Watched this entire series & cried multiple times, Demi has always been a role model to me since I was a kid & always managed to pull me through with her music❤️ your story pulled on my heart strings & spoke to me in so many ways, you are forever a legend❤️ & my hero💖 please don’t ever stop doing what you’re doing, you’re incredible & can’t wait for my future kids to love & admire you as much as I do🙏🏼💚 you are truly an inspiration, I love you Demi, keep being you, you are a true warrior😈🙏🏼😍
Elton is exactly the authority to heed when it comes to sobriety. He knows all too well what he’s talking about. No half-measures. Give it up now or start planning your funeral.
He was pretty tame in “Stranger Than Fiction”. The plot sounds weird, not gonna lie, but when you watch the movie, something about it pulls you in. It’s a great movie, funny, dramatic, somewhat dark yet lighthearted at the same time.
This poor girl was literally hungry - for like 10+ years - she’s finally feeding her heart, soul and body at long last. The watermelon cake bit shatters me
the watermelon cake... her assistants being forced to restrict their food... very sad & stifling. I hope she never has people around her who exacerbate her ED like that again...
I was actually amazed with that one. I never knew there was even such a thing as a watermelon cake. I once saw a wedding cake which was made out of candy, such that it looked like the same texture of circus peanuts, and was pink in color. Whoever was in charge had a vivid imagination, but I don't know if I would want that at my wedding. I never asked about it.
So true. I think she is surrounded by people who love her, butin the end won't tell her what she needs to know. She needs someone around her who is honest and will tell her as it is like Elton John
"Isolation is the worst thing you can do. Ask for help. Asking for help was so hard for me because I thought I could do everything myself" - Elton John
That last part resonated with me, I haven't dealt with addiction but suffer from depression and it's 100% been my thought process that I could sort it out myself. It's definitely a process but it really opens the door when you make that first step to finally outsource some help!
@@RhianeHacker Absolutely. I was exactly the same and for the longest time, I’d assumed not seeking help was because naturally I’m extremely stubborn. But then I was told by my therapist once that depression can in-of-itself become an addiction; you can become addicted to the sadness, the pain, because it’s the only thing that’s constant in our lives, that feels familiar and ‘safe’ - which is why so many of us struggle to seek help, despite the dire need to be free of it.
Elton John has experienced addiction and this lifestyle he knows better than anyone she is surrounded by some people need enablers and some need blunt friends people that will tell them straight to their face their most honest opinion.
I think its quite dangerous. Even that thing "I just had to grow up it`s not bipolar." It`s really dangerous to think like that. Because that kind of excuses I heard a lot of my bipolar friends (I`m bipolar too) when they throw they pills away. My gut tells me there will be another od within 5 to 10 years.
Elton John is the only one that makes sense. Everyone else including Demi are deluding themselves. And he said it in one sentence. Comments about the others in her life being yes men are so true.
Elton is so wonderful. Whether its made public or not he reaches out to SO many young artists, especially those who struggle with substance abuse. I love that he doesn't agree with moderation but he still loves and supports Demi and he will stand by her no matter what.
Yes. Elton John is awesome. Like Demi, he is another artist I look up to. At concerts he too connects with the audience. That is not something that each and every artist does.
I think he's sharing his truth about what works for him. Recovery isn't one size fits all. It's a process and we're all different. Harm reduction is real and important.
I have never been in addiction so I say this as a family member of someone that has. I feel her using alcohol is likely a bad idea. Cannabis I don't see as a bad thing for her though. It's not physically addictive and many recovering addicts use it for pain. That would otherwise normally be treated with medications that can be physically addictive. Having a medical card removes the risk of talking to a dealer.
@@jessi_bear I'm sorry for what you went through with your family member. Addiction isn't easy on anyone involved, the person going through it and the people who love and care for them.
Yeah I think they were just being smart asses like “they didn’t even make it to marriage wow let’s deepen the wound” tasteless and condescending magazine lingo per usual
@@gaila.9852 you clearly don’t know divorce also has more than one definition. Divorce can also mean to separate or dissociate (something) from something else.
When her “friends” said they were happy about her engagement I knew there was a problem. Someone who just OD should NOT be getting engaged to someone they literally just met. So many rash decisions
Maddison was born and grew up knowing her sister like this, she doesn't know any differently and sadly enough she also struggles with her mental health. She's way too grounded, and I feel like experiencing fame at 6 and then struggling to find jobs at 18 helped grounding her, whereas their mom is still living off of Demi
Her mom is in denial about her daughter. “whatever she’s into at least won’t put her into ICU.” So you’re giving her permission to use stuff. You are enabling her by telling her what she wants to hear. That attitude is probably what allowed her to escalate to the level of drugs she OD’d on. Bad move mom!
She said that she thinks Demi is under control because she isn't going to overdose. Those are two completly differnet things, she's the only one who wasn't actually worried.
The reason addicts are warned not to use moderation is because if they could moderate successfully, they wouldn’t be an addict in the first place. I wish her well, but I don’t see moderation working out.
As someone with an eating disorder, these words about it being “my decision” is in a way true, but also are incredibly disordered and toxic as well in a way.....
