I use glass beads and sometimes if I really want them heavier without using as much glass beads I use BBs. Especially in my tinier dolls I use them and cover them with really soft stuffing. I love making my dolls feel way more realistic by stuffing the dolls faces much much more and adding glass beads and soft polyfil :)
I was told because China don’t bleach their stuffing but who knows lol. I been out of reborns for about 5 years because I got scammed real bad out of over $500 and I just got fed up but I still have all my silicones and reborns dolls from back then and the last few months I went on Temu and I seen they had reborns and I seen they used some scam pics from their real product but when I looked the review pics some were still really nice for the price especially the pickle doll you have and I haven’t seen the pickle awake reborned yet on there but I know they have a blank kit of awake pickle that they call peekle lol. I ended up buying their full body silicone with the open mouth when I got him he is actually cute and painted nice for the price and I’m one of those collectors that paid over $5000 for one of my silicones back in the day and I was pleased for the price of this silicone haha. Don’t get me wrong if I could get him repainted to look more real I would but he fine especially for the price. He even has a little tongue in his mouth when I opened his mouth and he was 2inches longer than they said but he has bent legs. Anyways so for the price I just bought another reborn from them and it was a 28in doll by Bonnie Brown sculpt I believe and I’m waiting on him to come because my grandson loves playing with the silicone I got so thought it would be perfect for him and he has opened eyes and then I want to get the pickle and Im going to restuff and put glass beads in them. I know people frown on buying the china dolls because they are “stolen” kits but I look at it like this if people that is buying them if they wanted a reborn more realistic reborn they would spend the money on a artist painted one but many can’t afford it or their children want one and these are the alternatives and it’s not going to hurt sales from artist because if you can’t afford it your not going to buy one from an artist anyways. My Temu baby came today also. She is not the Pickle, she is the Lucas sculpt. I was surprised at how beautiful she is for less than $50. The first thing I did was weight her. And I don't have to be as careful as I am with my "authentic" dolls.

Yay! Twins! My pickle was weighted by the seller, but all the weight is in the arms and legs. Only polyfil in the body, and I don’t think even that in the head. I kinda like his body like that, though, because it makes him extra squishy. I may eventually stuff his head though. You did a great job on Cael(?) and his sister will look just as amazing!

Maybe it makes the baby feel better to her when she does the different stuffing. I don't have the gift to take a doll apart and put it back together. They do have kits to make your doll so you don't have to take apart a doll
