This is why artists and performers have unions that negotiate structures and terms for them. In addition, people really have to stop signing contracts without getting advice. That N10m must have seemed great at the time but on the face of it, he could have argued for so much more. It would have been hard to prove he was an employee since he was never being paid yet could show all the skits made. The first company was his name, then suddenly it was changed but same content. It might have been a serious court battle but he would have had a good enough case for a huge out of court settlement, not N10m. Kmt

I know denilson dave, each time i see him in our area his house was opposite our house. He was a gentleman, every Sunday they shot movies in their house, but that kept him safe, because people couldn't know if that's the money they generated. Mark saw the opportunity than denilson but as an orphan he was less attentive of their income.
This is one of the most sad, heart-wrenching stories. How does he sleep at night knowing all the wrong things he is doing. They have to look into and investigate the ones that were there in the beginning. How he started, the camera that was used, if indeed the guy was the camera man in church. As a fresh lawyer myself when I watched Denilson's podcast I typed that nothing can be done against mark now. It's goes beyond the contract. It's that there is no protection of ideas under the law but expression of that idea under the law of copyright. What could have saved him is if he had insisted on creating a partnership agreement. And mark is so wealthy, obviously in Nigeria he is going to be worshipped everywhere. Morally what mark did was wrong but legally no. The person who could stand a chance against mark in court when she decides to fight in court would be emmanuella if she sues him for child labour. I hope she decides to cause 20k is pure diabolical.

Alternative Dispute Resolution should be the best option considering several loopholes in the case due to Danielson's ignorance. As the say, ignorance is not an excuse in law.
It's more of a business ethics issue. Mark for the purpose of business ethics, sustainability and brand reputation should consider also using alternative dispute resolution channels to engage with his former ally and offer him a befitting and life uplifting golden handshake. Well, I'm not surprised because exactly one year I had a similar experience in the hand of someone who claims to be conversant with the law of the place we are, unknown to me that she went behind to betray me. I endorsed the "said" documents and lost the job and it's rewards. I was blamed for everything. So I learnt my lesson once again, to seek for help in more than one person. I endorsed due to her insistence that she is a citizen and knows every law. If not language challenges then, I wouldn't have become her victim.
I pray Dennison gets justice.

I only watched because of Emmanuela and so did many. I could pick up the vibe of what was happening very early on. I could see that Emmanuella was not in control of her talent.