He’s at the point in his life that he doesn’t care not only is he successful he’s stared at death in the eyes so he will say whatever he feels he needs to
Her concept of sobriety scares me. The DWTD video broke my heart, she was on death’s bed. She’s come a long way but Demi can be very deceptive, she’s an addict. She knows how to make you think she’s fine. Elton is in recovery and he knows, you can’t drink recreationally as an addict. It’s a very slippery slope.
I’m in recovery too and I’ve tried. I wasted my entire 20’s basically. I think she’s fooling everyone and I’m a huge fan of Demi. I think she’s doing better with her ED but it’s only a matter of time until she goes back to the “duffle bag” substances. It may be a month from now or it may be a year from now. But it’ll happen, she’s an addict through and through. She’s who inspired me to get sober and I’m thankful for that but I worry about her.
Remember how she was high throughout the entire documentary “Staying Strong” about being sober? I know that was years ago, but if you’ve watched shows like Euphoria you’ll learn that addicts are very unreliable narrators.
Addicts do this type of recovery and assuring that they’re fine to make sure they leave themselves enough wiggle room so if they decide to go back their friends and family won’t immediately realize. That and a mix of wishful thinking.
yeah! out of all of them she seemed like she was having some issues. im so so scared for demi and this whole "moderation" idea of hers. an addict is an addict at the end of the day and i really really really hope this works out.
I’ve been sober in recovery for over 3 years. This last episode is sad. One, I feel like everyone is holding back in these interviews. It doesn’t feel genuine. Demi’s been known in the past to be “it my way or the highway” so I feel like it’s that way with her “treatment team” too They’re afraid to truly say everything. There’s more to be said. Addicts are the best liars you will ever meet. We can lie straight to your face without even the slightest twitch. We can also manipulate our friends and family into believing anything we want. We can make people feel bad for us. I did it to my family for years. You can see it in the video. I would like to hope and believe this moderation thing will work out for her. But I’m not niave. Especially after her whole erratic behavior with the froyo thing. I’d like to be proven wrong on this one. We’ll just have to wait and see
@@mikemoffett6499 um wrong. People behind the scenes already know the real deal. It's so funny when people defend or say something they know nothing about. It's beyond moderation now. But keep thinking what you want doesn't change the truth.
@@bwoww_163 well the time has shown it works for her. She still says she’s not on hard drugs and that it’s been a year since these scenes were filmed also so it works for her
Elton is saying the truth, moderation never or very very rarely works especially for people who have struggled with substances but maybe it will naturally become sobriety when she is not too fixated on having to be sober and having to be a role model.
That's statistically not true! Moderation therapy is a great and the best option for some people, let's stop the prejudice around differents kinds of therapy, they are very hardly studied
I agree with you on that. He's never been one to mince words with what's on his mind. I do hope she manages to stay on her path. This was a great series.
You nailed it Kenzie, everyone around Demi including family are walking on eggshells. They are all scared to say anything that might upset Demi and it's not normal.
JORDAN DOES NOT GET ENOUGH CREDIT FOR LITERALLY SAVING DEMI’S LIFE!!! If she had got to her 5-10 minutes later that would’ve been it..or if she didn’t find her at all..we wouldn’t be seeing this today and that really hits. Poor girl barely got mentioned or thanked from what I’ve seen. Hopefully it is different behind the scenes and she’s getting the praise she deserves 🙏🏻 also Demi is an amazingly strong soul, she has gone through a lot, and even though an ordinary person probably woukdnt have survived this and being a celebrity was in her favour, it was still an immense difficulty getting through it and I applaud her for that. Beautifully documented. Even more beautiful song:
@@macymiller8743 also they wrote texts for each other about how they changed each other's life on their insta stories after the first episode it was really sweet ❤
@@RedRoseSeptember22 Maybe you lack in reading comprehension, but the original comment stated "Hopefully it is different behind the scenes and she’s getting the praise she deserves" She didn't claim that she knew she never thanked her, she just hopes that that's the case. She didn't claim to say she knew her or anything of the sorts, there's no need to jump to the defense.
@@claudiairrgang4755 she posted about it herself back then, something like her not supporting her California Sober ways anymore but sticking to completely sober now again ❤
@@LisaJR1995 I hope it goes well for her and she can stick to it. I can't drink because of my epilepsy medication and it's pretty tough not being able to. People can be really pushy and have little regard as to why someone is staying sober. I did not struggle with addiction, but I did suffer an alcohol poisoning on my 20th birthday and it completely changed my relationship to it. Hey, I lost lots of weight, saved so much money, but most of all, I haven't been hungover in years which is just the best thing ever.
I think though cannabis can play a healing part in someone's recovery, it's not for everyone and drinking at all was probably not the best idea. I'm glad they changed their mind on it.
The beginning of her song is “it’s just a little red wine, I’ll be fine” and that led to her OD. Now, she is saying she is just drinking and smoking in moderation after her OD. I understand that balance is the way to work through disordered eating, but as far as substance abuse I am more than worried for her.
@@bettyjojoeharperre-imagina7322 Weed can have effects on the brain. Demi already has brain damage, mental health issues and probably had an abnormal brain development due to her drug abuse as a teenager so who knows how bad the effects of excessive use of marijuana could get for her. That's why there is concern on that front as well.
