babies fill up the emptyness in my heart from losing my husband of 48 years and my two children and their families who now live in Australia. I am a pensioner and just decided to 'go for it .and get what makes me happy. I will make up for the money spent over the coming year by cutting down on other things that are not necessary.I am wondering how long I can keep up with this plan before another little cutie catches my eye 😂

I get so frustrated buying clothes for my pickles! I can't take my dolls apart so I'm pretty well stuck! I can't really buy an outfit cause the bottom was bigger than the top which was smaller
Taking a doll apart is very simple all it is is zip ties and you can buy them online in hardware stores. If your wanting to take stuffing out you just pull some out to were you like it or if you want more you can buy poly fill at Walmart in the craft sections. There is many videos showing you how to put a body together but it is very easy once you do one you can do all your dolls. Hope that helps.

I have not tried to put her into my Doona yet but I kind of worry she will bust out of there LOL 🙈🤣. Do you use a regular car seat for yours? How does the baby fit in there? I adore this chubby sculpt so much. Never had a baby of this size before and it’s more fun than I expected.

Jealousy is a problem and it’s not one I’m willing to carry for another person. If someone asks about collecting in a genuine way then I will try to explain that there’s a price spectrum with reborns depending on the detail and artist etc, but no legitimate baby is cheap. Do not get me started on jealousy in this community. As I told another lady here, I would have no problem disclosing the prices of my dolls, but at this point I want to have peace and do not particularly wish to be called a snob or whatever people call others with pricier dolls 🙈😭. On the other hand I just may do it because I have been called all names under the sun and I’m kind of used to it 😂.

We are having polar vortex part 3 moving in a couple days from now. brr.🥶 I tell you how we afford these dolls, it's called sacrificing after high school to get a meaningful degree. Or working 2 jobs. Or marrying well, lol. You choose. Also, I don't spend my money on going out much or on a lot of personal expenses. So many young girls go for cool instead of ambitions when dating. I have no problem saying how much my dolls cost. I always wanted to know when I would see a new sculpt. My vinyl Gracie Mae by Laura Lee Eagles cost $450. I got lucky on her because she can go for 1k and up. My silicone June by Lilianne Breedveld cost $4200. And my silicone baby Bear by Izzy Zhao cost $3000. Which I feel was a good deal because Bear is sold out and can go for way more. Stay warm and cozy up there!

I agree with you FULLY. Everyone has a different socio-economical situation, job, spending habits, family situation. You are so right.
On one hand I do not mind discussions on the other hand I don’t like the tone of some out there. People calling others snobs only because can afford more expensive dolls…you hear it nonstop on all platforms. I don’t like that because those labeling mothers have no idea about how others manage their lives and their finances.

But she popped up on postal radar this afternoon. Don't let others shame you. If you had baby's, you would have spent a whole lot more than what you paid for a doll or two. One of my daughters, it wasn't in the cards for her to have children. Same with one of my sisters. What they choose to spend their hard earn money on is their choice. I don't mean to sound so harsh to others. I have talked this way to my girls. Some listen at first and some didn't. But you know what they all ended up in college or trade school one way or another. Tops for her better as well. I wish some collectors weren’t afraid to adjust the filling and glass beads in their dolls. It makes a world of difference for me to be able to customize my dolls to my preferences.

I will say I started in this community in 2010 and I started reborning in 2009 but I left the community little over 5 years ago because I got scammed out of $700 and still haven’t received my doll from that artist that I was referred too which is a story of it self and I just had enough of drama and back then it was getting to were artist were trying to sell the highest price doll and buyers were trying to get the highest price dolls to show they can afford it and for views and today it’s even worse with prices especially with silicone new artist that sculpt silicone and new painters are selling them $3000 and up and they either don’t look realistic or the paint starts having issues and once that starts on silicone or reborns you will keep having issues and than your stuck with a doll that you paid hundreds to thousands for. I think people have forgotten about the true art of these dolls and it became about money. As an artist I could still sell a doll for $500 plus shipping and send it home with one extra outfit, paci, blanket and lovey and still make a little bit of money and know that someone is going to love and enjoy the doll. But today it’s about the best clothes to put in the box, the best box openings and popularity of the artist and been like that for the past 6+years and prices just keep going up and up. Yes I know kits go up in price and so do baby products but to be honest I rather pay a lower price and just get the doll because most people shop what they like anyways and then they never use the artist stuff they send unless it’s their style. But don’t get me wrong I’m not jealous over buyers and I do get excited when they get a new doll. But there is only so much realistic artist can make these dolls look and we hit that years ago with the painting and the sculpts so now it’s time to get back to the art of the dolls and not the money of the dolls. There wouldn’t be an issue with replicas if dolls were affordable because artist could sell basic made dolls little better then china and sell them cheap and then only kids and people that don’t know about real reborns would be buying replicas. But replicas will never stop if artist don’t stop selling dolls for outrageous prices today. It’s like once they got a taste of the money it just went higher and higher. I remember when Romie doll went for 15 thousand and that’s when I knew buyers were just buying for “clout” and not the art because that bid should of never gotten that high and that was years ago. I just started watching videos again around Christmas and today it’s more divided over replicas and artist than ever. But artist need to ask themselves why are people picking replicas over their dolls and it all comes down to price. Also soon China going to run out kits to steal once all sculptors protect their work and then China will either have to start sculpting their own or keep selling the same old kits and people will be tired of them that been collectors for awhile. But all this would have never went this far if prices didn’t go up so high. I know many rather have a nice painted artist doll over replicas but artist and sculptors have to go back to the art and not about the money.
I am a reborn artist, that's how I afford my dolls. It is a lot to reborn a doll they don't realize. Sometimes months.
Exactly this 👏🏼👌🏼! People don’t know what goes into other people’s process of saving the money. I totally agree. And yes, these are art pieces no matter what people use them for. In the end of the day it still took a lot of work to sculpt them, paint them, root them, all that shebang.

My Chunky Monky is sitting on my lap as we speak 😍 I am so bonded with this little one only a fellow collector will know the feeling. I love your European style of fashion, I am inspired by your clothes and try to dress my babies accordingly. I live in South Africa and find some of the baby stuff a little garish for my liking. My Emma and my other 4 babies fill up the emptyness in my heart from losing my husband of 48 years and my two children and their families who now live in Australia. I am a pensioner and just decided to 'go for it .and get what makes me happy. I will make up for the money spent over the coming year by cutting down on other things that are not necessary.I am wondering how long I can keep up with this plan before another little cutie catches my eye 😂

@@pamobryan5455 Oohh, I don’t know how many pounds I made her weight but I can weight her for you, Pammy. I took a lot of filling out of her body. I felt she was too stuffed in her chest area. Sweaters and tops now for her so nicely. No bulky rugby top like before 😂🙈
I get so frustrated buying clothes for my pickles! I can't take my dolls apart so I'm pretty well stuck! I can't really buy an outfit cause the bottom was bigger than the top which was smaller
Taking a doll apart is very simple all it is is zip ties and you can buy them online in hardware stores. If your wanting to take stuffing out you just pull some out to were you like it or if you want more you can buy poly fill at Walmart in the craft sections. There is many videos showing you how to put a body together but it is very easy once you do one you can do all your dolls. Hope that helps.
