- These commercials aired on Nick at Nite on April 7th, 1996
1. Next up on Nick at Nite...
2. "The Dick Van Dyke Show" Nick At Nite title card/intro (I loved these little factoids they used to play before shows. For a person obsessed with pointless trivia like myself they probably added a lot to my knowledge base)
3. Got Milk? (One of the more iconic 90's commercials and definitely the best Got Milk? ad)
4. Pull-Ups
5. Pier 1 Imports (Man, I haven't thought about this store in forever and to me it epitomizes the mid-late 90's. In early 2020 they filed for Bankruptcy and by May of 2020 closed all of their stores after the coronavirus pandemic hit. They reopened later that year as an online only retailer)
6. Moen Faucets
7. 409 Glass & Surface Cleaner
8. Round Up
9. TV Land
10. TV Spot for "The Birdcage"
11. Playskool (I'm pretty sure that the singer here is Phoebe Snow)
12. Stick Ups (I don't think I've seen this since the 90's and instantly remembered that CG fish at 3:39)
13. Dimetapp Elixir
14. Pringles (Every time I eat Lay's potato chips I can't help but wipe my greasy fingers all over my shirt for no reason)
15. Nick Jr Promo (I still watched this for episodes of Muppet Babies during the summer and also remember occasionally watching that weird Rupert cartoon)
16. "The Dick Van Dyke Show" End Credits (IMO this is probably the greatest sitcom of all time and is full of great writing. The episode with Rob finding the hidden treasure in his Great Uncle's desk might be my favorite episode of anything ever: • The Dick Van Dyke Show... )
17. Promo for "1996 VH1 Honors"
18. Promo for "In Your House"
19. Sega Channel
20. Wrigley's Spearmint Gum
21. Hillshire Farm Brown Sugar Cured Hams
22. Head & Shoulders
23. Nick at Nite Station ID
24. Next up on Nick at Nite... (Commercials after this are technically from 4/8/96)
25. Nick Jr. Play Math! on CD-ROM
26. Clearasil
27. Dirt Devil Broom Vac
28. Dance Mix Vol 4 (AKA the soundtrack to my 6th grade talent show in '96)
29. National Guard & Reserve PSA
30. The Des Moines Register
31. The Des Moines Register
32. Wendy's (With Dave Thomas)
33. French's French Fried Onions
34. Birds Eye Pasta Secrets
35. V8
36. Motrin IB
37. Raisin Nut Bran (Who eats cereal out in a wheat field like this?)
That "Got Milk?" commercial is so memorable even after 30 years! It was directed by Michael Bay ("Bad Boys", "The Rock", "Transformers"), the star is Sean Whalen ("The People Under The Stairs" and "Twister") and the radio host is Rob Paulsen ("Animaniacs", "Pinky and the Brain".etc).
0:17 - This commercial kickstarted the career of filmmaker Michael Bay, who directed this commercial, and led to his breakthrough feature film, Bad Boys with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
Knowing who made that milk commercial feels rather different without explosions. But the guy on the radio is doing his best not to say "NARF!"
Jesus. I remember that got milk commercial !!!
Stick Ups- If I had a Toilet that could change its size in my bathroom like that, I would consider getting a new toilet.
Pringles- I remember kids in my classes in Grade School used to bang on empty Pringles cans in a similar way that the people do in this commercial in an attempt to make music with them.
0:48 - This commercial is unintentionally eerie, given the deserted room and the jack in the box music playing...
I find the canned baby laughter even more eerie...
These commercials are so quiet and slow compared to today that they relax me.
Shout out to both TCI and the SEGA Channel advert. I had SEGA Channel from the inception since my hometown had both TCI and was a Test Market for it in early 96. Kept it for the two to three years it existed. Hated seeing it go down. At least the ROMs out there let you relive it.
Was 12 during this stretch of commercials and remember every single one. Talk about a Nostalgia Bomb.
The Birdcage-classic..R.I.P Robin Williams
Pringles-with STOMP
1996 VH1 Honors-before the network turned into the Love & Hip Hop channel
In Your House-the WWF/E would begin the"Attitude Era" the following year
Dance Mix Vol 4-gotta love the guy @9:59 standing around like"Umm..ok.." 😄 ..also nice dance remix of Sheryl Crow's hit
The Des Moines Register-"the all purpose newspaper."
100% agree, it doesn't get any better than Dick Van Dyke. I'm turning 42 in a couple of weeks so would have been 14 at this point and had the same watch pattern, Muppet Babies was still worth a watch on Nick Jr.
Omg I had all those Dance Mix USA CDs!!! Memories!!!
Nick Jr at this time had the creepy FACE also seen here! *trumpets* Gotta love the edits people have done here.
We didn't need anymore 90s once we saw DANCE MIX USA VOL 4! This video could have seriously stopped right there!
I always hated that particular "Got Milk?" commercial. I would have just spit out the sandwich and answered the question. It would have taken all of his time to drink the milk before answering anyway.
It won the CLIO award for best commercial in 1994 (and was later recognized in their hall of fame in 2009) and launched the most memorable advertising catchphrase of the 90's...arguably of the last few decades. Whatever your nitpicks are with the ad, it's objectively ranked as one of the best commercials of the 1990's.
The peak of Michael Bay's directoral career.
And I assume the idea is he couldn't spit it out because it was too sticky. Granted, that's still a problem since he had no milk.
This channel never fails! Great stuff as always!!
RIP Pier 1. It was the only place that had quality furniture and home goods

@@80sCommercialVault oh its alive still!
Well, in my city we had one that lasted for a long time even when they were closing the stores. so I assumed when ours finally closed its doors for good, I thought that was it for Pier1 all around. Im glad they are still around, but entering a store is an unforgetable experience (mostly due to the pouperie and smell of incents