Weed has more positive effect on the brain. It actually helps with mental health disorders and helps with other health conditions the negatively effect the brain. 🤷🏽♀️ There is a less likely chance that it will be a moment where she’s like this isn’t working enough bc it almost always does. There are also multiple strains that work differently. The best part is that she doesn’t have to worry about it being laced as long as she is going to a dispensary and since she lives in CA there is no reason for her not to. These are my opinions and I know not everyone will agree.
The fact that she re-recorded her reaction to the break up like 'the video i did earlier was not honest' - THAT is growth. THAT is rewriting her behaviour. Super proud of her for being honest. As much as celebs do not owe anyone (the public) anything to be super open at all times, it must be really easy to lie to yourself when you lie to the outside world so much. By being honest with us I feel like it's given her the opportunity to be honest with herself. I really wish her nothing but the power to overcome the daily struggle. Every night she goes to sleep, she has beaten another day. Keep on winning, Demi.
@@honeybunch5765 It was for the documentary. So that was going to be the original clip but she re-recorded what she was really feeling (since this time she wants to be 100% transparent, even with the setbacks)
“ I wish I could get some relief from weed or something” .... if you still think of it as a cure to your problems you shouldn’t be doing it. Of course after a little relief you’ll want a big relief. She needs a therapist around a neutral person who calls her out on her addictive behavior. She was sober a year and dated and almost married a guy in 6 months saying he gives her a reason to like herself. You’re getting high off a relationship girl...
I think Demi needs a set of new friends. These two best friends she has are not self aware at all and just seem to miss all of the obvious red flags that would be apparent to anyone who isn’t on Demi’s payroll. Sad.
@@tarynolyvia just because she’s known these people for decades does not mean that they automatically can pick up on the signs. They missed the Mark the first few times. You have no idea what these people’s intentions are; knowing someone for a long time means nothing in Hollywood.
Okay, yes, quality, not quantity. But these people know her better than you do. The only things we see are what she wants us to see. It isn’t our place to criticize the people who help her, and make her feel better. And with addiction, the people we are close to often miss things, because they want to see her better. It’s not the public’s place to condemn them
I'm not going to lie, the fact that she's "California sober" scares me. My mum was an alcoholic and tries to drink socially, in moderation now. It doesn't work and never has done, just last Tuesday she drank herself into oblivion for two days. Stay safe, Demi.
I think it's different for everyone. She definitely used to drink and do drugs because she had no control over her life and now she does, I think that's what makes a huge difference and if she's really reaching out when she's not feeling great, is still in therapy etc. she'd probably stop drinking and weed if it gets too much.
It works for some and not for others. I'm more on Demi's end of the spectrum, if I lock myself down to sobriety completely I won't, I'll break and take all the drugs I can get my hands on. Same with snack foods. But if I allow myself a little bit of this here and a little bit of that there, it's enough to enjoy it and not overdo it. But my mum is like your mum, if she allows herself a tiny bit she won't stop until she's basically dead. So she's shut that door completely
I applaud her about saying that she isn’t 100% sober, but moderation for an addict does not work. However, she needs to continue to seek her own path and seek why works for her. Am I scared for her? Yes, but am sending healing and positive vibes.
It’s worked for me. I drink and smoke weed a few times a year and I’ve been sober for five years without any relapses. I think this only applies to your drug of choice, at least for me. Like, I could never do heroin in moderation. But weed and alcohol? Yes, I can.
@@emilyalyse7628 i don't think she's doing it a few times a year tho. Like finding limits not only in quantity of a drug or alcohol but the frequency of their use is so important. I hope she doesn't do it every day or every week, bc its not sustainable and definitely isn't moderation. *very happy for you being sober, Em♥*
@@emilyalyse7628 idk i feel like moderately drinking to someone who was an alcoholic at 18 just won’t work. i understand the weed but the drinking can lead to so much
@@J88-q9q now this part Indo agree with. If she was an alcoholic before Maybe she should stick to weed and psychedelics. Try psychedelic therapy maybe. I intend on doing that.
I love that Sir Elton John took part of this documentary. Totally straightfoward. Demi is so crazy talented. I wish her all the happiness in the world she deserves it. 🙂
I remember the day she posted that picture of the melon cake and my heart just sank. I get that celebs have regimes or whatever, but seeing that - not only as a fan of hers, but also as someone who’s struggled with disordered eating & body dysmorphia myself - it was just a whole other level of depressing.
I don’t understand who was doing this to her? Her “team” said she had to get and stay thin, and couldn’t snack and shamed her Into being thin? Why would her parents, her sister, or any one of all these “supportive-loving” people around her now allow that to happen... especially as she got much older into her mid 20’s no one else around her knew this was how her team treated her? I don’t get it
@@TheAverageSavage1021 so from my understanding the reason why they were strict was because she struggled with food , so they had a dietitian, chef and “ safe “ foods for her to eat and didn’t want her to binge so they controlled what she ate and what people around her ate so it wouldn’t trigger her ED however it was only making things worse because she literally had no control over nothing she was allowed to consume .
What blows my mind is her comment about still trying to convince herself that it’s ok for her to do any of these things in “moderation” when the very beginning of her song dancing with the devil starts out with her saying the same thing “it’s just a little red wine.. it won’t hurt me.. I deserve it” etc showing that obviously her fooling herself in the past about moderation didn’t work out and yet she’s still trying to justify it now.. I pray that she really does finally see through her BS enough to stop completely
Like she said about her SA, she did it again because she wanted control. Same thing here I assume. And I’m saying since it didn’t work out with the SA, it’s not going to work with her addiction.
“Moderation doesn’t work. Sorry! If you drink you’re gonna drink more if you, you know, take a pill you’re gonna take another one. You either do it or you don’t.” I agree completely and totally Sir Elton John.
PS : I love Demi and absolutely respect her choice and the fact that she thinks that any sort of someone trying to control her life might make her spiral. I just want her to be careful and not fall into the same trap with this smoking and alcohol. Much love Demi and we’re all happy you’re still in the world! ❤️❤️❤️
The people surrounding her could potentially be incredibly damaging and actuary enabling with the whole moderation bs which doesn't work for addicts. I appreciate the honesty though.
I think that if she is able to do it and it truly works then that’s just how she is. The drinking is more scary than the weed one thing people who don’t understand addiction don’t notice is if she’s completely sober or smoking weed she’s still gonna relapse if that’s what she’s gonna do.
The ends a little wonky but what I’m tryna say is whether or not she’s completely sober, if she’s in that position and in that funk she might relapse and it might not be because of alcohol or weed.
Never think you have control. As a recovering addict myself I learnt from my relapses that I will never have this in the bag. I love Demi but im scared for her still. Elton John said it best. You can't do anything in moderation.
For her sake I hope she continues to only do that. I love her music and she seems like an amazing person. I just know it doesn't really work like that for an addict.
@@shannonsieber6785 I mean there’s a lot of people who do it. I know you have not seen it but Demi is still learning about this new path even though it’s been 2 years since she started it in early 2019
i do think however that part of that was to do with their former management which we can see in clear-light controlled them & how they didnt care for her. Maybe moderation will work for them>\?
I hope the moderation thing doesn't turn out to be a mistake. I know it can work for some people, and the weed doesn't worry me either since that's not addictive in the same way as the other stuff, but the moderation in drinking does definitely worry me, because I know how easily that can become a slippery slope. I hope it works out.
Well... I dont think it is going to help her much for people to doubt her only to say "see, told ya so" if she loses control. She could choose total sobriety again and lose control that way too. I don't really see what the point is in everyone standing around her being like "this could be a mistake!" Like, is that being said just to have somethig looming over her ? I don't get it. People dont go to AA while having others stand around them going "I dunno... I hope it works but I'm doubtful... I think this could be a mistake!" And then if someone relapses then what? Does everyone dance around going "see! I knew AA wouldnt work out!" It would be pointless. AA actually has a fairly low success rate as far as how many people try it and dont succeed at abstinence. But for the people it does work for, it saves their lives. So I'm not dissing AA. But I'm also not caught up on dogma either thinking that because AA worked for Elton it is the ONLY thing that will work for anyone else. And maybe it IS what Demi needs, but how is she going to realize that without first believing that maybe moderation works best for her. Maybe it does and maybe it doesnt. But if she is saying that is what she wants to try, that means she isnt wanting to abstain completely. And if she doesnt want to, no one else forcing her to or shaming her to is going to work either. So all you can do is support someone on their earthly journey and be there for them. Expectations or naysayers waiting for someone to fail arent helpful either. Obviously her assistant and Elton just have concetk and that is fair, but her friends supporting her on her life's journey are doing what friends are supposed to do. Everything else - all the decisions - all the choices - all the results and consequences - are all on Demi and this is her one life to live. No one else's. Whatever happens. So it's best just to be there for people. Support them. Love them. Have boundaries for yourself and for them still (I'm definitely not saying put up with abuse or anything toxic from anyone). But otherwise we're all on our own journey's here.
I agree with you. Everyone has different experiences with everything ofc. Like for me the weed really helps keeping me away from the substances I'm in recovery from buuuut alcohol is something I really stay away from just because of the effects, the impulse I get and just the lack of control you know. So I totally get what you're saying.
Ive never seen a more disordered, chaotic tale in "favor" of recovery in my life. I think we will be here again and soon sadly. At the same time, I wish Demi the best. I just still see A LOT of red flags though. I hope there is solid wellness in the future.
Yes I agree. I don’t think she’ll ever be able to get clean and stay clean. I can only imagine how hard being addicted to drugs can be but I just don’t think she wants it enough. Doesn’t feel like she’s trying.
Wow me too. I’m like HOW ?!?! Everyone and everything and she herself is lost! I feel so sad for her! She doesn’t have smart people or intuitive people arpund her
I get you, I've been dealing with anxiety for a while and no one understands. Everyone says im exaggerating, why are you anxious about that? Is so dumb, dont be a cry baby everythings fine... etc. And it hurts couse its a horrible thing having anxiety and panic attacks 😞

The mom not worried about drinking and smoking because "she knows her limits". Did you not listen to the song Demi wrote? Dancing with the Devil? Also the fact she relapsed AFTER almost dying. I pray for her and see this turning into a tragedy. 🙌
I’m glad that I’m at a point in my own recovery that hearing someone say they moderate doesn’t trigger me to think I can drink again, I’m 2 and a half years sober TODAY!!!!
Congrats! I'm 27 years clean and sober, and I feel so relieved! And I agree with you about not feeling like I can drink or abuse a drug again. Never again. :)
@@pequenaAlina honestly neither have explicitly said why but the general reason that Demi gave was because she didn’t actually know Max. i am scared for her future. Knowing professionally addiction, I am with Elton John, moderation does not work. and I would be the first to cry if anything were to happen to her again. just praying for her
My brother fought with addiction for 10 years and each time he tried to be sober he would rationalize drinking and within a couple of months he was doing hard drugs each time. I still take a deep sigh and let a couple tears out every time I go to type this out, 09-15-2017, I lost my brother. Addiction sucks, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

i'm so glad that they've stopped california sobriety. moderation doesn't work for addicts, that's why they get addictions in the first place. wishing them all the best, they were my childhood idol
To everyone saying they don't feel comfortable about Demi's condition, the disclaimer at the beginning says that moderation management isn't for everyone, so they know the risks. At the end of the day, this is Demi's choice. Let's all pray that it works for her because she seems a lot happier now. ❤🙏
They're just telling their opinions. Just like Elton John did. Most people don't believe in moderation when it comes to addiction(ordinary people and experts). It's only natural people are worried.

I'm afraid she kind of is though when it comes to the whole moderation thing... I'm with Elton John on that. An addict should stay away from substances forever.
I for the life of me have never understood it. How do people have a normal relationship with food.....I think im on the verge of being close but just can't seem to get there...
She still looks so so so lost. My best friend passed away from a heroin addiction in 2017...so my heart goes out to her and her family and friends. But this whole moderation thing is worrisome. I hope she heals and finds happiness.
My friend passed away from heroin overdose when he was 20. It was devastating for our entire friend group and all involved. I'm sorry for your lose. And I really hope Demi has the support they need.
In PA marijuana is used for medical use in opiate addiction therapy, and as a former drug user I understand where she’s coming from. Not every addict is the same, what works for some might not work for another 🖤 Love you Demi and I’m proud of you 😘
My husband used to smoke crack back in 1995. He was able to quit crack and has smoked weed for the last 23 years. It works for some, not all. I am proud of him. People always judged him for it but thinking he would fail. Moderation can work.
It can. My bio mother passed in 2016 but she was a cocaine/heroin addict for 20 years until she finally got clean in 04. She was clean from those hard drugs for 12 years but did drink beer and smoke weed very now and then and was functioning.
Its so easy to rush into a relationship when you first get sober. It almost mimics the thrill you get when you're getting high. I've ruined lots of friendships, and spent time with people who I ultimately wasn't compatible with. Getting sober makes you throw yourself harder into other aspects of life
Yes! When i got sober i rushed into a relationship with someone i KNEW was toxic & bad for me but the feelings & the rush i got was the high i was missing at the time
Getting sober I feel like is kind of like running through a maze full speed with your arms tied up, you're going to hit walls constantly, but as long as you're prepared and you can pick yourself back up you can make it. I believe she can do it, but there are going to be problems she's going to have to overcome.
As a licensed social worker who works with people with mental health and substance use disorders, I am SO proud of you, Demi! Never knew this thanks for posting because I always thought that she had just met Sirah ...I love their friendship and the way that sirah has a genuine love for her .
I’ve struggled with addiction and I can’t smoke weed but I can have a beer. My friends and family feel really nervous when I have a beer but it’s not a trigger for me at all. Moderation works for me more than abstinence does.
I only drink one bottle of wine on my birthdays, and that works for me 😊 gotta only worry about what works for you! Wish you all the best on your journey ❤
I also struggle with addiction and I also take one beer every now and then. I know that when I go past that limit I start to convince myself I can have more.
I have struggled with heroin addiction and anorexia. I have been sober for 3 years. Getting clean is no easy feat. I admire you Demi, thank you for speaking out about your struggle. So many of us have struggled in the shadows because of the shame we feel, you speaking out will make it easier for people to seek help.
it annoys me how there is talk about moderation but then shortly after there is a clip of her in 2018 talking about the EXACT same thing just before her overdose. I understand the duality and hardships of control during eating disorders, especially considering ultimatums and how essential it is to avoid them (no food vs. too much food) in addition to how demi faces her drug addiction: trying to avoid the same black and white decisions she's made regarding her eating habits. I really do believe that every person works in a different way, and I sincerely hope she gets better, but it feels like history repeating, accompanied by misunderstandings in regards to the way she sees the world and faces addicition in general (as in, it feels like she's treating her drug addiction like her food addicition and it is NOT the same just because it is an addiction periodt, ykwim?)
She's a true fan of Christina, I can only imagine how cool it was to hear your idol talking about you on such a kind and lovely way, ugh I love them so much
I'm glad Elton John is in this documentary because he has a extraordinary collection of wisdom in his pocket after his own experiences with drugs. I hope they become friends 💕👑💐

When her “friends” said they were happy about her engagement I knew there was a problem. Someone who just OD should NOT be getting engaged to someone they literally just met. So many rash decisions

Me and my mom are like that, she never knows much because our relationship is rocky, but my sister knows a lot
She said that she thinks Demi is under control because she isn't going to overdose. Those are two completly differnet things, she's the only one who wasn't actually worried.

But it’ll happen, she’s an addict through and through. She’s who inspired me to get sober and I’m thankful for that but I worry about her.

Just wanted to say that I'll be praying for you in what you're going through with your mom. Having a parent who's an addict has to be scary.

I don’t get it
"no more melon cake..."
When Elton John tells you moderation doesn’t work, believe him!
The fact that they casually got Christina, will and Elton.

Exactly! This lol
Very humble and caring, them taking their time to do this for Demi.
Girl yes why aren’t her fans saying this?!

He would know best, as he is an addict himself.
I hope you will overcome it. Have Hope, take care :)
Well many addicts can drink and smoke weed in moderation. Demi did it for 2 years so that’s proof it works for her
For her sake I hope she continues to only do that. I love her music and she seems like an amazing person. I just know it doesn't really work like that for an addict.
@@shannonsieber6785 I mean there’s a lot of people who do it. I know you have not seen it but Demi is still learning about this new path even though it’s been 2 years since she started it in early 2019

“The hardest part was mourning the loss of the person I thought he was.”

Because I'm not famous like other singers that's why no one see my singing videos. Just see once❤,,, ....
She just released a song talking about how trying to do it in moderation is dancing with the devil and now she’s saying it’s okaayyy?! GIRL WHAT
i do think however that part of that was to do with their former management which we can see in clear-light controlled them & how they didnt care for her.
So I totally get what you're saying.
she is not now nor has ever been sober

Its so easy to rush into a relationship when you first get sober. It almost mimics the thrill you get when you're getting high. I've ruined lots of friendships, and spent time with people who I ultimately wasn't compatible with. Getting sober makes you throw yourself harder into other aspects of life
Yes! When i got sober i rushed into a relationship with someone i KNEW was toxic & bad for me but the feelings & the rush i got was the high i was missing at the time
Yes!! And you aren't supposed to rush into new relationships when you are early in recovery. If it ends badly, that can be a huge trigger for relapse.
If I remember correctly, the rule was wait at least a year before pursuing a relationship. Live and learn I guess
Getting sober I feel like is kind of like running through a maze full speed with your arms tied up, you're going to hit walls constantly, but as long as you're prepared and you can pick yourself back up you can make it.

it annoys me how there is talk about moderation but then shortly after there is a clip of her in 2018 talking about the EXACT same thing just before her overdose.
